I have a similar theory, that I call the "theory of duality" in which, summarized, says that, reality requires consciousness in order to be real in the first place, and thus means that consciousness has to be a quantifiable thing. My idea revolves around the idea that good and evil, do not work to destroy each other, no, this is not a destructive relationship, rather, it is symbiotic, meaning that good and evil rely on each other to exist, for one is nothing without the other, tying back to yin-yang I suppose. It is in my belief that in this theory of duality, that our creator, or God, represents the consciousness, it is something we cannot see or quantify (yet), God, and consciousness allowed for creation to happen, but it needed a counterweight, this is where reality comes in, it acts as the metaphorical "yang" , as it essentially acts of a means of giving consciousness a realm in which it can function, it gives laws and order to consciousness. This existence requires our consciousness to be bound by the rules of reality because, our minds, without the restraints of reality, are very powerful things, and the order, by which all things must follow, including our creator, acknowledges that this power must come with great responsibility.
It is my belief, that there are many different realities, all of which sharing a common ruler, the order, but the order, you have to think of like your boss, it doesn't change, and you won't change in your place as an underling, but, you can be promoted, of course I mean, that he, it, whatever, the order of things, being conscious of you, can change your reality based on how responsible you have become of course, I suppose that it, being reality and consciousness simultaneously, like us can regard us, as we do it, and can alter our realities based on our actions/consciousness.
I believe that all of these realities that we can exist in are all within the same existence, it's all simultaneous, and, we will all experience each other's realities in due time, as Murphy's law requires. I believe that maybe those who experience more things on the paranormal side, might be biologically more prone to these other realities that we coexist with, it is my belief, that in the future, we will find definitive proof of the link between reality and the consciousness, and their effects on one another, and I believe that discoveries such as these will spur on many "technological" in nature advances, as we will have realized that in all this time of human existence, we have yet to grasp the power that lies within us to create.
idk, feel free to call me crazy, I don't lurk here often, I actually came up with that theory over the course of 3-4 years, and if there's anything you'd like to add or criticize, please do so.
