Sound =/= light.
Light doesn't diffract under earth's atmosphere terribly much, so light doesn't bend in a circular manner. Sound waves, however, do.
Now, if this meteor did explode due to the heat/speed of entry, say, a couple kilometers above the earth, it's very possible that it was seen from far away. London, though? I doubt that. Anyone got sauce for that?
Even if it wasn't a meteor, I can't think of anything that would:
a) cause an explosion capable of shattering windows far away
and b) cause a light to be seen from thousands of kilometers aways.
It would have to explode low to break the windows, but high to be seen from London.
