I've been seeing this symbol around in random locations almost once a day now for the past month or two.

The main connections seem to be the ogdoad, creation, chaos, and freedom. One helpful anon said it represented the 4 creative forces in the universe. the primeval waters, darkness, air and eternity. I'd like to have more info though, so please post anything you think could be helpful.

This octagram is relatively important in Semitic history, moreso in the Arabian and Islamic world, called an Islamic Square, or Rub Al Hizb (sometimes its used by jews too though, moreso in israel)

It's sometimes even used as a symbol of Islam, so if that's a problem for you be wary kek

It's also had alot of intersection with Christianity, due to the crusades and jihads in Spain and Constantinople-Istanbul, way back when frequently used as a motif in churches/mosques

It also exists in some more paganistic direction, but I'm no expert, I'm particularly infatuated with it though.

oh yeah it's also a hindu symbol as the Star of Lakshmi, but probably is originally a pagan symbol that just happened into existence like alot of the other divine geometry and fractals

dont know if too many people are interested in it (it's not something I see often, even in like hippie stores and stuff) but i'd be interested to see more of /x/'s take

It's a very ancient symbol that means different things in different cultures. It was used to represent Inanna, one of the main Sumerian deities, as well as her Babylonian counterpart, Ishtar. In Egyptian religion, there were 8 primordial deities, the Ogdoad, 4 male and 4 female, considered the creators of the world and the races of man. The eight-fold path is the foundation of Buddha's teachings. The number 8 commonly represents infinity, armony, completeness. I have no idea why you keep seeing the 8-pointed star everywhere, but I wouldn't worry about it.

Trump posted this image today. I'm not sure what synchronicity is trying to tell me but I will continue to post any more sightings in this thread as they occur.
