What do you guys think? What animals could possibly swallow a human whole? And I don't mean simply inhale a human, but ALL animals that are capable of even so much as fitting a human down their throats, even if they have to have their jaws forced open to do it. Anything a human will fit inside of.

actually, that's for a whale. I think the blue whale, not sure.
Sharks can swallow larger chunks of prey quite easily as other fish do, and larger sharks have been caught with large prey inside of their bellies, even an entire human one, though that was a basking shark.

Pretty sure some catfish can, if they grow large enough. A gulper catfish the size of a dog could probably eat a human, but only god knows if they grow that large in some dank, dark, disgusting part of the ocean.

Alright, since nobody's saying the obvious, like I figured they would, let me lay down some animal facts, courtesy of Google n' Wikipedia
>basking shark found with an entire human in its stomach
Hell no, you're thinking of a tiger shark. And sadly, the guy was bitten to chunks and swallowed, not alive and whole. Fisherman accidentally caught the tiger shark and found a completely intact foot pop out of its mouth. Basking sharks are filter feeders, they live off of plankton and while the mouth is huge, the throat itself is barely wide enough to fit your arm in.
>gulper catfish growing big enough to swallow a human
Also no, even the biggest gulper catfish don't grow any longer than about 12 inches.
>mekong catfish swallowing humans
Mekong catfish start as filter feeders, then live off of algae. They can grow to 6-8 ft. long, but they don't swallow prey whole like gulpers do
Although it's never been confirmed, there's a chance of a goonch catfish large enough to swallow a person in one part of the world, and that's the one covered in that one episode of River Monsters: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kali_River_goonch_attacks

I bet if someone was small enough and an animal like a Goonch was large enough, like freak sizes on both sides of the spectrum, you could probably get an easy swallow.
God only knows if the worlds smallest able bodied person is a voraphile and raising Goonches with miracle grow to breed the worlds largest maneater.

Anacondas have been found with an entire human inside of them, but alas, their eyes were too big for their stomachs.
A 200lb prey wouldn't normally harm them, but a 200lb prey with a radial clavicle and broad, rigid shoulders is not something nature intended them to swallow.
The majority of them found with such a meal were either dead or dying from not being able to properly swallow them all the way. (Think of getting something stuck deep in your throat) The retrieved bodies had barely begun to be digested.
Could an Anaconda grow or be grown to the right size and be conditioned to swallow and digest something as wide as a Human's shoulders? Probably, but it would take, literally, decades and a lot of funds if you raise it yourself, just for the habitat and larger and larger pigs you'd have to feed it to condition its esophagus and stomach sphincters.
Better to just keep it fantasy. Lot cheaper. But snake vore is THE most realistic vore as far as being swallowed whole goes. The next, and seemingly not covered in this thread, would have to be giant pitcher plants. I don't believe that they exist in nature, but genetics could probably create them. There do exist giant fungi living in the soil. I haven't heard of any bodies being found enveloped in them, but of course, the fungi would probably absorb 100% of the body, so no bones would ever be found.
Although a scuba diver was found swallowed whole by a whale shark, that was probably an accident since they eat plankton. Most other marine vore is HARD vore. Most fish have teeth and they use them on prey too big to swallow in one gulp. Cephalopods have a very sharp beak, so giant squid and octopi are HARD vore as well.

There are Fungi that pretty much eat anything, even bones, since they all secrete acids of one kind or another to break down their food source. Some have even been found thriving in nuclear reactors, and as I stated, quite clearly:
"I have NEVER heard of any bodies being found enveloped in them."
Simple juxpositionary statement: Either they do not entrap people and animals, or they do and make a very clean job of it. Like Schrödinger's cat. (Look it up, and while you're at it, look up fungi. You'll be amazed.)
Would explain a lot of disappearances in the old forests down south, but until a body is found, it's all conjecture. My money is still on the snake.

Even so, it's generally not productive for the vore scene with Fungi. They act slow and, in the kind you're thinking of, don't grow that ferociously over dead bodies. If you wanted to be vored by fungus you'd have to die by other means in the perfect location. There's never a case where you're going to be eaten alive by fungi, except if you don't bathe and that's just nasty.

Orcas don't have a crop or anything similar to deal with chunks of food, it's straight to the stomach were the usual stomach things happen.
They also tear chunks off of what they are eating, not use their non existent chewing sack to deal with large meals.

This is something I researched a bit, and there's pretty much only one animal that could possibly swallow an adult human whole: a sperm whale. It routinely swallows prey larger than a human, such a giant squid and sharks. However, it's extremely unlikely anyone would ever be swallowed by a sperm whale as they typically hunt at depths far below what a human could survive before being crushed by the water pressure. And there's basically no way you would be swallowed alive even if it did try to swallow you, because it would effortlessly kill you first, as is typical of large predators. But it *could* in theory swallow an entire intact human in one piece.
The only other candidate would be an enormous snake of some kind, and while there may have been snakes large enough to swallow a human without it harming them at one point during human history and there could even be one alive today, they are incredibly rare and I don't believe there's any known to exist.
