Fun fact: the TRAP is the only gun in the game that has a time-to-kill of 0.00 seconds if you land three headshots, even if they have nano-weave. It also has three-round burst and very very easy firing patterns. Treat it like you're using a battle rifle for a few kills, cloak and reload.

You fool! The brass has been giving us a sign the entire time. The reason TR battle rifles and SMGs suck fat balls isn't because they cut a bad deal with third-rate manufacturers, it's because you're supposed to use sniper rifles for your CQC!
You can reliably get single second or two-shot kills with the 99SV at close range and then transition into mid or long-range combat the moment the vicinity is cleared. Done properly, this allows you to secure a position and turn it into an unexpected sniping spot for the opponent, often leading you to tapping heads behind enemy lines. My KD skyrocketed instantly the moment when I realized this and abandoned all attempts to use conventional close range weapons while working to my achieve quest of being a sweaty BWAE-farming infilshitter despite getting between 5 and 25 FPS in any point with more than a few people on it.

The outfit go back up, but for now people are looking at playing NC due to the wide range of advantages, which include bullying AODR, bullying WNTG, and beating NC command into submission until they start moving zergs to the vanu border instead of the TR border. This also gives us safe accounts to bully these people from indefinitely, even once we move back to wwew.
I doubt it'll last more than a week or so.
I encourage everyone to not be sputniks like >>16875081 and at least try to stick with the pack for a while before hopping back to TR, but obviously nobody can force anybody to do anything. There still are a lot of players, I guess it's worth trying out, but I'm not sure I'd recommend it as such. Long-term it can get annoying, especially because it becomes harder and harder to not notice the repeating patterns of cancer in the community.
New player, put all your first points into maxing out medic and engineer tools, don't buy any rifles unless you really know what you're doing, in general your starting weapons are all pretty good. Playing medic and reviving people, plus playing during 2x XP events (usually during holidays) is a fast way of getting certs.
Exception to good starting weapons are many vehicles and the MAX.

The game is just as hard to run now as it was before; every legitimate optimization they've done has been offset by some absurdly high res texture or particle effect that never goes away, even at low settings.
There are a fuckload of people playing right now. I wouldn't recommend playing it alone, but it's pretty fun to have a squad of anons going. We've been fielding 30+ people on the regular, at least before the outfit got BTFO. I'm pretty sure that'll recover in time, since the patch is new and the fact that the outfit got BTFO has already turned into a meme.
As a new player right now, you get a fuckload of certs. Don't waste them- invest into one class or vehicle you like a lot first and learn to play it deeply. Medic and Heavy Assault are always safe bets but not for everyone, and certing for a good Sunderer makes you everyone's favorite.
Try out a wide range of guns in the "VR training" zone before you buy any of them. They're free to use there and you can test in a variety of situations.

It currently has more than it has had in a very long time, and the two main servers that you probably should be playing on (Emerald and Miller) had a consistent ~1000 players about 3 hours before and after peak hours (circa 19:00 in their respective timezones) before the escalation update, but currently both of those servers are peaking at over 2000 and 3000.

Your first investments should be your repair tool and medical applicator on the Engineer and Medic. Get them to max level, or one level below max level if you don't want to make that last (pretty expensive) upgrade. After that, if you should get a medkit syringe in the utility slot, preferably 2 levels of it. Equip it on everyone since it's pretty cheap and will make you a lot more survivable. Make sure to attach 1x optics on everything, you get free ones on all your guns but the pistol and sniper.
If you want to buy guns, try to do it after you have already auraxiumed (gotten 1160 kills) on your default gun of the same type, unless you don't have one of the same type by default (SMG, bolt action rifle if you aren't NC, pump action shotgun.)
Aim at the head, fire in bursts.

As it stands every new account I make on any email gets thrown into limbo permanently without a message telling me it has been banned or anything as soon as I launch PS2 and then crash during the first time load with a failed to authenticate error and then the account becomes unusable.
