What I’m thinking happened is they made a game that ended up being a little to close in tone and gameplay to Sekiro but it doesn’t play nearly as good causing the devs or soyny to lose faith in the product. Hell, Day’s Gone had more marketing than this game is getting.

Prototype 2 was shit story wise, but when it came to gameplay and visuals, it wiped the floor with infamous. Something that was a close cometition with the first Prototype quickly turned into a bloodbath. Their characters didn't have the mainstay series like Uncharted had aswell. Normies simply didn't care about it, besides the whole "You can shoot RED ELECTRICITY or BLUE ELECTRICITY". It's pretty weird: infamous has a large chunk of it's gameplay stuck on the previous colourfull cartoon era of "fucking around doing fun shit", but surrounds it with this grim-dark world that clashes with it.
The series should have ended with the 3rd title, maybe not even that. Instead it carried on and on and on until Sucker Punch wasn't bringing in the big bucks anymore.
Also, the signs that they might have fallen in to the SJW scourge are right there. This is the last character they made. Heck, in interviews, the character and her story were the main focus not the gameplay.
After looking at her again, I had to go google and make sure Cliff Blezzinsky wasn't the designer for this thing.
She's actually cuter in-game, and has a nice voice, the script is terrible thought. Not Borderlands 3 terrible, just a step bellow meh.

The story is what pissed me off the most, not only did it have a prequel shitty comic by hacks like most AAAshit at the time but it didn't even have a twist.

The black thing didn't bother me that much, because while overly exagerated here and there, it paled in comparsion to the worst change: Blackwatch turned into baby-killing psycopaths. No seriously, there's a mission where two of them are openly talking about killing babies.
Alex Mercer going full Linking Park was corny, stupid but hey, I can role with that.
Cole had no real motivation (or one that was actually featured throught the story) and again, that's something I don't care that much since he's just an avatar of the player.
But fucking up the characterization of Blackwatch that much killed it for me.
Protype one had them begin as this rather dangerous force you want to avoid, to them become prey, but again become a force to be reckoned once they had vehicles roaming about, to go back to prey-status once you got some upgrades and once again jump to alpha-predator when they had super-soldiers.
This allowed them to share the spotlight with the infected, in turns, keeping the enemy variety somewhat fresh throught the game.
It made them feel like a threat, then a bunch of scared soldiers, then a bunch of evil angry guys with serious firepower, to being panicked and unable to contain Mercer and back to being "We're gonna get this motherfucker!".
In P2 they're just "eheheheh, look how evil we are, fuck yeah we're evil!"

That's a pretty fucking dumb video when you consider all the variables that make it so worthless. The controller could have low batteries and twice the usual input lag or be connected over a connection that has a lot of interference for all I know, at least 1-2ms of "begin stick deflection" will be in the deadzone and going to nowhere, the display could be bottom of the barrel shit that's not even using game mode and the game could simply be running at 30 FPS while v-synced for additional latency. In the case of RDR2 it's most probably the fact that it's running at a low FPS, vsynced and the developers also happen to care about making movement "weighty" since GTA 4.

What pisses me off isn't just the lack of info and gameplay, it's the fact that despite that people are eating it the fuck up. Even saw a fuck ton of posts on 4chan saying they're hype for the game and it just blows my fucking mind. Sure, visually the game looks great but who gives a single fuck if we don't know about the gameplay? Same shit happened with Death Stranding but that game still had a couple of big gameplay showcases before launch.
The one bit of gameplay we did looked so incredibly scripted that I can't believe for a second it's real gameplay. No UI, the camera fixed itself when there was combat, combat looked too fluid and seemless. The only part that actually looked like a video game was the horesback riding and when he parkoured up the building and was walking around then did bamham style takedowns.
