These games fuck with your mind. You can't spend minutes at a time listening to the exact same coachgun shoot-reload sounds or Kleer galloping or laser noises without something getting messed up. I'm not even talking about the bizarre overdoppler thing that bombers have going on when they charge at you and miss. That was the real problem with 3, I think. It couldn't just be more of the same, but SS was an entire series based on more of the same. And that wasn't a terrible thing.

I'm thinking it will be a high spec title but optimized extremely well. Croteam seem to the last of the old guard who seem to care about optimization and having their games run as smooth as possible. I'm looking forward to seeing if they can pull off the promised 100,000 enemies on screen at once.

That's becasue nobody in Croatia can afford a good computer because the average paycheck is around 500$-650$ a month and computer parts are still at burger prices. That is, unless you, of course, know someone from a big political party, because that's pretty much the only way to get a job that actually pays reasonably well.

I'm guessing it'll be the old standby guns, because my no-evidence feeling is that only a handful of battles will be 100k dudes large. For these biggest battles maybe you'll get bigger versions of your usual weapons–they'll give you an aircraft chain gun on a gay little cart to push around in the arena or something.

I believe vehicles are supposed to play a role in the game, so I assume besides the harvester you will have access to tanks and the like. Failing that and they expect us to battle 100,000 enemies on foot I hope they put down a lot of minigun and serious cannon ammo. It looks like we will need it.

My problem with kleers is that there’s no actual strategy or grace with dodging them, you just strafe in any direction. I think they can be improved if they took a bit longer to jump at you and just before launching, theyd change their trajectory depending on where you are moving.

I also dislike the hitscan enemies but that can’t be helped unfortunately

I personally do not have a problem with how the Kleers are. Saying there is not strategy or grace with them is kind of the point. They are mostly used as cannon fodder for you to mow down in droves the other times they are used as a clever way to teach you about priority targeting much how like DOOM teaches you to treat chaingunners or shotgunners as priority when a fight breaks out. I do agree the hitscan enemies need to be toned down. The worst enemies in SS3 for me were the grunts and the red scorpions. Fuck them.
