GDC 2020 has been canceled
>Well, after what I’m sure was a hectic few days for the folks planning the Game Developers Conference in San Francisco, the team announced today that they have officially decided to cancel the event happening this March, saying in a blog post that they hoped they would be able to reschedule an event for “later in the summer.”
>In recent days, nearly all of the event’s top corporate sponsors announced that they would not be sending employees to the event due to concerns surrounding coronavirus. Microsoft, Unity, Epic, Amazon, Facebook and Sony had all bowed out of the event. GDC’s statement did not reference the virus.
>The company behind GDC detailed that they will be refunding conference and expo attendees in full, though a blog post details that the group hopes to host a GDC event later in the summer, noting, “We will be working with our partners to finalize the details and will share more information about our plans in the coming weeks.”
>GDC is just the latest tech conference to be shuttered in the wake of worldwide concern surrounding the outbreak of coronavirus. Yesterday, Facebook announced it would be canceling the in-person component of its F8 conference and we have already seen the cancellation of GSMA‘s Mobile World Congress in Barcelona.

If anything, Mongolian types are genetically classified as having higher features of neotony (softer infantile features, hairlessness, shorter leg limbs). A sign of further evolutionary progression away from other primates. Not a regression.
Their fault is culture. I don't know where it went wrong, but a branch of Mongoloid types developed some of the more disgusting diets in history. For some reason though, /pol/ consider East Asians more evolved, but they're actually the ones with the sick food habits. I wonder if this new insight into China will make them reconsider? Probably not. Either way, it was some in the southeastern branch that domesticated dogs (even before Caucasoids) before anyone and didn't eat shit like bats or consume the urine of little boys.

Looks can be deceiving. Another case of neotony is the large brain pan of humans compared to other primates. Mongoloids have the largest. You're just being obtuse if you think that guy has as low an IQ as a person with Down's Syndrome (the brains of Down's develop significantly altered and smaller unlike Mongoloids).

Wrong. Evolution does "just happen". Mutations that are detrimental to living in a particular environment naturally die out resulting in ones that are helpful for living in said environment surviving. There's no overarching plan here. in an environment where intelligence was detrimental for whatever reason, an organism would evolve to be come less intelligent.

>There's no overarching plan here.
The overarching plan is men didn't want chicks who looked like apes. At least, that would be one element of the plan. It just so happened to produce cuter offspring of both sexes over time.
Another theory could be that in societies with less competitiveness and lots of resources to spread around (which would be the case in rice based cultures in Asia), people resorted more to lives of "play" and living much more closely together. Instead of developing traits to scare the shit out of their enemies, they bred traits that were more disarming and retained a sense of youth/infantilism. All humans have done this across the board. It's just that Asians did it more.

I'm not disputing you on cold weather necessarily, but why would that be the case with resources? Seems to me that less resources would lead to more toil and/or more predatory behavior and time dedicated to fighting for resources instead (and less time dedicating to play/creation/or thinking).
Without a good food source (and the means of storing it), we still see some isolated tribes who work themselves to death all day, just to create one day's meal. They have no time to think. No time to just "veg" out in front of campfire even. Just work, eat, then sleep. Rinse/Repeat. In thousands of years, they didn't create one inventor or philosopher or much art.

His teachings are in the Bible. You can just read it, look at the behavior and doctrine of various groups, and see who's following them. Catholics, for instance, can be ruled out because of Matthew 23:9.

This cannot be true because of 1 Peter 1:23-25 (you could do something like deny that Paul's letters are Scripture, but the whole premise here is that China is being punished for trying to rewrite the Bible).

For example early fathers of the church believed that all "pagan" gods existed, but they were demons and servants of satan. This was ruled out during the medieval ages. Also I fail to see how this passage disavows Marcionism or other sects like Arianism. Dominance of a particular sect was purely a matter of military power.

>Like Matthew 10:34, Jesus says he doesn't bring peace but the sword, but his other passages instruct to obey authority and turn the other cheek.
A couple of things to point out here. First, Jesus isn't talking just about violence here, and isn't commanding His followers to wield a sword against His enemies. He's talking about division, as He says in Luke 12:51. The sword is not just literal. The metaphor of the word of God as a sword is seen again in Revelation 19. Second, Christ's admonitions to obey earthly authorities and refrain from violence are tactical, specific advice and not universal laws, as proven when He takes up a whip against the moneychangers in the temple and when He says that His disciples would fight to protect Him if His kingdom were of this world (John 18:36).
>Or other issues like how did Mary remain a virgin after the birth of Jesus.
This isn't in the Bible, this is Catholic idolatry. In the Bible, Jesus had brothers.
>Or trinitarianism.
Not contradictory.
>Then how is the religion supposed to be monotheistic if other gods exist but are ruled to be demons?

No one said they were actual "gods" in the first place. They were always demonic LARPers. After the larping largely was diminished and the Church reshaped some lands, demons were cast out and wandered, looking for other homes, taking less "godly" form, but harmful all of the same. Ironically, they made their home in many of the very people who were once monotheists (Jews). When the Jewish priests said "his blood on us and on our children", they became cursed and free game for demons like they never were in Old Testament times. Roles were reversed. What pagan lands experienced before now fell upon Jews (but not that they are exclusive to it… demons are still active wherever the Church is absent. It just so happens that Jews are some of the biggest game).

Just to add, this isn't anything new exactly or late medieval thought either. Even Church Fathers said this:
>Even if there is no idol there, still demons do inhabit the place. And I say this not only about the synagogue here in town but about the one in Daphne as well; for at Daphne you have a more wicked place of perdition which they call Matrona's. I have heard that many of the faithful go up there and sleep beside the place.
>
>But heaven forbid that I call these people faithful. For to me the shrine of Matrona and the temple of Apollo are equally profane. If anyone charges me with boldness, I will in turn charge him with the utmost madness. For, tell me, is not the dwelling place of demons a place of impiety even if no god's statue stands there? Here the slayers of Christ gather together, here the cross is driven out, here God is blasphemed, here the Father is ignored, here the Son is outraged, here the grace of the Spirit is rejected. Does not greater harm come from this place since the Jews themselves are demons? In the pagan temple the impiety is naked and obvious; it would not be ease to deceive a man of sound and prudent mind or entice him to go there. But in the synagogue there are men who say they worship God and abhor idols, men who say they have prophets and pay them honor. But by their words they make ready an abundance of bait to catch in their nets the simpler souls who are so foolish as to be caught of guard.
>
>So the godlessness of the Jews and the pagans is on a par. But the Jews practice a deceit which is more dangerous. In their synagogue stands an invisible altar of deceit on which they sacrifice not sheep and calves but the souls of men.
>- St. John Chrysostom 386 AD

So the worship of the God's mother is idolatry?
>Not contradictory.
How is a claim that there is one God but in three forms not contradictory? To anyone who takes it at face value and without any theological spin it doesn't make sense.
>They're not gods. They're demons mistakenly called gods by others.
In the Classical sense, the Greek word "daemon" meant a supernatural entity, not necessarily hostile to humans. The Christian theology subverted this word to mean an explicitly evil spirit that preys on people just because it's bad. What boggled my mind when I read about it is the fact that Christians used to (or still do, like you say, which is even worse) believe that the old gods exist, but just ignore their original depictions and characteristics. It's just pure ignorance, especially that Ancient gods were never worshipped like the Christian god is - the Hellenic pantheon was: 1. a way to explain natural phenomena, 2. artistic or poetic expression, 3. civic rites that connected the inhabitants of the city, and 4. purely emotional experience in response to an innate need to be in contact with the supernatural, which is the same reason why many people take LSD or mushrooms. So Christian theology basically turned everything on its head because they had the last word, and redefined the other faiths as it suited their fancy.
>No one said they were actual "gods" in the first place.
Their followers said so, established it hundreds of years before Christianity and reaffirmed it in countless works of art and architecture. Early Christians obviously saw it as competition, and agitating against them was purely political expediency.
>After the larping largely was diminished and the Church reshaped some lands
You mean destroyed the sculptures, ruined the temples and murdered the worshippers because they were driven in a fanatical religious frenzy. I can understand that nothing proves the god's superiority than political and military victory of his followers, so at that time these actions made sense, war is a continuation of politics. Xerxes felt the same when he thought he had won the war and bragged, leaving his inscription in Persepolis, that he has destroyed the Athenian temples where devils were worshipped. One of very many parallels between Zoroastrianism and Christianity; both are built on the same foundation of eternal conflict between cosmic good and evil.
>Ironically, they made their home in many of the very people who were once monotheists (Jews)
Jews were never monotheists, YHWH was one of their tribal gods that they decided to give primacy, and turned to henotheism (belief in many gods but giving priority to one). "Thou shall not have other gods BEFORE me".

The worship of someone who isn't God is idolatry. Jesus himself makes it clear that Mary shouldn't be worshiped in Luke 11:27-28.
I've never understood modern pagans' tendency to downplay literal belief in gods. Your ancestors believed the gods were real. They made sacrifices to them, much as the Israelites made sacrifices to God.
>If Jews are so godless then why did the fathers decide to adopt purely Semitic Old Testament as a part of the scripture?
The godless "Jews" Chrysostom is referring to are the Synagogue of Satan, the physical and spiritual descendants of the ones who rejected Christ, which entails rejection of the Father as well. The Israelites of the Old Testament worshiped God the Father. Revelation makes a clear distinction between the two, and tells us the former are lying when they claim to be the latter.

Are you even paying attention? I - and church fathers - said that the roles were merely reversed. Church fathers fully admit that Jews once had the oracles of the true God, but debased themselves only later. This doesn't diminish anything about the Old Testament. The Church sees itself as the heir. The New Testament explains this as well.
And no one "massacred" the Marcionites. What kind of alternate history are you learning from? They didn't touch a hair on any of them. It's Christians who suffered throughout this period. Stop projecting victimization on people who had none. Marcion actually won over Roman leadership, much like Gnostics and other sects did. They had the same airs of neoplatonic thinking that was already popular and "en vogue" among all pagan philosophers at the time. In Marcion's case, it just had a slightly "Christian" bent to it (and barely that. He didn't believe Jesus was even the Messiah). Marcionites died out for the same reasons Gnostics did: They didn't actually help anyone and were only for elitists. They were more inclined to teaching "mystery" and ran in enclaves with special rites and initiation. Much like mystery cults and secret societies do now. A movement can't sustain itself if 1) it doesn't care to help common folk and 2) loses support of wealthy benefactors.

I thought the definition of intelligence they use would be something like "this bird has been seen in the wild to teach itself how to solve a problem using a tool," not "we can teach this bird how to solve a problem using a tool." The lab work is done to set up a situation that the bird can teach itself how to solve to show in a controlled environment that it can teach itself a new skill, or watch another bird and learn from it, or whatever. Even "does that object still exist if I can't see it" is a factor in intelligence research.
