Zombie Master: Reborn is the revival of an abandoned Half-Life 2 mod, the mod mixes up both FPS and RTS elements where the survivors must fight through a horde of zombies and avoid dangerous traps controlled by the incarnation of evil: the Zombie Master.
ZMR is current in Beta version 5, the mod has been re-built in Source 2013 and contains various fixes to the bugs of the original mod along with a new new HUD, new weapons, new models and animations, improvements to the zombie path finding, matching viewmodel arms, survivor AI, a new zombie selection menu and the ability for map makers to create their own custom weapons.

GMod zombie survival is a terrible gamemode, just like those from CS:S or any other zombie conversion mode.
It just consists of an endlessly respawning zombie team brainlessly rushing a chokepoint and dying, until either a resource is whittled down or a player fucks up, in which case the human team is directly penalized by having one less gun to shoot at the zombies, and the zombie team is rewarded by having another bulletsponge body rush into the chokepoint to die.
It's a shit gamemode by any metric, and the only thing that's actually enjoyable about it is the meta aspect like community, or barricade building.

that's what makes it fun, either the human team is completely wiped once the fast zombies come out because nobody barricaded properly/at all, or they last until the last wave, pushed all the way back to their last defense with just seconds left before they would've died. map design also plays a huge aspect, some maps are just plain shit making the only place to barricade down a longass hallway with no cover, fuck off, while others actually require thinking on both teams' parts (you could just keep bumrushing their main barricade and dying, or you could get a flesh creeper to set up a spawn point that flanks them from behind to their weaker barricade, or use one of the bosses to passive buff the other zombies or push the humans further back into their barricade by puking on them from a distance)
it's fun for me, you just need the right kind of autism to appreciate it

You ever actually play as zombie master? Banshees are the only reliable way to get damage in, and even that's only because players never quite figured out 'walk backwards diagonally while shooting'. Everything else is a bullet sponge only worth using to drain ammo. Add in the hard zombie limit and the tendency of players to just run around them and banshees are about the only thing that make sense to buy nearly all the time. There are non-zombie things too of course but everyone already knows the triggers making them useless. tl;dr game is neat but needs a rebalance.
