Looks alright but I don't really like the art direction. The music is OK though, but the overuse of synth lately (80s nostalgia wave can go away now) has me bit bored.

I'm not fond of it either, but it could be a hell of a lot worse. It looks more uninspired than anything, like they couldn't find an art direction and decided to just ape the Wonderboy remake. It doesn't really work for a Streets of Rage title.

He's fine from a design point I think, but again a bit uninspired. Basically a Pacific Islander version of Jax, which mechanically fills the role of Max/Haggar. I'd probably warm to the character more if it weren't for the above-mentioned art style. The biggest sin of the character is the voice acting, which sounds weak and bored, and doesn't fit the type of character they designed at all. I wonder if he can open his own Soy Latte bottles with those big metal arms of his.

I'm guessing SJW devs are behind this since they always ruin franchises with their "infinite win of epic" manchild bullshit. They always add stuff like cyborgs and mechsuits and Star Wars-y crap to places they don't belong.

When did beat em ups start doing this because I want the person who made this the trend to be put on trial for it, it removes incentive from going back and forth enemies in fights and instead just juggle combo the one you already have to death.
Castlecrashers did it but that wasn't meant to be a hard game from my understanding and just madness for the sake. Scott Philgrim did it but that game also thought giving bosses telegraphed dash attacks when one of the first skills get or can unlock is a parry was a good idea too.

Western SJW devs are all like that: they get the details but also completely miss the point at the same time. The robots in the original nip games were meant to give it a goofy vibe and Zan was intentionally made so over the top for raughs, not to mention gimmicky mechanics. Soybeard devs on the other hand see things like that and took it seriously like the eternal manchildren that they are.

Overall in beat em ups the difficulty is micro managing enemies around you while being able to single one out to get a clean in on them, this is why most beat em ups will spawn infinite mooks mid fight instead of being a 1v1, if you can just combo a single enemy to death it takes away from managing to get a hit by making thinning enemy packs and your combo is most of the time going to carry you distance to offset any negative just doing an oversight jab jab infinite.
