Why are normalfags so fucking close to rationalizing what makes a good game, but then completely missing the point? For instance, even the most turbo-retard normalfaggot acknowledges that Bethesda games are mechanically and creatively dumbed down from their predecessors and full of stupid flaws, but then happily ignore them and prop them up as the best games of all time.

Or they complain about Call of Duty, but then continue to play Bioshock Infinite, etc. even though there's no reasonable difference in quality.

How do you miss the mark so fucking hard?

Because garbage can be enjoyable.

Mechanical intricacy isn't linearly translatable to enjoyability

And, you idiot, gaming is a form of social credit first for a lot of people, and the concept that it's a major (and popular) game is enough to get a normal fag to play it.

They completely lack standards. They have a cognition of what a good game is, which may actually be good, but all a company needs to do is lie hard enough and Reddit will eat it up and ask for seconds

Lower standards and no principles with respect to things like monetization and casualization. These are the same people who play mobile games, remember. Also, plenty of them buy into the idea that games being mechanically dumbed down is "streamlining" away things that didn't need to exist in the first place. Couple that with good graphics and you've hooked them. Really, though, to answer these questions you can read what they say in reviews. They aren't lying. If they say they like something, they probably honestly like it, even if it's something that seems abhorrent or badly designed. There's no accounting for taste. McDs makes objectively poor food, but people enjoy and even like it. They'll even defend it. It doesn't mean they're necessarily addicts or anything, but it might mean they just have bad taste or are unable to differentiate it from higher-quality food. Ultimately, they do the same things that we do: they ask themselves "is this fun" and they somehow manage to come up with the answer "yes."

>Why are normalfags so fucking close to rationalizing what makes a good game, but then completely missing the point?

The thing is they only make surface-level observation because they are not actually "close" to rationalizing what makes a good game. They have no intention of acquiring taste, because it is much more preferable for them to play what the crowd plays for a limited amount of time and then move on according to the crowd.

>For instance, even the most turbo-retard normalfaggot acknowledges that Bethesda games are mechanically and creatively dumbed down from their predecessors and full of stupid flaws, but then happily ignore them and prop them up as the best games of all time.

This is not even close to true. If any true normalfaggot has ever said this, then it is only because someone else said it, they didn't actually play multiple games in the series and come to their own conclusion. A video game to normalfags is not an artwork to be broken down or criticized as if they are reading Shakespeare in High School, and it's unreasonable to expect them to "hit the mark" when they don't see video games as such. They are simply a mind-numbing form of entertainment to the normalfag, and to them it is ridiculous to criticize a game for reasons you might think is rational as long as the game is fun and addictive (or as long as their favorite blue-haired YouTuber is suggesting it).

I think regarding normalfags, it's just a fashion accessory, and also a matter of what's cool and IN to stream. It's a whole culture of rejects that have hardly ever played a game but watched some faggot stream it. They're looking more for the side-entertainment factor than wholly alone what a game itself offers. All the while pissing and moaning about muh immuhrshen. Fucking focus, nigger brains.

Modern Blender and GIMP UIs are good. GIMP just changes the colours a bit.

Blender's original UI was complete dogshit and I think this is the best they can do. However, it seems like EVERY Blender has some minor UI tweaks which means older tutorials become hard to follow because they relied on some button being in a specific menu,

Luckily, 2.8 seems to have plenty of docs/tutorials.

Plenty of FOSS software tries to be innovative, different, or adopt some outside platform's interface design for no good reason. I thought they'd do better copying popular closed software's interfaces, but I guess that doesn't always happen (patent/copyright reasons? I dunno). Windows has done it too, I guess, but their cycles of releases in which it happens are long compared to open source stuff, and they're usually pretty bad about hiding it well enough so that people can't find it.

A massive amount of people are completely incapable of realizing it's possible to enjoy something while also recognizing that it is of poor quality. For normalfags, this usually means denying any criticism or at the very least insisting that it's only a nitpick, regardless of how major it may be. For /v/, you often see the opposite, the assertion that no enjoyment can or should be derived from a flawed game. Of course, in many cases these assertions are less about enjoying something for what it is and more about what that thing represents.

Frankly I would take all of your criticisms and say that schools nowadays don't really teach how to criticize or argue points in what content is being presented to students (along with teachers not being able to grade without bias) to advance media or solidify what is good in media. I would bet that people would be more vocal with problems that they notice but they can't put it into words as they have never spent that time arguing against what is just told to them as good. That is why discussions just degenerate into the same talking points in social media and basic herd mentality is applied instead of a methodical and nuanced approach because most don't know better. I guess it is just me but I feel like I have had to learn that by spending too much time on the internet.

There's a market for it because Shakespeare is often included in public education's literature classes. A lot of literally who books get awards, and so forth that no one even hears about because some academic circlejerk considers it good. And I'm not surprised that SJWs are trying to recreate "legacy" the same ways by having friends in press and academia praise their shitty artsy game / walking simulator that hardly anyone actually likes to play other than to appear cultured or progressive.

Legitimate interest in topic can't be forced through grades except maybe for the kind of students that suck up to teachers or want to appear smart. There shouldn't be any real surprise that an abridged version of Shakespeare's work exists, along with SparkNotes and so forth.

English teachers, at least the ones I had in high school, would try to sell the appeal of Shakespeare as being the amount of double entendres and insults his writing had (at least the comedies). I guess it worked to some degree, as I didn't really see other students bored by it, but the fact most still couldn't read very well even by twelfth grade didn't help matters. You know it's bad when during mandatory read-alouds, you'd just want it to get to your turn already so some timely progress could actually be made.

You can have a derisive attitudes towards "the masses", but don't be blind towards the other aspects of literature such as publishing. It's fairly gatekept that for example, if your science fiction book doesn't "have enough jetpacks" then the publisher either will ask you to change it or decline publishing it, and so forth.

When I was younger, I thought Skyrim was cool as fuck and Oblivion was a great ass fucking game, I also liked a lot of shit i have distaste for now, what we have to actually consider is that normalfags are kids, or people who joined games LATE in life.

For the second part, let's say they get into a job, people talk at the watercooler about video games, they want to get into it and get into the shallows titles that are watercooler talk. Then they become "gamers".

This is called a shifting demographic in marketing 101, at least the class I went to. It's why you never really need to change your product, old people get tired of your thing but if you sell it again, new people will get into it, new people with no prior standards, and then you have them hooked.

> mechanically and creatively dumbed down from their predecessors and full of stupid flaws

The fact that you are looking at that, acknowledging that they have admitted to doing it deliberately, and you are still trying to attribute these traits to stupidity indicates to me that it is you who are missing the mark.

Pic related is a case in point. Do you have any idea how much money they have made on this? Game makers are businesses, OP. Just like any other, they are very easy to understand if you remember that their sole purpose is not to cater to what you want. Or what any group of users want. Their sole purpose is to make money. With margins so tight in the gaming industry they simply have no choice but to cater to the group with the deepest pockets. That is not us anymore. It is the phoneposters and children. Wake up…the ride is over. What you are looking at it the state of gaming, and only the first leg of its separation from people our age, and users of PC and console. Apps lower costs. Wonky apps with clunky navigation and movement are par for the course. Anons playing on their phones expect it. And kids with phones is a completely new and untapped market. Turns out moms who are phone addicts are quick to get their kids in on it, and are willing to pay top dollar for the apps their kids want.

There is by comparison, no money in games like COD or Bioshock. The cost difference to them is enormous! You are talking a staff of 200 cutting down to 24. The HR savings alone is astronomical! Plus increased ad revenue. It is a no brainer to them. That is why they are all heading in that direction…slowly, but surely.

In 40 years they will look at us having a LAN party like we look at the grannies in the Catskills playing Mah-Johng on the porch.

Well that's fucking meaningless. I could look up Battleborn porn on three different IP's and that'd be a 300% increase on the number of "users" who looked it up.

Besides, pron is private and usually gotten for free but you have to pay for the privilege of having that turd grace your bookshelf.

I have a shitload of fetishes that change day by day as I get tired of them and move on, like a bowl of candy. No one looks attractive to me anymore because to me, the body has become a simple form and mask, and it's now less the act of sex, but the pure, raw, unfiltered emotion and anguish of life that turns me on.

The body, the main attraction, no longer has any effect on me. The intricacies of the mind, how it withers in it's weakest unthinking moments of ecstasy and temptation, seeing another person's soul, the truth of a person, the core of a person, the raw naked truth of the mind with all masks torn away, god it turns me on. I want to see a future where people make their own bodies, not to mask their insecurities or make up for what they lack, but to demonstrate the raw truth of that person. I want a future where the raw, primal mass of humanity is no longer denied and we are finally set free as the intellectual beasts we are, with no denial, no lies, no masks.

I'm fucked up. I recognize that. But i'm human.

But whatever the fuck this rick and morty birthday party shit is, it scares me more then myself. The sheer lack of empathy and complete preference of a fake reality over something real that loves him, right in front of him, someone who can make him whole as a person, someone who can rock his fucking world

and he picks the fucking cartoon?

He literally hit the jackpot on a 3D woman who genuinely LOVES him! Someone who can share in his intimate moments, someone who can see him for who he really is and someone he can see in turn, someone who flies past all the bullshit just for him. All of us know just how RARE that is. Life has handed him the golden goddamned ticket. A virtuous woman. Someone willing to GO THE FUCKING DISTANCE.

I'm screaming inside and I can feel my frontal lobe fucking pulsing. I looked that shit up and that's where the emotional center of the brain is.

I can feel my FUCKING BRAIN SCREAMING AT ME FROM WHERE THE RAGE COMES FROM

I didn't think that was possible.

I think in academia a 100 years ago the difference in the quality of education was massive. As in, those who were uneducated were literally illiterate, while those who *were* educated were exposed to a more profound and in-depth curriculum.

Today's education is more accessible but the curriculum is also much shallower. More people can read but they're not reading anything beyond a 7th grade level.

Some people can, but when people were educated back in those days, they could all "read" beyond that level in all courses with few exceptions, even given the mostly fallacious sciences of the time.

People ARE NOT taught well anymore. School's a prison, at least in America, and the streets are filled with prisoners in the grand slum. And the other countries aren't doing much better, with it coming out in China that despite the constant and opressively heavy courses, the kids don't even do well because the education is just shit and the course numbers are flubbed constantly to secure funding from the CCP and also because the CCP is constantly trying to save face.

And the joke is that funding constantly gets cut for schools, with curriculums like Common Core being implemented constantly to fuck with the kids further.

And this bubble's gonna pop. Uneducated masses make for very easily moved masses, and that can be easily used against the establishment as soon as the wind blows unfavorably.

And we're about to see that start in China with the plauge. China's been the "Big Investment". All the eggs in the basket are cracked. This is subtly going to effect the rest of the world's economies, and the rush to secure other investments is going to create a shitload of chaos. A lot of wind is going to blow, the direction's unknown. And so, whatever the fuck's going to happen, it begins.

There's not much to do for married couples other then dating or watching TV together. America just has more shit, and lots of artists due to the entertainment industry, which is THE MOST developed entertainment industry in the world, which includes shitloads of artists, most of which can't find stable jobs working for companies because it's a low demand, high supply (in employees) type of job.

So, naturally, the artists make bank by porn and weird commissions like this. Say no to a commission, bye bye future artist income.

Because they can't grasp the concept of objectivity, or more over, they are scared of the fact that what they enjoy might be shit and are afraid that their product that they enjoy might not be good.

The thing is that it's completely fine for you to enjoy something even if it's shit, that's where subjectivity comes in and where your personal tastes come in.

I had this discussion just the other day with a normalfag, I even asked him if X game had a better netcode wouldn't it be an objectively better game, and the fucker even replied with yes but then even after that this guy continues on with how it's impossible to be objective and subjectivity is all that matters.

>Church map has a rube goldberg machine series of explosives that was meant to be started by the newlyweds after the ceremony by throwing grenades into a small hole that would drop them down where they were wedded after they moved out from under it

>It was team slayer brides team and grooms team each spawned inside one of the hallways which lead to teleports.

>Purpose of the hallways was so the bride and groom could join first and pick up the only grenades so nobody could screw it up

>Autistic member that the second in command vetoed kicking from the group is invited for some reason

>He starts acting up and being annoying

>Clan leader uses a sticky to kill him

>He re-spawns in the hallway

>They forgot to disable the respawn timer on the grenades and he picks up grenades

>Imminently goes straight back to the wedding room and tosses the grenades into the holes setting off the reaction early resulting in the explosives dropping down on the bride and groom

>He is told to leave the game

>He leaves that game

>Everyone leaves the party so the bride and groom can have their alone time on the Honeymoon map

american gun obsession is compensation for lack of an actual warrior culture while tranny porn and weed aren't values to die for so for all the larping of

>muh boogaloo I'm gonna kill so many niggers, spics, evil cops and governments

the reality is an american gets redflagged and hands over his weapons, or buries his weapons in the forest then forgets about them

The closest to a warrior culture america has is Bloods and Crips but those are just two groups of niggers gangbanging in a ghetto, however niggers have more IQ than lolbergs and understand team dynamics on a instinctual level perhaps.

While it is correct that you can't have a totalitarian government with muh drones and tanks, a SWAT TEAM will BTFO any single individual with no retaliation if they designate him "domestic terrorist, racist, nazi or hwite supremacist" either before hand, or if they're extra cheeky post-factum like what was it, ruby ridge, waco?

2nd ammendment doesn't say "hurr durr I can shove a SAIGA-12 up my asshole and shoot bottles with bubba", it means that MILITIAS, organized groups of citizens should act instead of standing army and be armed with whatever they agree is the best set of weaponry.

You people still miss the point of normalnigger behaviour, it's not that they don't know, it's that they don't care. Shit just happens to them, they don't care to analyze it deeply and so just follow the flow. Normalfags just prop up whatever's hyped-up no matter the flaws because it's what's right in front of them and doesn't take any effort. They only acknowledge the flaws in Bethesda games because some turbo-nerd dropped a giant list of flaws and normalfags just go "relatable lol" thus they copy paste those same points into conversation to sound smart. They don't see the flaws as an issue because they believe have better things to do than think about them.

If you don't have someone to remind them of the negatives they will outright forget their existance. It's fucking crazy how most people just go through everything without thought but that's how it is.

You're trying way too hard to undermine the consciousness of the average person. Most people out there focus on some combination of their school, health, and career, then entertainment being second, third, or further down priority. When that's the case how good or bad a video game is takes a backseat when an athelete or sports player follows a daily routine to work out or eat healthy, when they study for an exam (i.e discipline and self-control), or plan New Years Resolutions— mundane, but that's why they're called normalfags. But that also means they didn't pay as much attention to SJW shit, and so forth in media, and is why they at least fundamentally appreciate a turbo nerd's dissection of bad game.

You can easily imagine the type of person where entertainment instead takes a priority over family, health, and career, which is the overweight— already indicating lack of self-control or long-term planning— autist shut-in that either lives his life or supplements his world view through assumptions of photo [shoots] of other people, sometimes fashion models, and e-celebrities.
