It doesn't have to be based on a particular series/franchise. Here's how it would be for me:

>different types of mechas (could either be the size of mobile suits from gundam or size of nightmares from code geass)

>instead of fighting other humans in mechas you fight eldritch-style monsters

>fights take place on earth, underground, and space

>fights are 4v1 akin to monster hunter

>can have mechas that are a cross between mechanical and organic compound like an eva

>can customize your mecha for combat and look purposes, and customize weapons

>obviously have multiplayer

>have a "raid" mechanic where instead of 4v1 it becomes 8v1 for some giant boss

>have quality of life shit like having your own room to customize and a social hub for players

Some mix of Earth Defense Force and Godzilla.

Maybe that's more about the environment and not the mechs.

Gonna expand a little bit more on the ideas:

>combat will be like monster hunter but a little more difficult and actually require a level of teamwork

>in monster hunter you have to heal yourself with potions, in this game you would have to eject yourself from your mecha and repair it like you would have to in gundam battle operation

>as you're repairing you would obviously need players to cover you

>size of mechas and parts equipped to mechas differ in repair rate/defense/agility and other attributes

>for example a smaller mecha (like a nightmare size) would repair faster than a bigger mecha (like a gundam size) but have less defense

>you would need to purchase parts with in-game currency and reach a certain level for some parts

>the eva-type mechas would be stronger overall but require both mecha parts and organic parts from the monsters you defeat to create

I guess my ideal mecha game would be something like Final Fantasy Tactics. You could recruit/build different types of mechs, maybe even add in a mechanic for recruiting pilots. Each mech type could use different types of parts, weapons, and equipment. It's simple, but I'll like it.

My idea's a lot like yours, but more like EDF with a combined arms approach; power-armored troops evacuate citizens and take out smaller monsters while mechs, tanks and planes take on the big guys. The campaign starts with limited loadout options but customization ramps up as tech is researched/captured and the nations of the world start sharing information and making their equipment compatible with each other. Eventually the campaign goes galactic when the aliens shunt Earth through a portal to their home system, humans fly over to the homeworld and fuck it up, and the other alien race that the first aliens were fighting on the side turns out to be even worse, so you gotta go kick their asses too with the remnants of the first alien race helping you.

That would probably make a sick ass anime too, a bit like gurren lagan maybe?

If I had the money and the know how I would fund and develop the shit out of yours and OP's game.

In fact if I had a game studio I think I would just dedicate it to making games out of anons ideas.

There were those pics about a mechanic girl doing maintenance on her mech in the middle of the desert.

Pretty great wallpapers but I can't find them anymore.

They made me think about Mechs not just as a vehicle but rather a transport and living space.

Best Mecha game would be about assembling your own Mecha from spare parts to take on missions around the world. They aren't all combat, but that's always something that can happen in your journey.

Some sections require that you come out and explore things on foot but when shit hits the fan, you get back into your mech and either run or fight whatever showed up.

Some survival elements thrown there, you have to eat and your Mech needs fuel, scavenging for supplies gives you not just scrap but also food\fuel or you can take it from enemy wreckage.

Game revolves around traveling between isolated outposts and bringing them stuff they need, taking care of local threats or explore nearby regions. Some outposts are actually military bases and there are factions that roam the world too.

Basically, Stalker but you travel the overworld inside your Mecha and use it to fight anything bigger than a car. Rest of the time, you're scavenging and interacting with the locals.

The point of the game would be to create the very best mech you can to fight your way down some well guarded ancient facility. Fluff says it's an automated advanced factory that makes food and mech parts easily, so you're set for life. Alternatively, you could help one of the factions to beat the others or get to that facility as well.

Enemies also include the local fauna ranging from small animals to kaiju-sized monsters.

I guess if I were to make a mecha game I keep on thinking about games that I played a long time and could consistently have fun with and go back to so it would be like

>Takes place in 2200, humanity is expanding into space and is now beginning to terraform planets/moons

>Mechas are now humanitys best friend when it comes to general utility, warfare or even crime

>Arma-ish but with mechs but with high variations

>Combat would be highly physics and tool based

>Be inspired by games like BOTW or MGSV where you have the tools but can just go wild with it and do crazy shit that I never intended to happen

>Custom and private servers

>Multiple gamemodes ranging from bossfight mode/territory control/team deathmatch/etc

>Extreme customization for crazy autism builds and your own style

>A FUCK TON OF WEAPONS AND PARTS

>Plenty of maps to play on

>Modding API for mods and custom maps

>Low end or maybe a bit cartoonish graphics so toasters can handle it

>Multiple campaigns/Scenarios with new expansions being added over time

>Aliens are there in the background but they are highly secretive and observant, they may come in a later update

I don't even have some kind of jewish monetization scheme with it, buy the game once and all of the content in it is yours.

I'd rather just make more content that I would think would be fun or that the community would love and sell it in huge expansion packs annually, especially if people are actually playing the damn game.

Still don't know how the mechas would generally look like design wise

basically Armored Core, but more expansive than "do missions for two warring corporations". Something where you have your own ship, or buy rides on corporate ships, to move your mecha to locations for missions, be they other planets, or just distant locations on the same planet. Maybe instanced maps that support limited multiplayer for co-op missions, arenas for duels, and such. The ability to take on extended contracts with companies for extra pay, cheaper repairs, or access to exclusive parts.

All this pipe dreaming just hurts my heart, since I know we'll never get such a game.

a6ccdd  No.16849579

A combined arms tactics game set on a post-post-apocalypse Earth that has recently recovered to the level of roughly the 1940s-50s. Mechs occasionally fall from the sky and get claimed as property by the first to recover them. The mechs all have a letter of the Greek alphabet on them, with mechs of similar styles sharing the same letter.

Mechs are piloted by named, unique hero units that have perma death. They are considerably more powerful than the tanks, planes, artillery, and infantry (who are all replaceable and purchasable with money), but still vulnerable to repeated attack.

The mechs are being sent to Earth by Iota Colony, one of many space colonies that survived the apocalypse. They predicted that, in the near future, colonizing Mars and Phobos would be possible and they wanted to have military might ready to claim the whole planet+moon for themselves and have created the reality TV series "Earth Wars" to covertly develop military technology by letting primitive Earthlings kill each other with them and taking note of what tactics and weaknesses they discover (being able to resettle Earth after the barbarians have killed themselves and they can clean house with their superior models would be a nice bonus too). This backfired when the other colonies started entering their own "teams", creating a situation where all the colonies are sending better and better tech to one-up the others. Ultimately this is all derailed when one of the factions on Earth develops nukes and the colonies invade in a desperate attempt to stop a second apocalypse.

Alternatively, a Gundam game with Newtonian space flight. It would be a UC AU where Zeon Deikun wasn't murdered and the Federation eventually gets tired of his shit and tries to shut it down by invading Side 3, unaware of the secret mobile suit project.

Brigador but with a bit more customization would probably be my ideal mech game

>tanks with legs style

>simple controls but you still have to account for weapon mounting points, loadout, elevation, line of fire, firing arc etc

>proper scale with infantry and conventional armored units

>full destructibility

>futuristic, satisfying, but still realistic weapons and artillery

>morally grey story about mercenaries committing all sorts of war crimes

>great mech designs

Since I have customizing autism, I would like a mecha game where you can build your own mecha from selecting different type of chassis, legs etc.

Each chassis has a 1-3 variants and weight limit. Select what loadout, engine type.

Something like Starsiege with more autism.

I was going to say something along the lines of this. In AC it makes sense since you're just the tools of whatever corp has their claws in you at the time, having a bit more freedom or running your own gig could lead to some fun. I don't mean Dorf Fort levels, as funny as it would be to take out the enemy ace by decapitating a nearby cow and throwing it into his intake mid-boost. Just shit like be a merc, or join an army, try to run a corp of your own, go around doing pirate shenanigans. Each has its own benefits and drawbacks, degrees of freedom vs rigidity, how easy it is to come across funds/parts/people, what factions think of you. Shit happens in the world and you can get involved or stay out, profit or get badly fucked over.

FA's Looks and general handling, V's movement Mechanics and speed, VD's weapon system, 2's Arena system, 3's AI/co-OP sorties,

All you need to add from outside that is a decent fucking story with actual characters. FA and V got the closest, but FA both of them failed. FA had no real characters besides Old King and Nobless Oblige, and V had a story and setup that could of been interesting, if it took any time at all to develop ANY of its ideas.

Also, ditch the fucking timeline and start over. Stop making Humanity be in a constant state of utterly fucked and practically post-apocolypse. There are no dramatic stakes if the world is already a burned husk.

>Either RTS or maybe Mech Warrior Like Game

>Gundam's One Year War Combined Arms warfare on Odessa is a good example where Mobile Suits, tanks, APC and Infantry fight together in tandem during battles on Earth

>Zeon vs Feddies

>Campaign would be Like Kane's Wrath Conquest Modes with players either follow Specific Missions to complete or Annilate the enemy

>No Named Characters just Generic Officers and Grunts since we don't want overpowered bullshit like the series

Sounds like a souped up and not shit version of Gundam: Target In Sight/ Gundam Crossfire.

I was very disappointed in that game, but then again, what did I expect from a PS3 launch title?

So just Gundam Battle Operation but not locked on PS3/PS4 and not locked behind Bamco's "free to play pay to keep playing" model and an actual single player a la Gihren's Greed?

Please make this happen

I'd love a mount&blade style game with mecha

>Gather up a mercenary force to dick around with and war profiteer

>Most of it would be more conventional soldiers and vehicles with you piloting one of the few mechas

>Wreck shit in battles and duel other commanders in their own mechas

>The different factions would not just have different troop types to recruit, but also have unique mech parts to customize with

>Technology advances over time so at the start of the game mecha are barely mobile machines slowly walking across the battlefield, but later on they become more advanced and agile, getting the ability to fly and shit

>Other pilots dynamically upgrade their stuff and remember past battles like the system they had in that one LOTR game

>Pilots you've recruited to your army are more fleshed out and with their behavior and loyalty changing depending on your relationship with them and their personality

That sounds awesome. Basically turning cavalry into mecha. You could force the enemy to surrender and take their mech and break it down for parts, or just pilot it yourself. And your minions could get upgraded with nuclear armour like Starship Troopers (the novel, not the movie).

I want a game that is basically battletech total warfare pre-clan invasion. infantry, tanks, mechs, aerospace, and dropships being used together in deep combined arms battles. play as the commander of a mercenary company and grow from a single lance up to having your own jump ship to transport your company around. ally with one of the factions and get a homeworld to use. sky's the limit of building or designing vehicles or mechs as long as you have the c-bills. the recent battletech game was a disappointment barely worth pirating and i have zero hope that the current owners will do anything good with the franchise.

Remake the Dreamcast version of Gundam Side Story: Rise From the Ashes Hands down, the finest Gundam game with no Gundams in it (simulator mode doesn't count), as you are piloting either a fragile-ass GM, or slow Guncannon, or the Best GM (last mission only) with more robust controls, specifically, with melee being more than a "Press A to do something".

Or Steel Battalion made by someone other than Capcom.

Sounds great. Would love it if it had full simulation of the wars going on in the background i.e enemy is low on fuel so can't field as many tanks etc.. because you blew up their oil refinery.

I'd like a 1st person mech game that looks like mechwarrior but functions like armored core 4, and blends the genres of mechsim, visual novel and eroge dating sim. You are the completely blank self-insert protagonist addressed-in-second-person leader of a new mercenary company, composed of only female pilots and crew, aside from you. You start out with just you, one mech, and a single technician girl. You go on non-linear missions that last for hours of gameplay each, you get money based on the contract, and you search for pilots to hire. Your pilots are your harem. Outside of combat, the game functions like a visual novel/dating sim. Anything you can think of, any fetish you have, you can do with the girls. The H scenes are well-illustrated, and the art-style mixes the shading and color of Mega-Man X7 with the general style of GITS 1995. You can't buy pilots, but you do have to pay them AND convince them to join. There's over twenty pilots to recruit in the game, but you can only take squads of four. Tech Dev is like nu-XCOM. The game's environments and 2/3rds of the missions are procedurally generated, and there's over 50 missions per playthrough. The soundtrack is like the first Drakengard. The story infinitely loops into itself, in a rather meta way. The story is very dark, but lit up by interactions with crew members. They constantly talk with you and each other, banter and small talk, like in NieR. The story ponders the purpose of violence in the modern day, and argues with itself over whether violence as a concept is good or bad for the human race. The setting is a bizzaro version of our solar system. The game gets extremely surreal at several points. The game is very difficult, like last raven difficult, and you may spend 10s of hours of gameplay trying to beat a single mission.

Medium sized mecha controlled by a naked shota. It'd play like armored warriors but in 3d.

Pretty much a open world rpg where you can pilot and fight along with your Mecha while exploring different worlds and doing quests. I think it should also take some inspiration from the elder scrolls and fallout games with the ideas of join or creating factions, interacting with NPCs and being able to create any build you desire.

You know I could see that being a mod, wish someone made it. Only downside is your mech wouldn't be able to fly.
