Just gonna leave this here. Been reliving the old days through my memorized accounts. AQW is a total shitshow that's become a laggy mess of mismatching artsyles, characters, and P2W items, DF is alright, and AQ is more or less the same, but also suffering from some of later design choices/replacements/redesigns, some items grind the entire client to a halt if used. They've also added in (unfortunately) fucking monster level scaling, which sometimes can utterly fuck you in either DF or AQ depending on the monster it beefs up. I will note that AQW & DF are a bit more respectable because they let you replay the generations of development it's been through in sagas, (and of course, fiding workarounds to lost or hidden content through these unpolshed archived adventures is a treat.) To note, they've fucked dragonslayers in the as with changes to the dragonblade and once cool but weak, megadragonblade, but they've updated the Darkovia subaces & class armours, Werepyre is broken as shit and makes some of the hardest crap-uneatable HP spongeshit cakewalk.
To list a number of adventures I've had so far in AQ:
Fought the Demonic undead Moglin spirit of NTR who places you in cuck-chains and made him a pet in the void. (Makes foe lose a turn, broken as shit if paired with the overlord set & icemaster Yeti guest)
Gotten 100 Hourglasses to obtain a set that turns you into the grim reaper, grinding FPS to a halt and only really being good to melee users despite literally being fucking grim reaper armour- the scythe you get trumps anything else, fuking thing hits in the 1000's if you have ironthorn equipped/high enough LCK & STR with the whole set boostiing damage output in exchange for HP cost- it's essentially a high damage anti-mage slightly crappier version of the Void set
Shilled out z-tokens to purchase a void damage weapon to make up for fights where opponents have piss-poor elemental damage modifiers and inventory slots, because my season items are really just awful investiments long-term
Attempted to make my own custom weapon, level scaling fucks me most of the time.
Done April foools quests, involving rule 63 april fools, baby-fetish april-fools and end of the world april fools - Galanoth is literally into himself
Valentines are currently active- they're er- interesting.

Levelled a bit, gotten this broke-as shit armour, bought two inventory slots with dragoncoins I have no ide how I obtined, trying to figure out where the fucking DOOM weapon salesman went, whilst trying to quest chronologically

Discovered most of my legacy classes are broken as shit, healer makes me so immortal II can take on level 75's as a 20, and suceed, writhe in anger at only beig able to obtain items from the booss I spend 45+ minutes mindlessly click managiing if I had a quest active for it, get lost a lot, and fill my inventory up to much, piss around trying to drop off items for other items- gaze upon the artystye death and my drop of FPS in a deviant-art OC nightmareworld of memes so dead I had to make a doubletake when I found something more awful than the lolcatmonorail service all those yeas ago
My Nopperabo returned, which was a plus. I don't have my fucking tuxedo anymore, and I only just remembered typing this
Still have not checked AQ3D since I fucked round with it on steam.

Don't worry about it, if you can remember the account name, character, and a shitton of details hat would ascribe you to the account, they WILL give it back to you- where you can then set up an Artix entertainment account, link it, and never have to worry for it again- they're extremely helpful and friendly, and are as good as Runescape's recovery service.

Anyway, based on my play with AQ so far.
A number of items are rare now, aways check the forums, as they may be replaced with updated ones, keep the items if stupid antedilluvianrare, or if they have an effect that is being phased out or removed/replaced by newer mechanics, unless it's too inconvinient to hold on to. There is a cault for items held between player characters on an accouunt.
>Grind zokens doing data-robbing surveys or autpiloting endless battle fests made for lower level play till you get some
>Some items wll be replaced, due to changes in their levelling variation- this can sometimes result in you getting a weapon higher than your character level, giving you an advantage.
>Level scaling. Some of the easiest quests in the past may be near impossible becasuse some mook was souped up to your exact level, they literallly took a problem in old darkovia and made it universal
>All Darkovia sub-race are viable. Vampires for ranged/mages, Werewolves for pure STR, and Hybrids for STR & INT. Each subrace shop has access to unique items better than their predessors, the armours are all redesigned and unique, offer an additional armour slot for that subrace armour, can be made into 'advanced' versions through a quest, and all have a guest summon and attribute boost ability & toggable second form that consumes SP/MP that is broken as fuck. Vampire/Werepyres are EZ best choice because of their CHA and LCK being perfect for proc weapons & pets w/the paladins Oath misc item, Also because furries get fucked because of how many good fire wepons are out there, who cares if vamps lost the evolution war for a unique armour set? Furries get diretooth, the base class change, and a savageclaw armour, but they're still universally shit because vamps got a broken as fuck goden giftbox armour so stroong it is regarded as the highest source of damage output in the game. Werepyres are completely balls to tits broken- an advaned werepyre with the correct items and use of the ally assist could drop Nightbane challenge fight if not for the unfair damage his breath attack does.
>Armour of awe is ruined. Redesigned it into lag-fest that dosn't let you remove the cape & helm in battle and isn't colour coded like it's older version. Nevser uswe it/apply it with z-tokens, keep the Ultraguardian plate, or variants, never replace the blade of awe.
>Buy holiday portraits for your house if you can- the portals lead to prior holiday events for access to their items, but sometimes these places are snapshots of Older areas, and through these- access to older game fetures yet removed
>Overlord & Twilight set are a fucking must- one is essentially the only way you'll dodge shit at all, the other gives you free turns, which is broken as balls if you get pet that causes enemies to lose turns, as well as the common golden gifbot guest summon, icemaster yeti from Dragonfable, nevermind DOT with guests like the poutine golem, and the set's pet/full item set.
>Get Lepre-chan. +Light damage, spell damage- + Ironthorn & a stroong light weapon/anti undead armour + Paladn's Oath Artix guest (best artix guest) =Anti-heresy exterminatus damage output
>Ironthorn- increases your damage output so much it's essentially the glass canon option when you really need to drop some useless HP sponge. Ony downside is more missing, migitate this with muti-hit armours/single atack proc weapons,
>Big Dictionary or Alluminum Lightning rod gives out 209MP if yours is below that number, as well as a chance of lucky-hit damage of the weapons element. and FOUR sub-spells to choose to cast using these items, are essentially what most of the magic item in game should've been- electric lets you paralyse a foe, Big dictionary can give you a 4turn +dex shield like moonwalker- tally that up with moonwalker/twilight set to be untouchable

>Pixel Ether, Essence orb, Paladin's Oath, Blood Ruby, Amish hat, Warlics infernal Djinn lamp & Zardaid are all excellent misc items Paladin's oath is great for guests & pets, as well as procing item special abilities- and it dosn't consume all you SP, allowing you to hold it indefinitely, meaning you have so much more chances to proc the bade of awe. Blood ruby is similar, but more SP consuming and it gives you saves against the new bullshit status effect mechanics. Pixel & Essence orb = SP& MP in a pinch, Amish hat grants you stronger pets and better survivability, Infernal Djinn is a hard hitting Guest that consumes MP and switches from light-darkness, giving it great utility, Zardaid iis shitty, but good if you've got something on with a really shit element modifier as well as a small STR boost. Build attributes around top msc items you can get, as to save on attribute points when distributing them.
>Randomizer spell is a must, some elemetal modifiers are total bulshit and this let's you migitate that, bar that, get the pet which does the same thing from Graenemor- but if it's total ass, then your best bet is getting a weapon that does void/harm damage
It's either the Leprechaun war in Anaphar, or the Paladin vs necromancer war, but you want to get your hands on 'your sou burns bright' an HP consuming spell thart pops a DOT on an opponent, thanks to the sub-races being incredibly powerful, light damage (also darkness) can get stupidly high
>Harvenger from Balyhoo is an excellent ice-weapon, Wizard is still viable as fuck, despite the level of the armour being low
>Warlic's mastercraft items- some may be incredibly viable/useful I nearly fucking droppeed the first Nemesis encounter but RNG fucked me, so I don't know how good the set really is, It barely dick damage for me, so it's probably down to build
If you can't get the Twilight set weapons or the angel of death, get the Zardmaster's Lance for an excellent darkness weapon
The best darkness guests as I know seem to be the Djinn, but there's also this ninja lawyer thing and the new undead army from the tear in the sky, which looks cool as fuck- you can also get Kaley obsidia from the necromancer war, who I think heals MP, which makes her incredibly viable for mages

If you want to fucking Shrek a Dragon, get the dragonblade, or megadragonblade, max SP, galanoth as a guest, and run the first Dracomancer war, it tends to sometimes shack you up with GiinD or Trigoras on the regular amongst other high level dragons a player REALLY shouldn't be encountering- I used it a fuckton back when dragons had stupid ammounts of gold on their person
The current valentines event lets you get a troll form which lets you make enemies lose a turn if you hit them hard enough- tradeoff is piss poor elemental resistances.
F2Pers can still get the pet rock travel pass as well as use the Salad Shredder/Mana thingy to farm potions, but areas like the crossroads or the pitt in battleon prvide fucktons of potions till x35 of the buggers.
There is an actual belmont castlevania AQ event mastercraft armour, I was there for the event, but never finished it- was tits hard.
I have not touched Paxia or it's clans in Eonss and still have no idea what is going on. I hear Noctis now has some sort of amour that makes darkness damage do more- if so, pairing with the magic-weapon from the twilight set + the wereyre bats might yield similar results as lepre-chan + ironthorn + light weapon
If you, want to say play the game in chronological order, you can technically go to the forums and check out the events/quests release dates, and track down and do the game's quests in that order.
Also, the staff may/maynot have given you rewards for some event or something- I found my DF account had 200 Dragoncoins on t for some reason, might have been an anniversay/new years thing.
Also, the light sword yulgar sells summons a guest that can regenerate MP. the negative is that it's a new-age guest and lags the game to shit.
F2pers/early starters wanting a god misc item should get the Larsham flower- + 5 to all stats, was agot-to choice of mine way back when Psycho-saber offes you a guest, but he's now a SP-hog, so he's not as good as he once was. Other options include getting darklaw, or using the undead giant from level 2 of the necromancer class to make large damage output at the lower levels. Ironthon is obtainable at level 40 something or so, and paladin'as oath can be obtained early as well for maximum item proc cheese.
Those bullshit control the side character quests actually give Xp now- so you dont have to worry about going terminally ill from doing that fucking zorbak well rescue quest over and over.
Also for some stupid fucking reason there's like four versions of the vorpal blade, don't know what that's about, but I can never tell which one is the best now. Some Z-token items now scale to your level, so they're viable for long-term use, so always check before using a golden-giftbox.

Man, I came back to this a few years ago or so with my old '08 account info. All I played was DragonFable and MechQuest. DF was my main game and I made a new character, but what the fuck is with the saga shit. I had to read guides on what to do first because you can skip to an event that is built on 3 other events you skipped and you have no idea what's happening. There was no locked progression with events so it was confusing as fuck and I lost interest.
Did anyone play MechQuest? I have fond memories of it even though I didn't play much. The whole theme was cool as shit with giant mechs and choosing their beamSwords/guns and the hot babes in skintight suits was the cherry on top.
Does anyone use the trainers to play? It was nice to run it inside its own window and I think I was able to get some cash shop stuff for free, but it wouldn't get you a free premium membership. Highly recommend. It's a shame all the files are on their servers because it would be nice to purge the cash shop and fix the quest progression.
And what's with the cash shop? It's got too much shit and some of the really expensive crap is worse than the holiday weapons.

If they would release a legacy version (2005-7 ish) I would definitely buy it. It would be a smart thing for them to do to get a lot of nostalgiafags who otherwise would not even consider spending any money. Just like OP I went back a few times to check it out and they have made sweeping changes (the monster scaling especially) that suck the fun out of the game. In a climate with Oldschool Runescape and Classic WoW, a classic version of this game would probably be familiar and welcome enough that it would get some media eyes on it + word of mouth from 20-30 year olds who played it.
The best possible version of this idea would be selling a bundle of different versions from way back with dipswitch-like settings for putting on the different wars and events they had and some cheat tools.

I hope none of you are being turned off by the Dragon Amulet thing. Just don't start off at Book 3, that's a choice for whatever reason.

Yeah, MQDab, but I couldn't figure out how to get Star Captain on it so I'm using an old one.
Unfortunately, I found out using the hacks to steal the Star Captain shop items will only last in your inventory for that session since it's not stored on the server (since you're not really a SC). Also can't get the extra stat when leveling up and training bc it gives an error if you train up stats above your non-SC limits.

I know they got some real novelty type mechs, but I still enjoy seeing the flash art designs for them.
But yeah, I heard between DF and AQ, MechQuest has the shittiest story and least content. On the "News" board in-game, they're still talking like it's 2015 so it's not even updated anymore. I'll still stick with it for awhile more though. Going to see if I can get the BattleAxe to beat the ever-loving shit out of the darth maul ripoff moglin in this dojo.

I fucking wish. The whole game is still stored on their servers so there's no way to play it offline. You can still do a lot of fuckery in it. Right now I just use the Star Captain hack to get access to all the SC stuff (not the shop) and get extra XP/Credits.

You can. It's the same game. You can just decide to enable some hacks if you want, but most of them are for show (credits/Gems/Level/Exp).
The most use I've gotten out of it is the SC hack which I use to access SC-locked content/quests. Just no buying shop items and leveling up past your non-SC limits are the only stipulations I've found so far.
In other news, I finally got black belt in Energy Swords. Took only a couple hours or so.

There are actually mechquest and dragon fable private server kits floating around but I never bothered to actually set them up, I remember finding them on github. That said, they're buried away somewhere on the site. The author didn't actually use the titles of the games on the github page so it's very hard to find. I remember one of the names starting with mq.
