Only technically. For a game to be a disappointment, you have to have higher expectations for its quality than what will be in the finished product. Every sign is indicating to me that the game will be bad, so my expectations are probably actually worse than the finished product is. So with my expectation that it won't live up to the original at all, that it will have shoehorned woke politics as a central focus, and that it will be a totally forgettable game chances are that there will be some kind of redeeming value that I don't anticipate to make it actually better than my expectations (but still not good).

The folks writing the books, yeah. And few got cancelled too. I heard a few more are slated to come out but went through several "revisions". Aka: Chechnya 2.0 was already in the pipeline but Paradox caught it before it came out. What a shame.
As far as I know, the guys writing for the videogame aren't the same folks. They ARE indeed using Requiem as base, so even if they were competent, they're already building this castle on a sandy foundation.
Some of the visuals looked cool in the trailers and videos. But all I got from it was "Vampire-Themed Deus Ex Human Revolution".
DX:HR was decent I guess, but the augs failed, and it didn't rely that much on the story. Vampire however is something that only really works with a good story. Or a good bloodbath/carnage fest.
I didn't see either in the material shown, so I'm not holding my breath for it.

How does draining a senior vampire distribute anything? If anything, it effectively means 1 less vampire.
The Camarilla would not allow a thinblood to be sired, so both the sire and childe would be put to death. Diablerie is also out of the question here.
A thin blood is hunted to death by the Sabbat because of fears of Gehenna. Working with a thin blood to begin with would be out of the question.
Caitiff are usually clanless so that rules them out as an option.
Anarchs wouldn't allow diablerie because they would fear that they would be next on the menu.

The Camarilla bans diablerie but V20 and V5 both suggest that Princes are more flexible about it during blood hunts. V5, which is what this game is based on, explicitly states that the Camarilla will use it occasionally as a reward for thin-bloods who prove themselves to be useful.
