Consider putting a bit more of anything in your thread, OP.
I've been keeping up with Ring Fit Adventure, now at day 56 I believe. It's a nice, comfy half-hour break to take from work. Seems like the story isn't showing any signs of slowing down so that's nice. My biggest problem is how overpowered I got simply by doing all the sidequests and levels (no real grinding). I'm about 30 levels over the recommended difficulty. To balance that, I use start-game audio which doesn't really make the regular enemies much of a challenge (they take enough punishment but do next to no damage to be) but the chapter 15 boss did nearly kill me (because I was too retarded to notice he had two health bars).
Also been playing a bit of Sekiro. I've had absolutely no interest in the Souls games, much to the disappointment of a friend of mine who's played all but Bloodborne. I agreed to play Sekiro solely because it's the only Souls game he gave up (or took an extended break as he put it) on. Hey, if I'm gonna play a game I'm not that interested in, I might as well have the chance to make fun of someone when I do beat it.
I know I'm bad at games but most times, my memory does make up for it (it's how I beat Battletoads), but memory doesn't seem nearly as helpful in this. As far as I can tell so far (beat the general after the Chained Ogre so not that far in), you're not intended to have fun if you're not good at the game. I mean, are you intended to cheese the enemies and sneak-kill all of them? Probably not but fighting them means a high risk of taking damage, making the next boss near-impossible. Take damage, run back, heal, try to sneak kill them all again until you get it right. It feels cheesy and not that fun but if I take any damage, I know I'm fucked at the boss anyway so why would I bother even trying?
As for the bosses, I know I'm fighting them wrong too but defending doesn't seem to do that much (unless you get perfect timing which I rarely if ever can). The best way to fight them so far seems to just stay at a distance, memorize their attack animations and how long they last, then run in after their attack, do a sword thrust and one or two quick slashes, then run back/jump out of the way of their attack. Which again, is cheesy and not that fun but the alternative is not beating the fucking boss because I know for a fact I don't have the timing or skill to fight them "properly". Game has already demonstrated that plenty.
It does concern me that a Soulsfag rage-quit this piece of shit though. I assume the game will get to a point where doing what I'm doing will no longer work (requiring perfect blocks to do any damage or something, I wouldn't put it past them) because otherwise, I really can't imagine what would be so challenging to someone who actually likes these games.

Currently trying to get a colony started while also trying to scam an Olympus off the Imperium / Unsung off Neutrino, might probably have to go back to alpha core farming but those new capship the remnants get make that really fucking hard (especially the Nova and Timeless and especially when there's like several of those in an engagement), maybe I should just do IBB / HVB to get those sweet unique ships that also usually happen to be rapemachines.

Surprisingly fun. I expected utter shit since the last musou I've played was Spirit of Sanada and that was shambles of a fun game trapped in utter garbage, but it's actually well done. The magic system is nice, the hyper attack system is a very well done addition, I like the distinction between Dynasty and Samurai characters and the OST is a blast to listen to.
The character of Naotora Li is vexing though. On one hand the jiggle on her musou animation and her diety costume is nice, on the other her fucking voice is grating as shit, just like every other female character's voice besides maybe Ina and Aya.

Currently on the Kantor mission. Game's lovely but those fuckers armed with Drillers who are also suicide bombers are easily the worst enemy in the game. Not even the valkryie's are as a pain in the ass to fight. It's a lovely game and I would recommend it to anyone who liked Descent, but I'm not a big fan of the upgrade system, especially since you can be locked into a ++ upgrade without the chance to test the other.

I haven't played much but it's super fun, if not on the easy side. I wish it would take the training wheels off already because a game like this I feel thrives on difficulty.
In terms of upcoming I'd like to pirate either Corruption 2029 or Phoenix Point, but I'm also considering waiting a year until the EGS faggots beta test the game and it releases with hotfixes and DLCs and whathaveyou. Also in a moment of weakness I considered that I only have one day remaining before my data cap resets, but ~50GB to spare and I considered blowing it on a f2p multiplayer game in addition to whatever I want to play after I'm done with these three games. What's one that will give me the least amount of asscancer and the most amount of fun?

Anon, Sekiro's gameplay loop is pretty simple
>attack enemy until your strike sparks more brightly than before
>keep deflecting until your blade sparks more brightly than before
>repeat until their posture breaks or their health depletes
That's the very basics of it, once you've got it down you can try and get ballsy for extra damage or posture in between attacks. Then there's the red character attacks that cannot be blocked, these you can mostly tell by animations(as a rule of thumb, thrust attacks usually come with a glint at the tip of the sword/spear, also spearmen have a habit of thrusting, and grab attacks had shit hitboxes on launch date, I do not know if they fixed that or not but safe to say you will dislike the game the most when you're fighting big monster type enemies like the ogre, headless or ape). If the deflect timing is difficult for you, imagine if it's the attack button and try to time it with a slight delay to the enemy attack. It's even easier in the cases of some enemies(Ashina elite) where the game outright tells you when to block with small glints of the sword just before they're about to draw. The game's timing is fairly lenient(at least compared to Dark Souls parrying), just don't spam block.

I'm playing through the Soldier of Fortune games and finished SoF1 a while ago, and now I'm somewhat 1/4 of the way through SoF2.
I really like the gore system if it is somewhat primitive compared to more modern games, but it still captures that satisfaction of just a scattergun tearing limbs off while the enemy bleeds out.
Honestly though, I definitely enjoy SoF1's movement & pacing more than SoF2, whereas SoF2 had a more fine-tuned gore system weighed down by a shitty stealth system & weighty movement.

Only knew about this game because ebin black e-celeb recommended it, gotta be honest here. Everything about the setting and the rougelike structure is kinda bland and mechanical, but the tactical shooting is twitchy and feels great. Item, weapon, and class variety is through the roof.

It's Doom. Survive in Hell is a great wad that takes the challenging hordes and brutal difficulty of slaughter maps and puts them in bite-sized levels. There's some annoying difficulty spikes but overall it's a fun time.

This game makes me feel like a kid again. Wandering around a surreal environment that runs by its own logic, getting lost, listening to the beautiful but droning music. It perfectly captures the idea of Wonderland, this dreamlike environment that's both childish and macabre, and it looks great. Combat's a little basic but it understands its limitations as an early third person shooter. The voice acting's also really good for the time. Sometime it gets a little too confusing and the ledge climbing is a little rough, but overall highly recommended.

Alice is always a great choice. I tried replaying Madness Returns last year and it definitely couldn't hold a candle to the original.
The free version of Synthetik seemed quite good to me. That being said, I don't still have it installed after only playing it for an hour, so that's kind of telling. Probably more fun with friends.

If I was a BO on this site I would have done what the BO of /rand21/ did a long time ago, tbh. He disabled posting on the board and told Ron that he wouldn't re-enable it until Ron answered his emails. So far, Ron has not done so. He has not answered the email of one of his own BO's! So the BO has abandoned it, and I can't blame him. Especially if I had come back to the new site and seen that after all the downtime that Ron hadn't done a thing about improving the mod tools.
I understand that Mark and Ron are friends, but part of being someone's friend is to be honest with them when they are incapable of seeing things objectively. In this case, it may mean that as a friend Mark needs to tell Ron to find another BO. It may require that much to get Ron to step back and make a more objective reassessment.
I don't understand why he would have bumplocked this thread, and others, unless he is doing so in order to try to get Ron's attention or as you say to get anons to deliberately leave.
This is the 4th enjoyable thread I have participated in over the last week that has either been bumplocked or deleted outright for no discernible reason. No rules were being broken, the discussions were mostly on topic, it just hasn't made any sense.
Bumplocking in particular is an odd tool. Useful if a thread is getting spammed, or if someone is trying to slide the board, but on a board this inactive it really doesn't serve to accomplish any other purpose. There are threads from December still on page 3 here. Bumplocking isn't going to make a thread less seen, or less active.
So that aspect of it is puzzling.
You have anons here trying to make something of the board. What possible reason is there to hamstring them this way?
