This makes sense. Joy-cons are the only detachable controllers that I've seen that actually work comfortably in practice. I too would like to see such a concept perfectly translated for smartphone use. This Razer garbage is clunky and convoluted like the rest of the currently available Android controllers.

The closest you can find to a not shit phone controller'd be the fuckin moto mod game pad.
But even then you're still dealing with Android's input fuckery.
Point made short, trying to find "the not shit Android controller" is an exercise in futility. Even Valve opts to entirely circumvent how android handles input and does it directly through their steam link app, and the hacky way of cramming a controller into a Linux driver to circumvent Android bullshit is neither realistic nor reasonable.

The razer shit is exactly like a switch joycon, and probably exactly as shitty and uncomfortable. The only difference with the OP is how they attach, since it needs a special phone case in order to slide on like a joycon. However the "bag clip" idea simply doesn't work. It's incapable of providing a firm enough grip without damaging the phone in the process.

All phones copying apple is more to do with the modern smart phone just being an incremental upgrade over the OLD AS FUCK iPod touch, and that's to do with the origins of android being tied to google trying to monopolize the mobile marketspace by aping the iPhone but accessible to all the other manufacturers.
It's ingrained on a deep factor that it's going to be designed primarily for iPhone/iPod touch knockoffs, most of it's features or uniquities slowly being eroded over the years or foisted as a responsibility of the manufacturer.
It's simply an inflexible garbage OS that's only real benefit is "It's not Apple, yet." and honestly, that's the saddest fucking thing because a "not shit mobile computing device" would be fucking amazing, but because of the operating system being the primary drive of the hardware design, even into the peripheral space, it's nigh inevitably going to be shit.

My boss has no idea what I get upto during the day, and he doesn't care as long as the work I am assigned is done. And I really don't consider anything I do in my job "work." That's the thing about jobs, it's a bit of a bell curve. On the left edge there's low-work jobs that pay shite. Then in the middle there's a lot of jobs that pay medicore but require a lot of hard work. Then at the right edge there's a whole shitload of jobs that require basically no effort at all but pay shitloads. Being in the middle doesn't make you morally superior to me. It makes you unlucky.
And I don't play games in work either. I read or listen to audiobooks, eat out at nice resteraunts, or walk around and take in the sights. Depending on where I am that particular day.
Anyway, enjoy being a wage slave. Find moral solace in the fact that you work hard and don't "steal time" from your boss who definatly doesn't give as much of a shit about you as you do the job.
