I started a thread last night when we were being DDosed and it never went through and I don't feel like writing a big OP again.
I've started to play Etrain Odyssey 3 again and so far I'm doing alright. I've found a ton of places as sea and have a lot of the second floor mapped out. I still can't find the stairs though. I might do more sea quests and try to grind to level 10 or something.
I gave both Etrain odyssey 1 and 2 a shot but so far like 3 the best, being able to take a break from the labyrinth and go to sea really helps break up the lull if you have been banging your head against the wall.

Any recommendations for a relatively modern dungeon crawler on PC?
Atlus just had a survey where they asked what games people want to see on Switch. Of course Persona dominated because faggots have no taste, but Etrian had a good showing. My favourite Etrian is probably IV because of the airship.
The Mystery Dungeon game was pretty good too, though I did mostly play it as a Shiren game with a solo character once I'd unlock the Wanderer class.

IV has a world map divided into zones, each with a main dungeon, as well as side-dungeons you can go through for extra loot and XP and whatnot, often involved with side-quests for townspeople. The world map is basically a dungeon itself with entrances and exits to other zones, as well as fast-travel points.

Just roll with it. It gets easier to make new adventurers later as you can start them off at a higher level.
IMO try to strike a balance between a party that's effective now and building towards better late-game skills. If you only got for late-game skills you're gonna get your shit pushed in before you even get there.

Fug. Well at least resting can bring them back to level 5 with all their points back. The only ones I really worry about are the ninja and monk.
My main party is a Prince, Hoplite, gladiator, ninja, and crossbow slut.
I have a monk, zodiac, wildling, and farmer sitting in the wings but I'm not sure how much I like them. I have the farmer for them gathering spots.
I normally keep the Sovereign and Hoplite in the party and switch around the others.
