Some consider it an Evangelion bandwagoner, but I'd say it's got merit of it's own to go through, and unlike Evangelion, it starts out confusing but actually makes some amount of sense by the end. I disagree. Persona 5 is a good game all in all, really, it's really enjoyable in most ways, and it does have the writing you would expect from a Persona game. In fact, is as good as a persona game can get.
I don't mind Persona 5, my problem is that the hype for it is so much that good games from the same franchise like SMT are pushed aside because normalfags only know Persona, to the point they don't even know it's just an spin-off of SMT, and, in this case, great games like Dragon Crown won't be ported because Persona fags can't shut up about a game that is good at best.

That's because the game is all presentation. The characters and overall story is pretty meh by comparison. I've seen people who pathologically hate anything turn based love this game. But don't really have much else to say about the story and in some cases even the characters.
A competent relatively easy game with no major flaws coupled with an extremely polished presentation will have a high chance of sparking interest from normie crowds. Good but not something worth remembering in the long run once the next big thing comes along.

A reminder the persona 5 royal did worse than expected in japan (no fucking surprise, what do you expect when you are charging retail for what should have been 20$ dlc, turns out otaku dont like to double dip as much as previously thought) and is probably set to underperform in the west considering the game has to compete with the original which is 1/3 the cost. A switch (and pc) port is literally the only way they could possibly make back the numbers on royal.
