I don't even care. Whenever I'm tired of getting fed too much information, I return to the Dragonball franchise. I was/ am a reader of the big three, Naruto, One Piece and Dragonball. Seriously, after the final arcs of Naruto and One Piece since Water 7, sit back and read a Dragonball manga again.
There it is - mostly action, the reason I even started with that weeb shit. Not much dialogue or unnecessary dialoge (you could literally cut One Piece in half with less shitty jokes, not explaining what happens right now, or no filler dialogue). Clear structure. Not much information given. You can just enjoy it. I have the feeling for the other shit I have to read a guide to keep track.
Getting deeper into weeb shit is even worse, when they start throwing stupid ass words at you to sound cool or special, the Final Fantasy way, which you all have to remember.
Due to that I got more and more into western comic, but there you need to read a whole Wiki to even understand what's going on in capeshit and who's who. Dragonball is imo timeless. Tumblr would disagree but who gives a fuck.

I don't even understand the point of DBZ Kakarot - why would I want to play the weakest part of DragonballZ, the stuff inbetween battles? From what I've seen, 13 hours of the 15 hour gameplay is dialogue. Oh yes I love dialogue. Like FighterZs story mode didn't make me want to kill myself.
Regarding FighterZ, it's probably the best DBZ game, but with the lack of proper reversal techniques (e.g. compared to BlazBlue), it's just a "watch getting stuck in a combo for hours" game. It looks amazing, but I barely played it compared to BT3 and RB2, which I consider the best DBZ games.
Regarding the Budokai series, I prefer 2 over 3, for the ridiculous fanservice/ non-canon additions.
Another amazing DBZ game is Hyper Dimension for SNES.
I remember the anime being at the Frieza arc when I played Hyper Dimension, so I was speculating who the characters in that game could be. I thought Vegeto was a female saiyan because of the ear-rings.

It's definitely better than GT, but that's not really saying much. I like the concept of Egyptian Cat God but DBZ didn't really benefit from the big revelations that came from it. Stuff like Hit and Zamasu, even the super dragon balls could've just as easily worked with or without the seperate universes, and their only real purpose was to fill 2/3rds of the show with tournaments.

The tension from good buildup and good fights has always been a key aspect of Dragonball and DBZ. And GT failed horribly in that regard IMO. So how is DB Super more of a slog than GT when it actually *does* do fights and buildup right?
(I mean, yeah, bullshit plot and pointless characters are still a bad thing obviously - but even then a sense of tension and buildup can make up for a lot. And it's not like DBZ didn't already have powerleveling bullshit by the boatload)

Part of it is needless filler. The first two arcs for example, were about 12 episodes of material(The two movies) stretched out to 26. Super starts off as a mediocre adaption, that goes into another mediocre adaption. And then its first arc is a really clunky tournament that basically only feels like much at all during the final stretch.
And what do you get after a decent arc(Goku Black), why another tournament that takes a fuck ton of time to get to anything interesting.
Most of super also had incredibly bland filler fights, especially the shit redo of a shit movie.
I don't remember GTs fights even being bad though, outside some really early ones like the big robo baby. Most of the shadow dragons were fine, and so were Babysand he had quite a few. Rildo and the Sigma force were interesting even if their build up was kinda eh.
Super 17 was pretty shit though.

I actually wouldn't mind the latter option. Like have Trunks and Goten join some kind of space exploration force and find undiscovered planets. You don't have to get rid of characters like Goku and Vegeta, just keep them in the background. Maybe continue the Cell Saga's theme of passing things on to the next generation. I'm just spit-balling here but you get my point. There's a lot of interesting things you could do with Dragon Ball besides having Goku fight stronger and stronger opponents then fixing all the collateral damage with the Dragon Balls.

As shit as GT was, I really loved the ending. Having Goku join with the Dragon Balls to become their guardian was a great way to end the series (as a whole, not just GT).
I know current DB is on a different timeline now, but if they re-used that idea, they could still have Goku around as some god-like figure, but they could only summon him when they've got the dragon balls, which would make collecting the dragon balls that much more meaningful.
I don't know how you'd deal with the rest of the power-creep though.
