I don't even know how it got that bad. When you write a story, the story is all that matters, the background and laws of the universe you create are your own. The fact that they felt they had to prop it up with articles just doesn't show them in a confident light.

If you actually pay attention to media long enough, you realize that a LOT of companies use the same library stock library.
<For example, I forget were (I want to say Avengers: Endgame), but something I recently watched used the same radio sound effect that RoosterTeeth used back in 2003 for Red VS Blue.

Goddamn, tell me about it. There are certain sounds I hear that completely remove me from whatever I'm watching/playing. The Doom door sound is an obvious example, and shows up all the fucking time. Another example is what I call the "Castlevania squeaky gate". Whenever I hear it I'm reminded of C64, and it too shows up in a lot of shit, more so than the Doom door sound.

And how good is that titlescreen music? Starts at 0:40. C64 is not a great game, but if you can play it on its own terms (especially the superior Legacy of Darkness re-release) it's a good time.
