The Fatal Frame adaptation will be set in Japan and both movies will be done by the Frog that made the first Silent Hill movie.

I enjoyed the first Silent Hill adaptation I just hope none of the adaptations turn into a shitty CGIfest.

The only reason I'm hopeful for this is that the Frog lad doesn't work with Hollywood production companies and just works with French and Japanese personnel.

Konami's pachinko shit must have fallen through, I'm guessing? They seem to be trying really hard to revive their own franchises (Metal Gear Survive, new Silent Hill, more movie adaptations, etc).

Just like all the other SH films.

>Another Silent Hill film

>Last movie the frog has done was the live action Beauty and the Beast

Thought the Silent Hill film was nothing special. Though I have no faith in a person who would participate on such an abomination as a (((Disney))) 2d to live action movie.

Except the movie has nothing to do with Disney, these fairytales are public domain you dumbshit.

It's a French movie

Eh, I'll give them a watch

I liked the 2006 one for the aesthetics alone.

I realize that after I posted and I cannot delete my error. Maximum bullying allowed, especially as I remember the french movie having quite some press when it first came out so I should have remembered sooner.

But why? You know what, it doesn't matter. I probably won't watch it anyways. I'm one of maybe two people that enjoyed the sequel over the original.

Are these dogshit directors just sitting there constantly begging to adapt more of these?

EVERYONE shits on the silent hill films, and as a matter of fact its lost literally all of its relevancy, who is even pushing for this anymore?

I know its been said a million times, but video games just do NOT translate to film well, a 1/1 story retelling would be redundant and pointless while lacking all the pros the game would have, and adding "creative license" just makes it less like the game, which takes away the entire point

honestly I think that the only "correct" way to make a video game movie is like Detective Pikachu, was it perfect? fuck no, it was an easy safe family flick, but it steps on the least toes as far as its core material is concerned and creates its own story within the lore without connecting it to the actual games themselves, pokemon fans can go back and watch it without feeling completely insulted, HOWEVER pokemon is so all encompassing at this point I honestly don't even know if I'd count it anymore

The sequel felt phoned in. Rose is gone, and Sean Bean's character doesn't do anything. Heather's story felt rushed, which was to be expected given the time skip. A better idea would have been to either take place right after the first movie or take us to the early days of the cult, leading up to Alessa getting burned.
