The censoring criticism pales in comparison to the overall quality, there is no reason for the "remaster" to exist, it's barely an improvement. The art was stylized good enough to hold up forever and getting it started on modern systems isn't hard either.

I mean, don't play their games regardless. They do things like sell multiplayer games where the multiplayer servers were taken down, but they don't tell anybody, and when you file a support ticket, they tell you that they will be back soon and to be patient (gave me that for one year) before finally saying it's not coming back. I learned real fast not to buy their games, and that's ignoring what they did to Tropico, their incessant cash-grab DLCs that are poorly designed, and how they harassed modders.
Buying aside, Kalypso games aren't even worth pirating. Have respect for yourself and don't even waste your time with their games.
