I remember being told Risen 1 and 2 are shit because Risen 1 is better. I've never played Risen 1 though.

They're both garbage and Risen 1 is the only good one.
Play, Carribean!, Sea Dogs 2 or Sid Meiers Pirates if you at a good pirate game.
