I hope I'm not the only one that gets annoyed at the masses of opening videos for older games that were meant to be ran at 4:3 being captured/ripped in 16:9 instead. I know widescreen is standard now, but the stretching/cropping can be annoying, and I've even seen official uploads from publishers to promote rereleases/anniversaries do the same (apparently pre-game-compression raws at the original aspect ratio are too much to ask for). Do people really hate vertical boxing that much?

It really did a great job of things. Fuck, while most people probably wouldn't save and quit during the prologue of all things, there's even a whistle version of the opening if you boot up during that point. And then there's the fact that the English adaptation of the song is actually worth debating on if it's better than the original Japanese one or not, Square managed that good of an English singer and direction.
Shame SCEA just stopped fucking caring about the series after that point, leading to Agetec grabbing ACF instead, sitting on it for like two years of delays to improve the translation, and then said script feeling like they'd worked on it for two weeks at most (also cutting combat voices and the voiced version of Windward Birds, probably because they didn't want to pay the licensing for them).

This intro was so good that it sold the game to me. I downloaded the demo, and before I started a game, I ended up getting a ride to the store and buying a disc of Dawn of War, all because of the trailer. Luckily for kid-me, the game was also good. This intro was a product of a team that genuinely loved what they were making.
