What's Epic games got to do with it?

Also Rocket League is quite a fun game but it gets repetitive pretty quickly. At the very least I give it credit for being a popular multiplayer game with a high skill ceiling.

Yes.

a) Devs were probably retarded and had no forethought when making their game, so ended up using many OS-specific libraries

b) Linux isn't popular enough to warrant the effort (which even if my first point was true, shouldn't take a good programmer more than a day or so, meaning either they're bullshitting or their spaghetti code is worse than Notch's for Minecraft.)

That's of course taking them at face value. EGS isn't even available on Linux as far as I saw, so it might just be a nice wink and nod from Tencent to stop supporting Linux. Doesn't explain dropping support for the MacOS port though.

Even then, if the development tools they're using are platform-agnostic, it wouldn't be an issue. Minecraft ran on everything because it was interpreted through Java, which runs on everything.

If an Unreal game can't work on Linux, it's because Unreal doesn't have the proper "code once, run everywhere" cross-platform support.

Hey, there was a time (back when Commodore was relevant) when you could make a legitimate argument for an Apple computer being good, in terms of computer performance for the price, as well as the software bundled. Not so much from the 90s onwards.

An SSD is an SSD, Apple's aren't that unique. However, I'm pretty sure Apple serializes their Hard Drives so even if you were to resolder it, it might reject it or at least bitch at you very hard for having done so. Same thing happens with Apple phone screen and power button replacements, where the phone tells you that the screen is bad if you're replaced it, and outright rejects power buttons.

I remember a girl in late high school, around the time the iPhone 4 came out explaining to me that iPhones had better cameras than Android phones which justified the purchase (apparently that's not actually wrong, but the difference is negligible in modern phones and is all down to software)

I also might be retarded but every time I've had to use an iPhone (to fix shit for other people, like hell am I gonna use one of those things willingly), I can never find the features and settings I'm looking for.

iirc it does, so do half the engines now. the problem isn't technical, it's business related. if you sell a linux version you have to support it, which costs more money than it's worth for most - especially if it's a more demanding game than some indie platformer.

that still wouldn't be a problem since most shit runs on proton these days - except the anticheat, and without that good luck.

That image does have a point when it comes to repairs. You have to pay out of the ass to have Tesla fixed and there is parts and mechanic shortage that causes months of wait time.

Zero user control is not limited to Tesla however. I was looking for a year old used car, and so many modern models are crippling your options or hide them behind million sub-menus on their touch screen displays. Ditching physical buttons and turning transmission lever are a whole another matter.

60s, 70s, and 80s muscle car with but with tech adons like aux connection, heated seats, rear view camera etc. of 2010 - 2017 cars would be absolutely perfect.

Sadly, Electric cars cripple the Oil industry (and industry that doesn't even need to defend itself, several states do it for them since they depend on oil for their GDP) and Nuclear has this "NYMBA" problem because people think modern reactors are just Chernobyl 1.01 with a coat of paint.

It's not so much content and patches as much as it is cosmetics and DLC. You have to squeeze out as much money as possible from a big multi million dollar game before you release the next big multi million dollar game, you can't just make several smaller budget games and release them over a period of years as to make the next iteration something to look forward to or something of high quality. Just release shit yearly and people will buy it. And the worst part is that I'm not even wrong, considering the continued success of CoD and Asscreed. That isn't the issue we're facing though.

The issue we're facing is that politicians are trying to score good boy points by being against nuclear.

It's not just the case that countries are refusing to expand nuclear energy. Many countries, including germany, are actively trying to reduce nuclear energy and shut down nuclear power plants. These then get replaced with coal, brown coal and even biomass reactors. Then next year it turns out they're still miles away from reaching their CO2 reduction goals despite spending billions on renewables so they allocate another giant pile of money for it.

Politicians are actively replacing clean and cheap forms of energy, like nuclear and coal, with less efficient and more polluting forms of energy, like biomass. And the retarded masses eat it up because biomass sounds modern and hip, so it's gotta be better right?

An even bigger joke here is the retarded bureaucracy is involved. In my country, the Netherlands, politicians want to shut down coal power plants (instead of the more pollutant biomass ones), import the more polluting brown coal energy from Germany, and then write that off as CO2 reduction. The end result doesn't matter, as long as you appear to be doing the right thing.

A) The batteries are made of cancerous materials, and studies have shown that most of them are simply dumped away, creating pollution worse than what gas normally would.

>The batteries are made of cancerous materials,

electric cars use like 8 different battery types, and the most common is Lithium Ion or Lithium Polymer, which are recyclable but not really commonly recycled because lithium is so fucking common.

Lead-acid is also common but those are used in regular cars anyways and are the most recycled battery type out there, because legit the entire thing is reusable in some way.

Electric cars suck because our power generation sucks, it's more efficent thermodynamically to burn the fuel for power at the end than to burn it at a plant to turn it lossily into electricty, lossily transport it to your house, lossily transport it into a battery, then turn it back into force, it's for this reason that hybrid cars are better than straight electric, cause they mainly try to ensure that the gas you burn passively is at least not being wasted.

Well, most of Rocket League's high level play goes on in the air and not on the ground.

>Reminder that solar power is a meme that requires a fuckload of space of solar panels to make up for the needs of the average city, resulting in the destruction of thousands of acres of land for it's installation.

The only time I can really see it working is with big deserts like the Saharan Desert but there's still the fact that panels are incredibly inefficient(One big panel is 100~200W and so you have to chain so many of them to get decent generation), faulty(If one panel fails you're probably going to lose out on a lot of power depending on your bypass setups) and the highest quality solar panels require the incredibly expensive(both in terms of energy and financially) Float Zone method meaning the better efficiency panels are

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't the best panels like 20% efficiency when it comes to the amount of energy incident on them? In my opinions they're pointless unless they're being installed on like windows(Thin film) or rooftops, or smaller devices(like scientific calculators that never seem to run out of battery).

Also in the case of the Saharan I remember reading there were current attempts to grow crops there. I forget the name, Toshka or something.

They reduce energy costs for home owners when placed on rooftops, yeah. It could also mean you get money from the energy company if you don't use much electricity. Despite a bunch of power companies being public utilities, they didn't like that.

Yeah totally. Crying that you have to make flash games and crapware compatible with their OS.

Who the fuck want's to play rocketleague? It's cars combined with FIFA.

Make some decent games with genres that actually get played like shooters, open world whatevers, RPGs, racing games and NOT FUCKING TEXT BASED TRASH.

That makes a lot more sense than getting a meme game, that only holds up until grade schoolers get their parents to buy them GTA, to run on their favourite flavour of a server OS.

No it's not. I understand disliking the game(I myself quit it two years ago) but at least give off the impression that you've played it.

Anon, you're talking about the entire FOSS community in a nutshell, where the fags care more about "function" (If you could call it that) over fashion.

And, they wonder why it is that no one wants to use the fucking thing.
