I have to admit, one of the things that I did like about Steam was the original GUI interface where it showed the games in a personalized manner and how you could pick the different images and how you chose to "represent" you're entire library. However, because the thing is DRM and cuts into computer resources, I was wondering, what do other Anons do as far as a GUI for playing games on their computers. Do you have a specific program, do you have your games organized like I do i the first pic (Where it's just a folder in the toolbar), do you have nothing special, what?

Looking back at Lufia's cross shaped battle menu I have mixed thoughts. On one hand the menu is made to easily remember your core actions with the D-pad directions. On the other hand after playing Super Dragon Quest III on emulator one-handed via numberpad the menu is a pain to use without two hands.

I organize my games the same way. Do the same for all my programs to keep my desktop tidy. Don't need some bloaty piece of shit program to do what is built in the OS to do.

I just use the menu that came with my OS (actually with my desktop environment, KDE). Pic related are some of the possible menus you can have, but mine looks different. It doesn't really matter because the file format has an open specification and all menus are compatible with it, so I can swap menus all day if I want to.

I literally type the name of the game in the start bar or the folder path I'm on and there's nothing you can do to stop me

I just press "super + d", type in a portion of the name of the game I want, and then press enter.
I swear to god you idiots wouldn't know a good interface if it brapped on you.

Whatever's shorter. In this case the acronym goo-ey is shorter than the initialism jee yoo eye. Fewer syllables.
