Games like Furi, Shadow of the Colossus, and (to a lesser degree) Sekiro. Games where you're set against a series of strong opponents and knowledge is half the battle. Requiring attentiveness, strategy, and problem solving, but also reflexes, hand-eye coordination, and persistence.

Are there more games like this? Because these games are incredible.

Despite what most retards think, action games (at least the ones with any kind of challenge) are usually more about tactics than reflexes. Since the average gamer has the intelligence of a subhuman, they tend to find these kind of games to be difficult.

Isn't that basically every game cuhrayzee game though?

I think the problem is in people think they need to mash the fuck out of the controller when playing these games. I visited my brother recently and watched him play DMC5, the fucker mashes triangle just for the regular Rebellion combo and it hurts to watch. Same with overtly dial-a-combo games like musous.

That reminds me, most Bandai shovelware nowadays lacks movesets, it's just smash one button and smash another button multiple times to perform one out of two or three cutscene special attacks.

That's pretty much a perfect description of Odin sphere. When I first played it, it took a long time before I unlearned that if you run into a group of enemies and mash square then you are going to get your ass handed to you. Also, it feels good crafting various potions and stuff in preparation for a boss fight. I've been considering getting a vita primarily for the enchanted remake.

You're probably better off emulating the PS3 version by now, it runs on potato hardware and has the full sized assets.

VITA version is kinda iffy in the framerate department, even with the OC plugins you can have on a CFW one.

Wow they finally got that working? It's been over a decade since I checked.

Depends on the game

Odin Sphere is rather low on the requirement as is Dragon Crown, it's not perfect but quite good.

Obviously not gonna work on a complete toaster but if a Ryzen 2200G can do it rather well it's probably gonna be fine for anyone with a decent desktop PC

Other games range from that kind of low requirements to requiring some insane build to not even breach 10fps while being completely broken to shit, but there's already a few flagship exclusives starting to be playable or "playable" depending on the title and computer you're trying to run it with MGS4 is one of those that plays surprisingly well provided you have something like an OC'ed 9900k with some equally good GPU backing it up.

It's a small puzzle, sure, but also more than that. How to bait the enemy into making certain exploitable moves, also how exactly to exploit those moves, etc, all these are something of a puzzle at first.

I see that too, watching people play games with attack or block/parry buttons. They just push it repeatedly as fast as they can and hope for the best. Shameful.

How about a puzzle shmup?

Although it's not really required a large part of getting good is figuring out the order in which you're supposed to kill stuff to make it as efficient as possible, bosses are a bit different but it's also puzzle like in that you have to figure out what their pattern is to maximize the damage you can deal to them before they can do anything back to you.

There's a few lesser known games with the same systems but they don't really capture the same feeling of just erasing entire level / bosses with a few well placed shots.

With that logic practically everything gameplay related counts as a puzzle.

Yeah, you got me there, but you know what I mean. Difficult enemies that require both tactics and skill. Preferably with a solid soundtrack.

Because fighting / combat isn't very intuitive for humans, jumping is intuitive yet you don't jump as much in real life. Also typical brain damage to many gamers.

>fighting / combat isn't very intuitive for humans

I strongly disagree. We are violent by nature. If there's any disconnect, it's because games don't sufficiently reflect the full spectrum of violence that we're capable of. Humans dominate this planet because we are the most dangerous. Whether that comes from tool usage, group attacks, or just pure refusing to die despite lethal injuries is irrelevant. We all desire violence in some capacity. Violence is very intuitive, and no game I know of captures it accurately.

There's guacamelee.

I dropped this game cause it was basically the Simon color game mixed with fighting and platforming. Pissed me off that later in the game there was yet another mode you have to switch to "land of the dead" dimension so you can attack enemies that were virtually indestructible otherwise.

That pissed me the fuck off but it could be up your alley.

being violent is easy, you frail your arms in hopes you can strike someone as doing something is better than doing nothing, but that's false as correctly throwing a punch and distancing yourself from the threat to safely land a blow is not something retards can understand
