(First post, I've been lurking for years)
I would like to thank the japs for subverting jewish control of the music that I listened to when I was a child in the late 80s.
Looking back the pop music that was pushed was all totally kiked and I even thought black rappers were cool as well as early boy bands with sexed up lyrics.
The final fantasy games offered me the comfort of being able to listen to music that harmonized with my spirit. The Megaman music helped me feel true energy.

You reek of newfag. That aside, there is plenty of quality vidya music. You're not going to find any good music from what the mainstream pushes out. Artists on Soundcloud and bandcamp put out much better works.

Why the fuck are the Japs so good at making catchy music? If there's a song stuck in my head, it's usually some anime OP or music from a Japanese game.

Japanese composers sample from actual melodies instead of intentionally produced garbage, Yoko Koshiro is known as a 'genius' for ripping off jazz songs decades old for her work just like other musicians that produce their own melodies. Plagiarism is king in the music business as long as you can produce something that doesn't sound like shit, halfway decent music schools also helped. Music schools in western countries just like most "art" schools are marxist breeding grounds now.

I'd mention prog and fusion but that very well researched video you posted mentioned those. Jazz fusion, prog rock and city pop are well done "newer" music with classical elements since the composers weren't degenerate retarded niggers.

The music schools in the west only teach you how to play your respective instrument well, but they don't really teach you how to compose. As a result, grads just play in concerts or join an orchestra.
You're right about them being marxist breeding grounds though, they blacklist you if you aren't a leftist degenerate.

I think Japs do it best, but there are some amazing western VGM composers. Usually they're better at more complex orchestral stuff. Jeff van Dycke's stuff is really good.

Why do people keep posting Mare Nostrum? It's neat but it's far from the game's finest music.
Also for anyone interested the Hand of Fate games has Jeff Van Dyck as the composer and it's got some pretty neat tracks, although the combat tracks are nothing compared to his TW work.

Tim Folin is a fucking wizard when it comes to video game music. I'd post some of his good compositions, but I'd just post most of the soundtrack for Plok, as well as shit from Silver Surfer, Solstice, and fucking Pictionary of all things. However, I'll post this instead because Tim somehow manages to make a song fucking crossfade. On the NES. What the fuck.
