Amazing racing game from an amazing series portraying the Tokyo Illegal Highway Racing scene.

It had probably one of the most amazing progress systems I ever played in a racing game, and customisation that was pretty cutting edge for the time.

The biggest disadvantage is that there's only a few games, and almost all of them are released on one platform per game (Dreamcast, PS2, PSP and X360).

The reason I'm making this post is because I've been thinking if it's a good idea to make a PC game cloning everything but the logo.

The game developer Genki tried rebooting the franchise with a mobile game back in 2016, but they had to shut down the servers the same year due to the lack of players (probably because nobody knew it even existed).

I doubt they exactly own the IP, and having a new Shutokou Racing game might not be such a bad idea in the ever growing world of micro-transactions (if all of you think so as well). But that's only me…

If I recall the series had some pretty bad reviews and one of the tokyo games were UNBEATABLE due to not changing the value of a yen to dollar properly and the number would cap out at 9 digits.

The series is call Shutokou Battle, and it's been going on since the SNES, YOU FUCKING RETARD!

I already know Genki has a bunch of Japanese Exclusives and Obscure Releases that are mostly unknown to the world.

But still, those games fall under the typical "race them, cross the finish line first" category. Tokyo Extreme Racer is unique specifically because of it's "health" based free-roam racing system.

Don't assume it's all the same just like that…

Forgot to answer you:

1. The only games poorly received in the series are the shoddy International Ports of the series outsourced and translated by studios who like to rush it out.

2. The US version is an example of that very statement. Don’t get me started on the Non-Japanese PSP port of the first game.
