>First Homefront and call of duty ghosts often get made fun for having stupid plot involves North Korea or Venezuela invading America and conquering multiple nations

>Homefront gets rebooted with a plot dumber than Homefront 1 and ghosts with North Korea becoming Apple

>Revolution a game with North Korean villains that still has anti-capitalism themes and most main villains were white men

Who the fuck ask for a Homefront reboot! Not even Homefront fans liked revolution. It blows my mind Homefront the Revolution happen at all.

I have seen barely anything on its actual implementation.

Western media are making fucking documentaries about it not showing anything in action

and being like "good that we have democracy!" and "it's not that bad here, see".

It's probably only done in a few selected cities.

And China is huge. Those country bumpkins in some rural village aren't as effected as the rest anyway.

I never understood why Ghosts gets so much flak, if it changed a few things it would've been better. Make the enemies into a South American pact instead of Venezuela and drop COD from the name and it would've been an amazing original title.

Homefront's villains were supposed to be China originally but they changed to NK because they were too chicken and wanted to sell there as well. Retarded move but nothing could save that trash either way.

I thought revolution was good in spite of the "antifa simulator" elements. The core gameplay loop was better implemented than the recent Far Cry games. It's VERY obvious that the enemy is supposed to be China, and once you catch onto that, the story premise makes sense. And don't pretend China wouldn't use sellout executives to influence America, when they already do that IRL.

I think they had some sort of problem like that with Total War Three Kingdoms but don't quote me on that.

Also the average chinaman scams the chink govt more than poz'd western media would want you to think, Diablo couldn't be sold on their stores because it had demonic symbolism but the people in charge of actually selling shit just rename the game to sound the same as the western counterpart and dodge completely the censors. >Kike in the hood

I remember I was looking for cosmic horror themed games and I found out this game was about cosmic horrors. I did hear of it from /v/, but mostly that it was tumblr shit so I couldn't understand how that shit was about cosmic horrors so I pirated it.

The game is slow as shit, all characters are unlikable as fuck, but I have to admit, the cosmic horror aspect was handled relatively well, I mean, it was not another "Tentacle monster is killing everyone", it was actual about cults and impending dooms and dealing with shit you don't understand. I still don't believe is a good game, or that it has a good plot, but that specific part was better than other games that try to do the same, and that's surprising coming from the kind of people that do pic related.

I give the game credit for building up the horror well enough that you don't really care that the plot is terrible until the illusion is shattered at the end. It gets you in the mood for an intrigue that it doesn't deliver upon because it thinks it's a character based drama.

I'm fucking ashamed to admit that I honestly was liking the game at the start because I thought this was just preamble and rising action and not "I'm like a cutscene away from the end." I thought the point of building all the characters and junk was a black spot and it was preparing these characters for something fucked up to happen, cause it really feels like that going in blind

>Arby's there, thanks to a ridiculous contrivance over a civil war that's still going on despite the fact that the covenant has no fucking leaders whatsoever, with the last one getting murdered like a retard on the first goddamn mission of the game.

>No real main conflict, it instead is an amalgamation of unexplained forerunner bullshit, Cortana wanting to "ascend humanity" without going into motivations, and AI LIVES MATTER!!! because fallible, mortal humans with bodies that die off are apparently at fault for not knowing the secrets of immortality to make an AI immune to rampancy (which is already sort of stupid, how the fuck are AI suddenly suffering from electronic cancer? and why the hell are humans putting them in charge of important infrastructure despite knowing this?)

Halo 4 also had moronic characters and retarded moments but at least its central conflict attempted to build something up, good thing I didn't buy this one because I'd be really fucking pissed.

If you ignore the baste negro gun's seller and accept that Snake suicided instead of being rescued by BB at the end of the game it's pretty tolerable. I don't think the titty monsters needed a copy and paste IN DA BILLAGEH story, and having Ocelot basically unconfirmed on whether he was Liquid possessing his brain with nanomsheens, The Sorrow's genes giving him latent ghost powers or just him merely pretending to be retarded would have made it all more poignant that all Snake did was pretty much pointless and the real villain was well intentioned but couldn't control his own creation.

This game though, this has got to have the worst plot in gaming, beaten only by Jankcore slav shooters with bad translation patches. A game about parallel universes by a person who doesn't know how parallel universes work in either science or fiction. The re-arrangements of popular music and the artworks are literally the only saving grace. Think of all the cool shit you could have done with a bunch of Flying Racists and their Joseph Smith 2 Electric Boogaloo papa. Instead no, you were the real monster all along and fuck you.

The Evil Within 1 because it's overcomplicated.

>guy named Ruben has his family killed by an angry mob.

>to cope, he creates a machine where people can log their minds into, to end up in some kind of Matrix.

>Ruben gets an assistant, but assistant works for an evil cooperation led by a guy only named The Man.

>The Man orders assistant to steal Ruben's work, so he does, so The Man starts to work on a seperate project with the same invention.

>Ruben is killed, cut into pieces, his brain removed and used as a source to create that Matrix-world.

>Ruben (well, his brain) creates an image of himself in the Matrix named Ruvik, which is the villain.

>while the assistant works on his own on the project and is a seperate villain.

>while The Man ALSO works on his own project and is a seperate villain in the DLC.

>three main characters enter the Matrix and try to stop Ruvik from escaping back into reality, but the female character works for The Man all along. The events of her story happen whenever she's absent in the main story.

Combine that with an attempt to be like Silent Hill:

>Rubens sister appears as a monster, the original intent was to reunite with her. He might be in love with her, at least its implied.

>The Box-Head monster is the representation of a hidden, locked away key Ruben had to protect his inventions.

>Several stages appear which were created by the main character's subcontious, not Ruben's. Etc.

I still like it. I appreciate the attempt.

I bought this game because Mikami made it, and it feels like he wanted to throw everything at once into this game, so it became a mess. And some setpieces are unfairly designed.

The DLC was much better, and had way better stealth feedback. Also, I'm mostly a fan of the Resident Evil series for the monsters, less for how good the games are (so I can even appreciate RE6). And Evil Within has some monsters which could potentially have been "iconic", if the game got more praise.

>I never touched 2, should I even bother.

It's waaaaaaay better than TEW1. The story is more simple and has some emotional weight. The monsters and villains are cool. There are some callbacks for fans of the old game. What happens to STEM is a logical progression of the first game. The game has a nice structure and pace, with many of the places to explore being optional. It somehow manages to have semi-open world jumpscares which I've never seen but always wished for.

Oh, and the game actually ends. But what happened to Ruvik is completely ignored.

There's also a sidequest in the game which could have potential for a future DLC, which will never come, but I find very interesting.

If you liked the first game, I highly recommend the second. Because it's the first, except good. I even go as far as putting it on the same level as RE4.

To think that infinite was considered many people's GOTY. I remember when I bought it, and didn't finish it until I finished the free copy of bioshock 1 it came with. Holy fuck, infinite was bad all around in gameplay, but the story is the cherry on top. The parallel universe nonsense, the ghost fights, the uninspired not-plasmids. While bioshock 1 & 2 were criticisms of libertarianism and utilitarianism (bioshock 1 more so than 2 was), I cannot decide what infinite was supposed to be. Fundamentalism? Blind fear of a supposed evil? None of it made sense. Why did they even bother with anything once Elizabeth could take them both to new dimensions? She could have just warped them both to a dimension where they had a blimp and could fly off to Paris. Makes no sense, as it was a timeline that should have existed.

That's because Bioshock Infinite is an unfinished game, made by a hack developer, who wasted who knows how much money making several dozen builds of the same game until 2K had enough and told him to publish whatever was already "finished". Basically, almost the exact same thing that happened to Kojima with MGS5.

What pisses me off is the wasted potential. If the promotional material was of any indication, the game originally was built around the idea of exploring both sides of a social revolution while attacking the romanticized perspective of "good vs bad" so often associated with the image of the revolutionary opressed with the vox populi constantly escalating their hostility, up to and including public execution of innocent civilians, all motivated by a supposed hero of the people that in reality was just Red Comstock enacting a spiteful revenge, sort of mirroring the communist uprising in russia. Not that it was anything groundbreaking or totally unique, but it would've been nice to see a game that tackles an uprising in a more realistic maner and showcasing how it's rarely protagonists vs antagonists and that it often has the unfortunate consequence of deposing a tyrant only to have a worse tyrant take its place.

The idea of the player choosing when or even if they decided to interfere with some of the events hinted at a neutral point of view for you to reach your own conclusions, who knows how much the devs wanted to explore the setting through the mechanics of the game, but alas, we got stuck with whatever the hell the convoluted mess of release is. It's MUCH worse when you factor in the DLC episodes which are fucking amateur fanfiction on top of an already faulty story.

I actually got the game for free with the leftover I had from Xbox Live Gold so my morbid curiosity wanted to see what the fuss was about. Just to get the "most" out of my free game, I played that shit in the highest difficulty and boy howdy was that shit completely fucking broken. At first it was really hard with everyone pretty much 3-shotting me until I remembered I could minmax the upgrades to hell and back by pumping all the stat gains into the shield (essentially giving you an infinite health bar that constantly grows) and mana to spam the shock-jockey since it's the most "cost-effective" of the vigors. I hit the roadblock with the ghost boss until I noticed that the shock-jockey actually burns enemy bodies, meaning that I entered a battle of attrition with the ghost until it had no bodies to resurrect, effectively rendering the fight completely pointless.

But that's not to speak of the true hilarity that ensues once I got the Winter Motherfucking Vest. Lots of people also complained how the handymen are awful at the highest difficulty but that's not entirely true, since you can constantly bait them to shock the rails with your sky hook, stunning themselves for a couple of minutes and giving you a chance to hit them a little bit before going at it again. It's pretty annoying and repetitive but that also renders the handymen utterly useless, but the Winter Vest makes you completely invincible for a few secons after landing from a sky rail, meaning that the last fight with a handyman, often considered one of the toughest parts of the game, was now nothing more than filler as you jump up and down the rail for maximum invincibility.

I know that this isn't precisely about the plot of the game but, since the topic of Infinite was brought up, I wanted to add how the game fails even at making an inflated difficulty mode. Doubly awful since they also touted 1911 Mode as this ultimate difficulty setting that drastically changes the way you play Infinite.

I think that, although stupid and confusing, it was a cool "The revolution is as bad as comstock" moment. Then I realize that in Burial at the Sea, the nigger dindunuffin and it was the twins that told her to kill the son of the guy, because niggers can never dindo.

I'm amazed, the only relatively well part I thought of the game was retroactively fucked.

I never understood how anyone thought this game was well plotted out. The ending was so bizarre. I understand the intent, but in actuality she takes Booker back in time to the point of baptism and drowns a man that no longer has any potential to become Comstock, at a point of time when he makes a choice that literally results in him *not* becoming Comstock in the first place. And then everybody clapped.

Oh, and since you mention handymen, Columbia as a setting is retarded, doesn't make sense, and it's far more boring and less functional than Rapture was. Handymen were supposed to be the Big Daddies of Colimbia, but their implementation is fucking retarded.

>Handymen were created to help disabled people

<Turns out that it doesn't help you but you are actually constantly in pain and that makes you a danger to everyone. They are not necessary for Columbia, and, on the contrary, are an actual threat to it

>Big Daddies were designed to protect little sisters and repair rapture underwater

<Although the process to become a Big Daddy is maybe as gruesome as handymen, their presence is VITAL for rapture, both for keeping little sisters safe and to repair the damn thing, and they only attack those who attack them

So you can see that Big daddies are vital for Rapture in every way, Little Sisters collect ADAM, after all, and their presence were more of noble giants, and served well as optional battles, which made them great, intimidating enemies, completely fitting of the setting.

Handymen? Don't make any fucking sense, nor for the story, nor for function, and they are shit enemies on top of that. They are just "sky monkey big daddies". I get that Columbia was supposed to be on decadence and misguided, I guess? But so was Rapture, and that was characterized better there, and even then, Big Daddies still worked as intended, whereas Handymen are only a threat because fucking design flaws that were going to blow with or without Booker.

To put it simple: Rapture was in decadence after a fucking civil war, and it worked better than Columbia in it's best years. Furthermore, Columbia was going to collapse very quickly with or without Booker, whereas the plot in Rapture moves on BECAUSE of Jack, seeing how it functioned for some years before Jack arrived, and even 10 more years for the events of Bioshock 2.

>I understand the intent

This is literally what I tell myself. I understand the intent, I truly do, the whole "there are infinite outcomes" was very clear, and the whole "You have to stop living so Comstock never exists in any time line" is interesting, but it's not well executed. And it's not the first time this happens, reminds me of that awful "butterfly effect" movie.

That's actually one of the parts that ground my gears to a halt because the setup is non-existent: after reaching the part where the vox are in open revolt, everybody's like "oh fuck it's booker hell yes!" and treat you like a war hero since in that timeline the character is actually a martyr. For starters, they don't question how is it that Booker is alive, they just run with it, I assumed it was for the sake of keeping morale high, but then you reach the part where Daisy Fitzroy notices you, who you would think will use the oportunity to consolidate her position by announcing the heroic return of Booker and further her own goals, decides that "U IS ACSHULY A SPY OR SUM SHIET!!!" and suddenly EVERYONE in the vox turns against you. No one questions it or has second thoughts about fighting their supposed hallowed martyr and war hero, no divisive opinion on such a completely rushed decision on Daisy's part, no, it's like a switch gets flipped and now the vox wants you dead.

Then Daisy pulls the kid to be held at gunpoint. This bitch who you've met a total of what? One or two times? Suddenly is this awful leader who will kill a kid, and all for what? She kills the kid and then what happens? It's not like the kid holds big sway over anything and is just Fink's kid, she's just using it because plot convenience or some garbage, only to get killed like a retard by Elizabeth in one of the most ridiculous and melodramatic scenes I've ever witnessed. It's all forced, contrived and pulled out of nowhere with no buildup or foreshadowing of any kind, like within the span of a second the game goes from Vox Gud! to VOX BAD!!!, completely unwarranted and undermining the originally intended message of the game.

I doubt the people behind Infinite thought about the setting more than "it's the new confederacy!". Frankly, there's so much shit about that game that just makes no fucking sense or is just there to piss you the fuck off. Like, if you spare the Confederate guy, he ends up being lobotomized while Booker makes a fucking quip about your choices not mattering, and i'm sure they only do that because they don't want you sparing Comstock, or even questioning why you can't spare him. Or how they end up permanently crossing over to another dimension, yet Booker is still fucking obsessed with getting the Disney princess, or the fact that the society is shown to fucking hate blacks, seemingly has no use for them outside of janitors, yet still allowed them onto their ideal version of paradise.

Bioshock Infinite is pretty similar to Prometheus. If you look into the development history, you'll see that the game had like 5 different pitches and they were all very different than the game we eventually got. My guess is that the reason the story and world are such a clusterfuck, is that they are the result of a lot of different scripts all stitched together without any attention to cohesion.

On 13 November 2017, Daniela Soleri – Paolo Soleri's daughter – published an article on the website Medium accusing her father of persistent sexual abuse, writing:

"In my early adolescence, my father, an architect and craftsman, began sexually molesting me, eventually attempting rape when I was 17."

>We start with Dante who has apparently been getting sucked into limbo, fighting the demons who send him in, and leaving limbo for over 10 years. he's never asked any questions about who's responsible, why any of this happens, or has tried to put a permanent stop to it in that entire time.

>The main villain who is big bad business man owns the entire world through his demonic business stuff, he's worried about Dante despite the fact Dante is a dumb shit who has done nothing but piss around for over 10 years

>Dante's Twin brother the leader of Anonymous who has been hiding his existence for over 10 years and not doing anything himself send some chick to go get Dante. Dante is incapable of shooting the boss demons in order for Kat to throw a magic Molotov Cocktail that makes bullets effective, to seems like shes useful

>Dante and Kat go to talk to Vergil who Dante doesn't recognize as his Twin, Dante is then sent to his child hood home in order to remember the fact he's never going to forget that the big bad ripped out his mothers heart, despite the fact he forgot that for over 10 years.

>Dante and Vergil are now Half Angel, despite the fact there are no Angels in the game so their Angel lineage has zero relevance on the story, Sparda who was the catalyst for all of the original series events due to him being a badass who decided to save humanity from all of hell, is now just a balding guy who's only significant deed is the fact he fucked an Angel, and hid away from the big bad instead of doing anything about him, and then hid his children away wiped their memories, and is now forever a gimp in hell, that Vergil says it's impossible to save him, because it's impossible to save him.

>Vergil sends out Dante to do everything he wasn't doing himself for over 10 years, Dante kills a demon that's been producing mind control soda the big bad is visibly distraught over this despite the fact he's supposed to own the entire planet, and is controlling all of humanity with that soda, so you would assume he has more then one factory and more then one demon supplying the soda to over 6 billion people

>Next Dante fights demon Bill O'reilly to destroy demon Fox News that is also controlling the human race, this demon has been talking shit about Dante on TV so you would expect beating him to mean something, but Dante never interacts with the public a single time in the entire game so the news being against him doesn't really matter.

>The Swat Team busts into Anonymous headquarters and starts killing all the people there that Dante never interacted with a single time, Then Kat gets taken away

>Dante goes to fight and kidnap the big bad's mistress because she's pregnant, to use her as a bargaining chip to rescue Kat, The pregnant demon woman uses her unborn child as a giant boss monster, right after this fight, the swap between Kat and the mistress happens where Vergil does the sniper rifle abortion, your meant to feel bad about that I guess, despite the fact minutes ago the player was hitting that unborn child in the face with an Axe

>Finally Dante goes into the big bad's base to confront him (which would have just been the immediate first thing the real Dante would have done from the start) the big bad asks what has Dante actually accomplished beyond getting people killed, Dante is an idiot so he has no answer to this, and taunts him over the fact his child is dead to get him away from the thing giving the big bad his power.

>Vergil turns off the thing and they kill the big bad, only for Vergil to say now we will rule over humanity, The game now wants you to think Vergil is evil despite everything he does in the game making complete logical sense. Dante is an idiot so instead of trying to talk about why they shouldn't rule over humanity, Dante and Vergil just fight to the death.

>Vergil nearly dies and leaves to go to the DLC that is going to actual turn him evil so the sequel that's never going to happen will have him as the villain
