Final Fantasy Lightning Edition was a decade ago. Dissidia 012 Final Fantasy was roughly nine years ago. That means "best in years" is really only looking at the 13 sequels, spinoffs, and 14. And 14 is its own beast because of the mmo aspect.

I didn't think Fable 3 could be so bad, but I finally installed it and oh fuck

>Default for pausing is "P", you cannot change it to Esc because that's the mandatory button to teleport back to base
>You have to walk to different rooms to change weapons/clothes/hair/etc in your magic hideaway
>Armor/clothes appears to just be cosmetic
>Your main source of getting stronger is shaking hands with villagers
>Combat is spam fireball/boolet and occasionally rolling away
>An hour later and the game is still tutorialing me
And then there's the shitty rewards for going off the path.

>The very rare silver/gold key an unreasonable distance from anything
>A demon door that requires 2 players
Should also add the areas tend to be full of nothing. While exploring I found none wondering NPCs and maybe ten wolves. Is there any point to continue playing this heap?

I'd say no. I've been trying to play it myself and between the game being locked to 30 FPS if you use VSync, excessive screen tearing if you turn it off, and the weird FOV and sluggish controls and camera I've wound up getting motion sickness.
I was even getting a little enjoyment out of it due to the harder difficulty turning off health regen, only to remember that the only penalty for dying is a minor loss of EXP.

Well you see, Peter Molyneux is a big silly child who lacks a fundamental understanding of the concept of prioritization, and thus as he moves to include more and more individual features into the game it comes at the cost of the depth of singular features within the game.
I believe it was stated best that the guitar hero minigame and the code that goes into deciding how the population dies based on your association with any particular individual in Fable 3 came directly at the expense of the weapons system.

Trips of truth, Fable is so boiled down to it's apt title. While quaint and peaceful town settings serve as a sharp contrast to the antagonist who will appear, living a breathing fable world serves only the weirdos who liked that fantasy realm to begin with. Xbox needed to have something to showcase and it served it's purpose but not many asked for a second helping.

i literally can't complete fable 2 due to how boring it is, everytime i need to do something i need to do the gay minigames to earn cash because they decided to not give you gold after you complete a quest so you must buy real estate to have a steady income, and the combat is not only worse than the previous game it is also ==really fucking easy== i thing in my playthrough i only got hit like 3 or 4 times it's how braindead easy it is. I have no hopes for fable 4 because i heard it's being developed by the fags that make the forza games, god knows how are they gonna make a good arpg.

Back in the day Fable III was pretty fun to play with a friend on Xbox 360, but It didn't age well and the PC port is pretty bad.
Biggest complaint about Fable II was it was way too short and the coop was kinda shit, but trying to get all of the achievements was fun.
Biggest complaint about (Xbox 360 version) Fable III is the game runs at like 20-25FPS in some areas, and with assloads of motion blur. I didn't notice it when I first played it all those years ago, but I booted it up on Xbox 360 last year and I couldn't play it for long because of the low framerate and motion blur giving me motion sickness.
Fable TLC is definitely the best overall, but being able to play Fable III with friends and visiting other player's worlds to collect all the weapons and get achievements was fun, definitely something you had to play when it was new to get the full enjoyment out of it (obviously the online for PC is shutdown now and I doubt too many people are playing the Xbox 360 version in 2020).
All of the other games aren't even worth mentioning.
I don't really mean to defend Fable II or III all that much, I just feel like it's easier to be hard on a game when you didn't play it in the intended way(i.e with friends at launch on console). Also everyone forgets that Xbox 360 achievements were all the rage in 2008-2012, everyone wanted massive gamer score so the achievements themselves added lots of fun and gameplay to Fable II and III.

Dirty Bomb is dead, got shutdown last year I think. They made some poor decisions and the hardcore neckbeards in the player base drove out all the lowskill/casual players, making the concurrent user count circle the drain until they just pulled the plug.
