Tf you all talking about, there was like 100 different plants with unique animations, designs and allll did different things, and it was for PC and later mobile. It was strategic, AMAZING sounds track, and had a much of mini games and collectables, not to mention you could only use a certain amount of plants so you would have to really think which plants would be the most useful for the enemies which you get to see before hand. Everything about this game launched further pc indie games in motion, not because of the "tower defense" but the pure about of effort and time put into a not-so simplistic game

It's from PopCap. If I remember correctly they just had some browser website, but they also had some games in stores. Their games were usually mixed in with the "Adventure" games, that were usually just lazily made point and click adventure games for $10 either in their own subsection or just at the end of the isle.

Yeah it originally released on PC but only a few months before releasing on other platforms, there are between 1-2mil owners of the PC copy while the iOS/mac version had 25mil by 2013, likely triple that today. It's very much an ipad/mobile orientated game and sales reflect that.

Played through 1 in one setting. Both times the main "story", all the challenges, wave 37 in survival, then I stopped and uninstalled.
Gave a try to 2. Saw how P2W it was (especially with plants levelling up and you needing LOTS of money, which isn't surprising considering it's a mobile EA game) and gave up before even finishing the first world. Maybe I'll touch it up again when there'll be a free, complete, gacha-less PC version.
