I have a normal curved monitor. It's nice.

How big is your monitor?
A lot of the curveds I'm finding online are like 27" for 1920x1080.
It's impossible to find a 4k curved smaller than 32".

I have 34" curved ultrawides and the curve makes no real difference imo.
The extra screen real estate of an ultrawide is great for productivity or QoL for general use. I'd always rather an ultrawide than 16:9. Games that don't support the aspect ratio will just get horizontal letterboxing which is fine really.

I'd sooner jus thave two monitors, sounds like cancer if you're prone to playing 4:3 games.

I kind of doubt curved does any good smaller than 27", even that you'd practically have to stick your nose in to get any benefit. It's only when things get really really big, like 2 27s side by side, that the curve becomes something desirable.

Better to go with dual monitors rather than try to use an ultrawide for multiple applications.

I never thought about that before. Already I'm running a ton of widescreen hacks for 16:9 and some older games are stuck in 4:3 or you can't change the FoV.
What I do is use a cheap 42" 1080p 60hz television with 4:4:4 chroma and another smaller monitor on the side mounted in portrait that fits the main screen perfectly. The PPI is off but it's fine for what I use it for. Corner to corner it's 52" across.

How are curved monitors in general? I feel like if my monitor was curved I should be sitting a specific distance away from it for the full effect and that sounds kind of annoying.

Man I hate how the aspect ratio gets stretched more and more. I have to buy shit 2nd hand nowadays to obtain a 16:10 monitor. They hardly even make them at all now.
Currently there is no monitor on the market that has the specs I want and is 16:10.

Never get an "ultra wide" monitor. You are actually getting 18% less area with a 21:9 rather than a 16:9. See this image for the explanation. https://files.catbox.moe/764f1m.png

I really enjoyed the one I had but it was also suffering with a number of games at the time not even having a native 16:10 resolution.

Couple people at my workplace requested curved monitors. All but one wanted to get rid of theirs and requested old monitors back within two weeks. I got to try curved ones for a bit before they ended up in ITs supply room.
For all (negligible in my opinion) benefits, you have some downsides:
>glare
>mounting issues
>they take up more space
>less flexibility if ultra wide curved screen is used to replace dual monitor setup
>might feel very strange and uncomfortable
First four can be dealt with with some extra work. Last one might go away with time or it might not. I was uncomfortable with ones that were under 32. Once my eyes got used to the 32 one, I did not find experience being any better than a single flat screen, and inferior to dual monitor setup. If screen space is what you are after, dual screen setup will work better for most applications, especially gaming related. Honestly, only games I can see curved monitors being superior for are plane sims and racing games that support ultra-wide resolutions. However, in those cases VR probably is or will be even better.

Sometimes I run my 16:9 1440p in 2560x1080 because ultrawide is great for certain games like fpses. You see more stuff on your screen with higher fov and running FEELS a lot faster.

Personally I have yet to come across a game that doesn't support my native resolution. In fact older games that are stuck on 4:3 look better on 16:10 due to the increase in vertical height.
It is likely I'll have no choice but to switch to 16:9 for my next monitor. There are only a handful of 16:10 screens being made today and all are with older techniques and/or very expensive. I'd love to go to a 1440p or 4k equivalent at 30ish inch and with 120+Hz 16:10 panel but there is no such option.
People underestimate how great 16:10 is for almost everything. It's much much better to work on, but in my opinion also much much better to game on. Especially top down, isometric and even 3rd person camera views. Arguably only with movies 16:9 or more stretchy screens are better. I do not at all understand the trend of going for more and more width on screens.

Monitors are damned expensive where I live. A decent 4K monitor at just 60Hz is like half the price of a good-great PC. Looks like I'll just stick with 1080p and go for a higher frame rate.

A display should only be (optionally) curved if it's large. Curved 27" 16:9 displays are a common trend and it's fucking dumb.
Even televisions that really started the trend of home displays with concave curvature have abandoned curves in later versions. Like the LG C6 I have is curved and the C stands for curved, but LG abandoned curved TVs since they didn't sell as well so now they have an LG C9 that isn't curved so what the fuck does the C stand for anymore? It's like the Switch Lite can't switch between docked and handheld mode so calling it a Switch no longer makes any sense because it doesn't switch.

Human eyes can't notice beyond 30fps except in panning shots and only by removing motion blur, you are not a jet fighter.
All your movies, youtube and porn is in 24fps or 30fps.
