Man. Armored Core is fucking dead. Every pieces of mech-related media that has had ties to Armored Core has been terrible. Left Alive? Shit. Daemon X Machina? Sold like shit despite its placement in several Nintendo Directs.
Those two games had to be good and sell even better to make Fromsoft consider making a new Armored Core game, but they both did very poorly. Armored Core 6 if we do ever get it, Will be some janky-ass souls-like.
I blame the fact that Armored Core completely failed to build a real world to base its games in. Armored Core has always had fucking atrociously-presented plotlines, and overall weaksauce world building. If AC had a competent writing team behind any of their games, they would be instant classics.
But without and story to really get players hooked, it's just a game with cool ideas, but nothing to really hold you there.

the basics of it is that you enter a free for all arena with a class rating ranging from D to A, you kill all of the players until the boss show up, repeat this in all of the categories and you'll enter the regional and world rankings that are some gay 1v1, you can also do challenge matches that have some limitations like wheeled mechs only. i'm surprised nobody copied this game and made a current gen one with online play, S.L.A.I had it for a while but konami took down the servers fast, the only one that barely compares is HAWKEN but that game is absolute trash
