Rewatching the original Cyberpunk 2077 trailer from over 6 years ago, and I just thought of how cool it would be to play hack-&-slash games that's in a completely futuristic, science fiction setting (With NO fantasy, magic, and/or supernatural elements involved). The problem is that there is only TWO games that I know of that come close, and that's Proxy Blade Zero and Dynasty Warriors: Gundam. And, probably Metal Gear Rising. Every other game that comes to mind is either a shooter in some compacity, an RPG, or Star Wars (Which is science fantasy).
Are there any other science fiction ONLY hack-&-slash games?

Why is this shitty amatuerish trash constantly shilled here?
Why did I love it and want a sequel at some point?
Since Gundam counts, would Transformers Devastation count too?

Maybe considering it was made by the same team who did Metal Gear Rising i think

Furi probably doesn't count, but its a sci-fi melee game with some shooting. I liked how Dune handles combat, with shields rendering guns obsolete so soldiers have to revert back to swordsmanship.

You did, but it's not a very good weapon. Leaves you too exposed and doesn't deal enough damage to warrant the risk.
I'm sure some crazy lad has enough balls and skill to make some amazing youtube videos out of playing it, but your average player will most likely find it a niche and\or frustrating weapon.
Especially considering your alternatives being 2 weapons that transform into multiple different guns with plenty of utility and ranged damage.
Only way I can see the sword being viable is if you learn to cheese the dodge maneuver they introduced as well after putting it in their Shadow Warrior game that's quite broken there with no stamina to limit it and thus makes dodging attacks very, very easy.

It's possible to create a lightning fast melee swordfighting build in System Shock 2. If you max out agility and melee skills, once you get your hands on the laser rapier, you're pretty much larping as Raiden in Jack the Ripper mode.

It's actually CoD done well and the monetization at the beginning wasn't godawful trash.
It was one of those early popular F2P titles, when the concept wasn't as normalized as it is now and it was pretty decent.
Kinda like WarRock and Planetside 2 before cancer hit.
With them I learned never to play any live service cancer

The "free to play" aspects were actually well done.Back then there were only few F2P games that were good Blacklight/Planetside and A.V.A
This short list made it better than 90% of other games and many F2P games can still be judged based on it
>You could buy things Permanently with basic game currency
>Picking up weapons from people you killed
>Sniper rifles would still shoot straight even when unscoped
Something that was unique in gameplay was the radar that allowed you to see through walls for a few seconds that eliminated camping,Mechs at the begging but if you were going against veterans they would rocket you down or burn you out of it and steal it ,and good weapons customization
Another thing that I haven't seen in any other games is the cool scopes that are in Blacklight and before it was infested by the PS4 version the Menu and UI/HUD were great.
