Use this thread for when you remember a game from your youth but don't know what the fuck it was.

My father worked at comic stores which sold comics, toys, and had some arcade machines. In one it had Mortal Kombat 1 and the other had Mortal Kombat 2. However, right next to the Mortal Kombat 1 cabinet, was a side scrolling shooter. This shooter was notable for the voice effects and the fact that you rotated the control stick to change the angle of your shots. The main thing I recall is that at the end of the stage, you went to a sort of weapons locker and could grab all sorts of weapons for the next stage. I thought the game was 1989's Midnight Resistance, but the weapon locker doesn't have one very specific weapon that I remembered, called

SHOWER!

It would bring a rain of blue lasers down across the screen.

Could anyone help me figure it out?

https://www.invidio.us/watch?v=jDemH0VZ3n4 Midnight Resistance for comparison.

I cant help your quest anon but i remember playing one of the games on the mame32 emulator it was a bit adult themed. I think the gameplay was one of those where you try to reveal a picture while running from things that kill you. And when you finished you could see anime babes look at their bodies and tiddies the vagina part was only censored. I remember those parents but i have no idea what the name of the game is.

That kinda reminds me of those "kiss doll" programs that were some sort of offshoot of flash games and basically were glorified point and click games that you had to click certain areas to get things to happen, or in the most basic of ways, click one spot a bajillion times to simulate animation.

A puzzle game where you control a tank and shoot laser beams.

The beam has an infinite length, and can either bounce on sloped/mirror blocks, move blocks, destroy blocks, or go through blocks depending on the block type. I think brown(?) blocks got destroyed after getting hit once, even if it was a mirror block. There's also bombs that destroy other blocks around them when hit. The objective was either getting to a flag or destroying all enemy tanks or something. You could hold down any key to repeat it many times very quickly (e.g. destroy a row of enemies by holding the laser key). There was also a level editor to make your own levels in. It's NOT LasterTank, that's the only search result I can find.

I think it looked similar to pic related, the tank sprites especially look very familiar. I'm pretty sure it was a downloadable PC game, probably some freeware indie game. It could have been a flash game but I'm pretty sure I remember downloading it.

Side-scrolling beat'em up featuring two rabbits with a cartoon aesthetic in .One of the weapons you could pick up was some sort of fire extinguisher using water.

The bad guy was a queen bee which kidnapped some girl(s) in the intro.

Nah,it had a more cartoon aesthetic and I clearly remember the baddie being a bee queen.First level was a generic and colorful city environment.

It wasn't particularly interesting outside of being the only arcade game which didn't work on the emulator I had and it not being in english in any way nor having any sound, but I genuinely wonder what the fuck that was.

I don't think anyone will figure this game out for me because I can't remember jackshit about it but all I do remember is

>shitty graphics, most definitely a ps1 game

>you played as ???

>had to jump around or above wolves or some form of dog

>big rock

I've had this game in my memory for fucking years since I was 9 and I've never been able to figure out what game this was. I was thinking tomb raider at first but my memory of the game and tomb raider don't match, I don't remember who you played as but it definitely wasn't a woman. I think the walls of the map were just sky too. Might have been one of those test demo games.

I think the map was mostly rock, I remember it being something like a long rectangle map. You're at the back and you go forward, you jump from rock platform to the next to avoid the wolves. I specifically remember that because it scared the fuck out of me back then for some reason. Running away from those niggers was terrifying.

One game I've been looking for for years is a freeware PC game I played ages ago. It was a 2D platformer where there were no enemies, just boxes and powerups you had to search for. You start at the bottom of this big randomly-generated world made of boxes, and you have to climb your way up. You can only jump up one box in height, but you can pick up and place a block, and each powerup you collect adds another slot you can carry a block in. (They trailed behind you.) You spend most of the game building stairs and platforms, following an arrow that points to the nearest powerup. The game ends when you collect every powerup.

>Racing game on the N64

>I think it was bright and colorful, with many stages I remember taking lace during the day

>Could be wrong, but I think the game also had some special challenge maps- where the maps had a wireframe or very "arcadey" design

>I also don't remember if the game was trying to be a "realsitic" or an arcade racing game

This game has been on my mind for years, especially because I have a somewhat interesting story about it. One of my parents rented it for me at a Blockbuster. While playing it one day, the television I was using got some weird static for around a second and then was never able to play sound again.

I once tried to find it a year or two ago, but I had no success.

There was a game that some kid and I played while my mom had some wine tasting party at one of her client's house, it was one of those Pac-Man 3D games and he was just showing off by beating the final boss, some ghost-looking dude on a floating island and there was a tree in the middle. What I want to know about this game is that I specifically remember my name and his being in the credits, like you could enter it in or something. >Top down Medieval Fantasy Dungeon Crawler

>Early 2000s

I remember playing a demo of it. I played as an elf that was portrayed as your typical fantasy elf (Tall, green clothes, long blonde hair). I think you could play as a dwarf and maybe a barbarian. There was this old 3D flash game my sister used to play, it was really basic and from what I remember you just rode around on some horse-thing and rounded up giant dragonflies or insects of some kind to feed them to some god. The game world was really flat, drab, and basic but had overly epic music for some reason.

I'll describe both the games I've been looking for for a while. Both of them were played as demos in the early 00s.

First game was an isometric action RPG where you controlled one character around a map with a classic fantasy early-game grass and woodland theme. The character had three slots for equipping skills, which were split into red, blue, and green classes. Demo campaign was maybe two missions long. Second mode was versus bots in a presumably randomly generated map where you searched for skills or picked them off enemies you killed. One skill was "bread" that healed you, another skill was a lame fireball that didn't seem to do much, but when held by the AI, had them throwing fire all over the screen at times.

Second game was some kind of fantasy RTS with one mission. Map was divided into left and right halves with mountains between each side, opening in the middle to a few buildings. Gameplay consisted of sending units to capture prebuilt structures on your side before advancing into your opponent's side to capture their buildings. Probably some kind of white/black or red/blue theme. Player side territory was grassy and healthy, AI side was like a dead forest. I think units acted automatically, but each player could interfere with a series of powers or abilities.

I have asked around about this, but have never found the answer.

I remember watching my older bro playing this horror game around early to mid 2000s. You play as a woman and the game takes place inside some kind of creepy hospital/run-down mall

But every now and then the creepy environment would change to become a totally normal, pristine shopping mall, and it would continue to alternate between creepy and normal as the story progressed.

Cannot for the life of me figure out what the hell this game was.

Spooky Castle Adventures of kid Mystic- game may have had two different versions as a whole or even a unique update, because the one I played had cutscenes and a magic sword and a secret boss room with a floating skull and a giant mushroom (callied mushies) king that shot tiner ones that was a semi optional obstable bos will never know, only played it twice, the original I had on disc that was semi-functional, and another I found online and pirated.

Also, Action man games, I know I played the driving GTA one that felt like vapurware aesthetic both the demo and some of the full game on emulator later, and then there's the one with the giant maneating plat that goes WOLOLOLOLOLIIIIIOOOOO and tries to hit you with it's tongue- and had Skynet terminators called killer machines that can only be hurt by (not kidding) the weapon named machine gun which is the same texture and model as the AK-47. Mind boggling. Also had a toxic tank spider that made this ASMR noise I could listen to again & again.

There were two other Action man games I played, one with a menu that had a boxing bag and had missions in an Ice field chasing professor Gangrene, and it was awesome, and another in the same vein that offered players kickass printout expasions to your existing action man action figures. The other main menu for the custom print off the Action man items was a jungle I think- I know both PROBABLY came in cereal- Cheerios, probably

It elludes me to this day because Action man awesomness died out because they ruined the 3d EMP IT UP Action man TV series with toy shilling after season 2, and replaced it with ATOM which sucked.

I have three ancient games that have eluded me. They were old as shit educational / edutainment titles made for the Apple II.

One is pic related. You were an astronaut that landed on a planet and you collected rocks/nuggets all while answering simple problems from a bug hive all the way up to solving riddles from a queen. The game was a huge multi-screen maze which was most of the fun.

The other is an ant colony game, sort of a more text-based early SimAnt. It had simple graphic screens with plenty of text menus, pretty standard for Apple II.

Finally is a typing tutor, probably pre-Mavis Beacon or around then. I just remember it had 2 minigame modes with one named Cat & Mouse where you type a word fast and correct before a Cat nabs you. We all remember it in school since the speaker would play out a loud "OUCH!" each time you messed up. The screen would just flash solid colors going "OUCH! OUCH! OUCH!" when you game over'd.

There was this 90's PC game where you played a bandit on the run from the cops in a top down maze with shitty 3D sprites. You could toss dynamite at them, but the burning wreck of a cop car could still run you down if you didn't move out of the way. Played this at my cousin's house as a kid and for the life of me can't remember what it's called. It might've been freeware.

<You wake up on a slab in some lab in the first level

<Maybe you are half mechanical or something

<There are non-hostile scientists in lab coats roaming around

<When you shoot a scientist with the weakest weapon, he falls to his knees and clutches his stomach

<If you shoot him again you finish him off

<if you kill enemies with the flamethrower, they use the classic burning torch man animation

I played a puzzle game on the PC when I was a kid (pretty sure it was in DOS at the time), and all I really remember about it is that it was a top-down view, it was in 2D and you could gather flippers to cross water areas or skates to cross slippery (ice, presumably) areas, and that you had to gather keys of specific colours to open specific doors (may not have been keys, but cards or something).

I searched for it a few weeks ago and was sure I'd found it when I tracked down "Chip's Challenge", but after playing it I can say for sure that isn't it. Unfortunately, all searches I do for any game of this nature lead only to Chip's Challenge but it doesn't line up with my memory of the game at all. No clue what it could be.

The flippers and skates thing makes me think it might be one of the many Chip's Challenge clones, of which there are many. Worth looking to see if any particular screenshot clicks with you, as some are just carbon copies with a different coat of paint and mild adjustments here and there.

Oxyd or some of its clones had items and keys, but those have drastically different gameplay, in where you have sort of analog control over a marble and roll it around, solving puzzles, matching pairs of hidden blocks.

The only other things that come to mind are those terrible LucasArts games like Yoda Stories. I think they made two or three of those.

I faintly remember some game I played on a family friend's PC a long time ago.

It was some kinda SHMUP set in space where you shoot enemy space ships (that may or may not be steered by chickens) and dodge meteors.

The graphics were pre-rendered 3D, think like DK64 where the sprites are just snapshots of animated models.

The aesthetic was campy sci-fi, think stuff like space pit-stops sitting on a meteorite with accompanying signs and such.

I think the plot was that there was an invasion from an alien chicken planet or something, it felt like an invasion of sorts, don't remember.

The entire game is set in space, I'm certain you never fly through any atmosphere that isn't the starry void.

You also had pickups (that may or may not have been dropped by enemies) that looked like cooked chicken or turkey that made an audible crunching sound when you pick it up, I don't remember but I assume that there were smaller drumsticks you could pick up, and the whole chicken was a premium pickup.

I am not sure of the scrolling direction, I only remember it going up but there might've been levels where it went to the right as well, not 100% on that.

It is NOT a Moorhuhn game.

The family friend is an old boomer and he probably barely knew how to use the PC he had, it felt like a game that came preinstalled with windows or something a relative installed for him.

The memory of the game only recently came back and I feel really curious about what game it was, I was always excited to play the game when I visited him, but since the stays were limited and I was too young to be good at these kinds of games, I never finished it.

I remember it being isometric maybe, but I could be wrong. You start in some sort of dungeon, and there were a few characters you could talk to. Game had a text adventure style parser that let you talk to NPCs. I remember being able to take off all your clothes, which of course I did because I was like 9 years old.

one of the NPCs was a whore that just anoyed your character whenever you talked to her, the last character I remember being there is the pilot who took you to the different levels and was a bit of a dick to the PC.

>all the characters had a different story.

>The samurai(warrior) turns out to be a clone and rescues original at which point the player can chose to either kill him or kill themselves and continue on with the original samurai.

>the Spec ops(ranger) was part of some military organisation in the past and meet's the psychic and can choose to shoot her or spare her(this all happenes in a flash back when she confronts you.

>The psychic(spellcaster) didn't play her enought to remember her story.

>the game had you fighting mutants that were infesting labs. If you were using mele weapons you could dismember them and when fighting the big ones you could just chop off their legs and instantly kill them.. If you used a flame thrower you could also instantly kill the big mutants by burning them which had a special animation.

It came out before 2010 and no it's not a shadow runner game. If I remember anymore details I'll post again.

I have one, I think it was called Russian Roulette 2: sword of destiny, but I'm not sure, no matter how hard I google-fu I can't find anything at all.

>Released in the 90s I think

>Starts in a really crappy CGI with your grandfather or something telling you that shit is fucked and you must travel in time to fix it and gives you some magic sword.

>3D

>There were vehicles you could use, the interiors were more or less sprites.

>Open world

>Post apocalypse

>Three factions

>One was green themed and I think their emblem was a four leaf clover, their first level vehicle was a steamroller with machine guns and rocket pods.

>Other faction was some sort of classic punk rock bandits, with red theme, I believe the emblem was a skull, their first vehicle was a jeep with machine guns.

>You would walk into each factions HQ to receive missions, usually something like go there, kill these things, go here pick up this thing.

>Third faction was the enemy NPCs which consisted of darker green mechs, tanks and helicopters.

>There were also other vehicles like a plane if I recall.

>Oh and in the middle of the map, between the two faction HQs there was also some abandoned amusement park, with some fucked lovecraftian structure in the middle

All of these memories are very vague, It might have been Russian developed so if we have any .ru-anons perhaps.

I never actually played this game; only saw a promotional tape at some now-extinct chain store (maybe Babbages' or Egghead Software).

Time period: late 80s or early 90s

Platform: either DOS or color Macintosh?

Genre: first-person arena mech combat

Graphics: extremely boxy 3D. The mechs looked like someone slapped together a bunch of clear plastic shoeboxes with magazine cutouts of robotic limbs taped to each side. The game tried to explain it as light-disorting force fields or something. There were some nifty pre-rendered 3DCG movies that showed the otherwise sleek mechs powering up their shields and turning all boxy, like the personal shields in David Lynch's Dune movie. The actual gameplay footage didn't look nearly as cool.

>I faintly remember playing a game like that, but I think it might've been a browser game. Pixelated graphics, and every so often there'd be a cutscene where your character briefly collapsed and puked blood?

Nah man I didn't have internet at the time. I don't remember coughing blood either but it fits the tone… The graphics may or may not have been pixelated, I remember the colors were vivid, although most of the environments were gray-ish, there was blood and a bit of gore and everything.

I think it may have had 'urban' somewhere in the the name but I am really not sure about that… I kinda remember the main menu - it was black background, blue letters to the left (new game and so on), and to the right there was maybe a robocop looking face/guy

I wonder if you guys played point and click adventures on the PC alot, because I need help remembering one. This one had a theme that was almost halloween-like in it's 2nd chapter. The character you control was wrapped in bandages from a conflict that occurred earlier in chapter 1. You had a weird town that was a mix between a shanty-town and halloween, and one of the things you could do was dig up a graveyard for a townsperson to drag the corpse out (which I think was alive?). It was an animated point and click game, but the graphics were close to 3D, that or they were nicely-done pre-rendered graphics at the time. I'm not sure what year it was though. It definitely was not Harvester.

(unknown old mech computer game with weird boxy force-fields)

>>16810534

>>16810604

No, it was neither of those two titles. I would have remembered if it was the original Mechwarrior (I played the hell out of that one), and the mechs in Shattered Steel look too "good". The boxy force field design for the mechs in the mystery game was likely an attempt to work with technical limitations of the time.

Thinking about it bit more, at the end of the game's promo it listed what computer brand it was made for. I don't remember which one was specifically listed, but I remember being annoyed that it wasn't my machine, so now I'm pretty sure the platform wasn't DOS. So it was probably a Macintosh game (or possibly even Commodore Amiga or Atari ST).

Unfortunately, it's not Avara either. The game I'm trying to find didn't use the typical flat-shaded triangles common at the time.

It's hard to explain with words, so I drew a rough sketch of how the game would have represented an autocannon mech arm. Instead of using many polygons to approximate a tube, it would have just slapped axis-aligned textures of the cannon arm onto each of the six faces of a bounding box, with the in-game excuse that the mech's "shields" were disorting its appearance. Each part of the mech was made like that, so that meant the mechs ended up looking weird as fuck.

I used to play a top-down space game where you played as some kind of marine on some alien planet, defending a base against waves of aliens.

You could also go invade the alien nest and destroy the "spawners" or whatever, there was also upgrading and progression elements if I remember correctly, and you could upgrade the base by building turrets.

I've tried finding this game for almost 5 years now to no avail, I remember it was a browser game, but I don't know if it was running flash. God I hope not.

I think I played this game on Sega channel.

It was a puzzle game, sort of like a hybrid between picross and tetris. It had a play field full of colored blocks, and the goal was to select the blocks and make them disappear when they're touching the same colored blocks. The idea was to make them disappear in the largest possible clumps until the entire field was cleared.

I can't remember exactly how it looked or even how it played, I think it looked something like this, I do remember that it had weird polka music and I want to find it just for that alone,

Don't know how much help I can get for an educational game, but it has been on my mind for a while now.

Not me as a kid, but I remember my little sister used to always play this weird educational game that I really want to find again for nostalgia.

It was a 2D PC game from somewhere around the 2000's. It's artstyle was pretty distinct, but also had this generic western "I wanna be Disney" feel. At the start, an anthropomorphic dog in a sweater(?) would come down with a hot air balloon with a bunch of little pets you could choose from. Most of the game took place in this schoolhouse(?) where you could choose from different minigames, of which I remember are a bathtub where you click on bubbles, a station where you colour in masks (presumably to print out?), and a game where you and the dog take photos of the animals. There was also a livingroom area where you could feed your pet and click on the TV to watch crude animations for nursery rhymes. There is an end goal where you eventually rack-up enough points to get a certificate for your pet, and choose another country to send it off to? I think?

That's all I can remember. Please let me know if any of you have any idea of what I'm talking about.

Raptor and Tyrian shooters kind of died off when bullet hells and other gimmicky Japanese shooters started to get known in the west. I don't have anything against, say, Ikaruga, but that was around the time that the old style of not-impossible shooter kinda took a backseat. I personally think someone could take those old ideas, put them in a box with Einhander, shake it really hard, and come up with a decent new shooter. Actually, I think there's an /agdg/ anon trying to put together a shooter, but I dunno what it's about.

Not the game. It was zoomed in closer, you had to control a group of people, and there was a starcraft dialogue box where the model talked when dialogue needed to happen.

This game does look interesting though.

When I was young, perhaps 15-20y ago or more, I played a game that I can't find anywhere. It's been a long time since then so bear with my spotty memory. The game was on PC, it was 2d, it seemed to be heavily jrpg influenced but I can't remember if it had the gameplay of a jrpg. However I'm sure it was an rpg. The mc was a boy/young man. The game was quite long and I vaguely remember there was some sort of lewdness in it too. I have an image in my head of how it looked like. Kinda like old console games (SNES or newer era) but the graphics were very sharp compared to how I remember old console games' graphics; it wasn't pixelated at all. Maybe it looked kinda like pic related but nicer (newer?). That's just a pic i grabbed from google. I'm trying to remember the combat and it's possible it was not jrpg/turn-based type. To recap: I'm sure that it was on PC, it had "Japanese/maga" inspired 2d graphics, it had some sort of lewdness in it. Maybe it had a longer/weird name.

Theres this really old game, probably from the 90's. Its a point and click adventure game. I don't remember much from it other than that the villain (probably a snake, beaver or a crocodile) of the game was trying to cut down precious trees in order to profit from making toothpicks. The characters in the game were all animals from what I remember, except the PC probably.

No one probably knows this but whatever

I have vague-as-fuck memories of a C64 game featuring crabs… You played as a red crab, and you had to collect these worm-things that would emerge from the background whilst avoiding… some other thing which I don't fully remember. I also remember there was a pink crab that would show up in the end-of-level screens, and as Player 2 if you were in the 2-player mode. No, this game isn't Grab-A-Crab, I've been pointed at it already and it's not the game.

It's one of those shitty early 2000s edgy "RPG" flash games like Frank's Adventure but this was an one off, not part of the series. Gameplay consisted of going around getting items and talking with characters.

Okay, I'll try and ask my own.

There's three of them

1) the first I am sure I already know the name but I just can't remember it, it was basically a "strategy" game, 1v1 on old ass computers (probably commodore and dos) where you would control team colored mice and your objective was to eat more cheese than your opponent. There were like a ton of options to customize the colors of the screen that had no bearing on the actual game, but it's one of those that my late gramps had installed alongside Helious (no fucking idea why he had that, to be honest, I'm fairly sure the IT guy who got him a PC was some sort of meganerd).

2) Another PC game, I'm assuming it was for Windows XP, it was sort of a visual novel type of game where you were playing as a school kid trying to impress females and get through the school year, you would allocate points to studying selected subjects and you also had to manage money (one of the options I remember is choosing a gym membership to get fit), it was in a computer lab from like twenty years ago but for some reason it left a huge impression on me, assets were likely stolen and/or clipart.

3) Finally, another PC game, this one was sort of like chess except the pieces would move all kinds of weird, like zigzagging and whatnot, it had 3d pre-rendered graphics and the pieces would beat each other up when eating them, it definitely was not battle chess as I also had it and it looked nothing like it, more like some veggietale type of 3d models.

Ok this is a weird thing but 2 BOOKS not games I cannot for the fucking life of me find.

I couldnt afford games as a kid so all the games I played I distinctly remember, but there were 2 books I cannot remember.

One is a Vampire parody book set in a college, the main character is stalked by a smelly fujoshi neckbeard that plays with play dough and chugs mountain dew. The main fraternity is a cult, and one of the initiations is to run around like the cultists from BLOOD with hot dogs up their asses.

The other is a childrens adventure horror novel goosebumps knockoff about a cursed carnival where they turn people into trees and mash them into apple cider, then feed it to the next guests. The novel ends with the main character escaping then his parents get squished by a giant dinosaur.

pic unrelated, its a lego skull.

There was a game I used to play with my father when I was really young on DOS, it's some kind of puzzle game with a square board made of little squared tiles. There were also blob like creatures of different colours, there were also some kind of king or tribe of that creatures and they would get squashed when the tiles flipped and then fell on them. It might came with some kind of game bundle. I've never found this game again and would be very glad to find it.

He stood the other corner away from you of the screen spamming tornadoes that traveled horizontally from his side to the players

After so many years i haven't found any version that works like that, i have asked family members and they also remember it like that, in a previous thread some anon answered that rugal acted like that also

But with no physical iteration like that, i would like to know…

What version was it?

Asked about this for years and never got anything but here goes:

The game was part of one of those compilation disks with a bunch of free game demos/short games. It was an isometric real-time combat game with a sci-fi setting. The player started in a fortified compound where they could buy weapons. I vaguely recall some kind of high tech melee weapons but no ranged weapons (this is a very vague memory). Outside the compound I recall some ruined buildings and aliens/mutants/something of that sort. If you retreated into the compound with enemies in pursuit there was an airlock that dispensed a gas which would kill any enemies without effecting humans.

That's all I can remember, pretty sure I'll never find out what this was.

The hardest one yet, /v/. Send all the help you can get I really don't wanna die never finding this game.

A long time ago my older brother burned a CD to load up in a SNES emulator on my E-Machine, and one game in this medium-long list of games he collected went by the filename, and this is me stretching my brain to max capacity remembering: "Dynamitr," Which definitely wasn't the game's name but may be a clue.

The game starts with a title screen with this ridiculous lip fluttering vocals that just went "DUM, DAHHH, DUM DUM DAH," over and over again, and it was incredibly catchy. Whole game's in Japanese, and when you start it, you pick from a line of about 10… maybe 12? Characters, the first character being a random anime sprite protag, the second being a girl, and one was some strange bowser-alien hybrid, but they all looked different vastly after the girl, and you could play as any of them for a playthrough. Each had their own spaceship sprite, and you flew around an overhead map like in mario, except it's all in space, from planet to planet, station to station, and there was this journalist woman following you in a ship that you could talk to at most places to record your progress and save your game almost anytime. At any point, you could actually just skip over all the planets and stations and stuff, and go right towards the end, where apparently the ending is based on what you did in space up until that point, but for some reason I always got this ending where the character you play as, is #3 on the top 3, winning… whatever it was that apparently a contest of the sorts?

Oh and while I'm at it, this one isn't important but it'd still be nice, some space game in low res ps1 3D where the faces are ass ugly like the harry potter games and the majority of the game was picking the right dialogue in real time, and the beginning had you crash in a hanger trying to save a guy who later vouches for you being innocent of something if he's still alive but fucks you over if he's dead.

The sprites are definitely big and boxy, and I don't remember the game being graphically impressive even for its time. I also think I remember needing a flash light and keys for exploration but it's possible that I'm mixing that bit up with another game. Graphically and gameplay wise, Dirty Harry seems like a pretty close match but my game was darker and the cover art looked more like Nightshade, with a very mysterious character on it. I haven't ruled out entirely that Nightshade is the right game, but I don't remember the gameplay shown in the videos of it at all.

Lots of licensed games have cops or cop-like protagonists. Could it be Darkman? Total Recall? Die Hard? The Blues Brothers? Kinda grasping at straws now.

Sounds like the only thing that would help, yeah. I thought it might have been Total Recall since it was my dad's game and he was a fan of the movie, but no, that wasn't it either.

You can give up any time unless you guys are having fun.

Ive got 3 that ive never found out what they were.

1.) Isometric 3d shockwave-flash game where you pilot a sort of hovership/spaceship in a mine.

Had to go around and collect ore/crystals to progress and upgrade your stuff.

There were enemies but i dont remember what they were like, other than they MIGHT be sort of 'tentacly'.

The whole game had a sort of dark lighting/color theme. I think i remember being impressed by the headlights actually lighting things up when turning the ship around.

I remember one weapon was an electric lighting thing.

2.) This one is a hell of a stretch, good luck if anyone knows what the hell im talking about/ can find it.

It was an 'online' space game where you could go around doing missions to earn credits, e.g. transport this item, kill this person on this planet.

You could also buy and sell cargo to make a profit on different planets.

The layout of planets and that is the top left of my picture. Bottom left is what i remember one of the guns you could buy. Bottom right is a sort of "battle scene" (i think it was just all flat and any attacks where the only animated thing).

i I also think there was a sort of hyperspace graphic when you jumped from planet to planet, just the typical going into a starfield in the center and having it go by you.

3.) A fairly early SHMUP, i remember a lot of bright colours, and the fact that the ship was rather small. I remember that at least the first level was on a planet, bright green ground and deep blue sea.

I THINK you could fire missiles onto the ground with a separate fire key.

More about the SHMUP.

It was a vertical-scrolling one.

Its not xevious but it looked more similar to it, but had higher detail.

I remember the ship the player controlled was fairly circular and maybe UFO shaped.

>There were some nifty pre-rendered 3DCG movies

Gonna take a stab in the dark because its obviously a more obscure mech game from the early 90s, my first thought was Iron Assault but it doesn't have the light shields. It does however have the bullshit lying CG cutscenes.

A car racing game with weapons that you used to destroy the other competitors. Had some dude, full body not a floating head, talking in the corner of your screen. I think he was the host and maybe looked like Glenn Beck. Released between 1990 and 2000.

Town management flash game, your town consisted of shape people (square, circle, triangle, don't remember which one) and you had to defend against invasions of different shape people. Anyone?

I'm not even sure if this game is real or if it was a dream that I had and mistook for a real game. I hardly remember any details about it. It might have been isometric or fixed camera angles If it was real it was likely on the PS1 or PS2. Maybe the N64. I remember the first area being a dark castle. I remember fighting a boss in the castle that pushed you down a long, narrow hallway until he pushed you into a pit. I got stuck in the pit and ran against the walls fruitlessly. The pit was small and quite dark. I have some other memories that may be related to it (my brain seems to think they are). Something about time travel relevant to the story that was performed by walking on blue sigils placed throughout the game. It may have had an anime look to it.

I've looked at dozens of games to see if I can place it, but still haven't found anything.

I have vague memories of this cyberpunk/dystopian 3d point and click adventure for PC. I think the game was from the mid 00s. At the start of the game your character is denied entry by guards in front of a large gate. After that during a cut scene you return home via train. You then arrive at your neighborhood apartment where you can walk around freely and explore.

PC game, early 2000's. Most likely 2002.

Adventure-action game

Winter, New York

The game begins with you, the character, being framed or accused of murder.

You have to find stuff, solve puzzles, talk to people.

The game then becomes weird, you get some kind of superpowers.

The action part is based on mashing specific keys or combination of keys.

At the end you fight inter dimensional aliens on the streets of New York with superpowers.

I remember this one game where you attack mars and other planets with alien presence on them. You could also beam humans up to save them. There were (as far as I remember) several ships you could unlock with varies pros and cons. It was an early 2000s game and it came out on the ps2. I'm also looking for this one game (also in the early 2000s and for the ps2) where you have a cool vehicle that can transform into a car, a boat, and a sportsbike that had integrated weapons on them. The main protagonist was also a spy as far as I remember.

There was this PS2 hunting game that my cousin let be borrow for a while around 2003-2005. It was probably one of the Cabela hunting games but my main issue is I have no idea which one it is out of the fucking thousands of them that were pumped out.

The few things I distinctly remember about it were these hunting towers set up that you could climb into, Polar Bears were one of the animals you could hunt, and there was a mechanic/mode where you needed to get a hunting permit in order to kill an animal or else you’d get a penalty.

I remember the latter 2 distinctly because one time when I was playing the game I saw a polar bear start to run at me in an ice region while I was scoping out another animal. My mom was watching me play and yelling at me to kill it, but I knew if I did I would be penalized so I just let it kill me.

It probably still is Midnight Resistance. There actually is a weapon called Shower. At least in the Amiga version there was. Drops are random, so that could be the reason it didn't show in your video.
