So I've been going back to MGS for the holidays using PSX. I wanted to show of the Mantis fight to a friend but got no clue on how to switch ports ingame.

Checking Multipad makes it so the game doesn't even recognize Pad 1 anymore and putting in keyboard controls in Port 2 doesn't do much either.

Is there any workaround?

PS: I know about destroying the gasmasks, I just want to know if the port switch is possible

You need two controllers. Or rather, setup two controllers.

On an emulator, I usually set the first controller as a game pad and the second one is mapped to the keyboard. Mostly to play multiplayer games with friends, but for that fight, you can just switch to using the keyboard inputs and it should work as intended.

If not, tell us what emulator you're using.

Then we make this a thread about MGS and you can fuck off back to 4/vg/, dickweed.

Are you setting up your keyboard under Port 2? I mapped my keyboard controls there but wasn't able to get a response ingame.

Currently using ePSXe 1.9.0. It allows for 2 ports each able to assign 4 pads. However mapping the controller to port 1 and mapping the keyoard to port 2 did nothing.

It also allows for multipad which opens up the port from 1 pad per port to 4. However when I map the controller to pad 1 and the keyboard to pad 2 even my controllers has no response ingame.

Not sure where you read my opinion about the emulator. I just can't get it to work

Besides your sperging, any recommendations for another emulator?

ePSXe is fine, but the graphic emulation is kinda shite, same for audio. You can get better results on other emulators but consider this:

Most will take you somewhat longer to setup than ePSXe (not that long, but still…)

Some will give you sharper object geometry, some have better resolution, some do better with audio, etc…

Point being: if you can't tell there's anything wrong with ePSXe, changing is pointless because you wouldn't see any difference anyway, just lose time you could spend playing.

Aka: leave that crap to purists, or look into it as a research hobby, not much point in having anonymous people telling you WHAT to use.

About Psycho: guess I misemembered

What you need is to keep Gamepad set up for Port 1. Enter the fight, make a save-state. Exit the emulator.

Now change the controls of Port 2 to the same gamepad, load your save state and pronto, he can't read your inputs.

I think it's much more satiisfying to beat him "normally", but if you're just trying to prove a point to a friend, go ahead.

>Hey guys, I know we have a small board, with very little activity.

>Do you know what we need?

<Clamp down some motherfucking rules on this bitch and tell people to fuck off

You'd have point if you did this shit in the discord-trap thread being constantly posted, or the actual "Hey guys, cuckchan is so shiiiit, lmao" thread that's STILL FUCKING UP, MARK DO YOUR FUCKING JOB.

But someone puts forth a question that might generate discussion around it, and think DA RURRREEESSS is what's needed?

Yes pal, you SHOULD go back to cuckchan and their selective rule enforcement.

QTDDOT threads are cancer that kill opportunities for interesting discussions.
