Hey /v/, so I've never really got into euro jank game like gothic, elex or technomancer, I've fucked with them a bit, but really didn't get into them like something like Devil May Cry or Saints Row 2. but I've been hearing good things about Greedfall and was wondering if its worth trying out as combat looks fun and it generally looks like a good open world game.
My main issue with something like Elex is that combat was very slow and wasn't very dynamic despite taking place in real time, and it was starting off really really slow. Additionally the factions of the game weren't really that interesting in concept since all you had was the Amish Wizards, Criminals and People who worshiped Machines. And while I was only a few hours into the game, I could already tell that the gameplay was going to be a bit of a slog, which is something I'd prefer to avoid. So seeing Greedfall having a more dynamic system is something of a breath of fresh air.
Additionally from the research I've conducted the general consensus seems to be that the game seems to be a tad on the easy side and that the AI is retarded. Which is another question I wanna ask being "How's the mod support for this game, and does it fix the issues the game had in the first place". That said when I am looking at this game, it does seem like quite a bit of fun. Generally I want to ask anons who usually buy these eurojank games how they enjoyed greedfall and what issues they had with it amongst other things.

It looks like the same game Spiders has been putting out for the past decade, that being mediocre Bioware clones with that ultra janky Witcher 2-esque combat system of theirs, and most probably the music is the only redeeming part of the game and the first chapter will be the longest with the most side quests followed by a middling second chapter and an ultra short third/fourth chapter.
I'd say pirate it to be on the safe side but I don't really imagine Spiders can amount to anything more.

If you watch gameplay it looks janky and stiff. This feels like the same situation as CI games. They just keep lumping on more graphical effects and stealing ideas until it's a frankenstein version of a below-average triple A title. Then people lap it up because it wasn't published by EA .

Is that something that can be improved upon thru patch? Greedfall looked interesting, and I couldn't stomach Bloodborne at 30fps.

Alot of pretty cutscenes was an instant red flag for me since the better a game is presented the less deep the gameplay. I was right. My first encounter consisted of two wonky bandits with a gunman who can shoot through walls.

Well greedfall does already seem to have a few basic gameplay fix mods such as fixing the camera but it could be a whole year before people finish overhauling things like animation and collision detection. You already played sekiro I'm guessing ?

No, but plan to one day. I am a bit behind, maybe a few years, but I usually end up playing a final edition or GOTY type deal with all the dlc etc.

Its OK. Gameplay is serviceable which is fine if the RPG side of things balances it out. The story and RPG stuff is good but there is just too little choice, too little impact you can have in the world and story.

I couldn't get past the horrible DOF effect you can't turn off. It's especially bad in conversations, the whole background turns into a blurry blob.
Every fucking UE title seems not to have separate DOF and moiton blur switches these days.

I think Spiders lack the finesse and writing skills to tackle a subject like colonialism without coming across as preachy and moralizing.
Frankly, they should have just struck with sci-fi and traditional fantasy.

been playing for a bit, just got to New Serene
my biggest issues so far are the awful shaking camera that bobs around even when you're standing still, janky movement system (it would also be nice to have a jump button to avoid getting stuck on fucking curbs and pebbles), mystery meat character models that seem to have been made utterly hideous on purpose (and weirdly, all of them seem to be voiced by white people - it's REALLY fucking immersion breaking to see a thoroughly african 20-something-year-old dude dressed in a tricorn and explorer's jacket that sounds like a 70-year-old Oxford professor) and the combat system that seems kind of inconsistent
I think it needs clearer feedback, maybe my eyesight just sucks but the colors seem to mush together sometimes and it can be difficult to tell in the moment whether you're actually doing shit damage or if you're just being blocked
speaking of colors, there's an ugly brown filter over everything by default, but that can be modded out
also some of the characters have mods to make them look better
that's a whole other ball game though, mods are totally hit or miss, sometimes they work and sometimes they don't

Sorta; There was immediate hostility between them, and it culminated in a large-scale attack on the Norse/Viking settlement. The saga says that the bay became “black as coal” with all the Indian boats when they came to attack.
The Vikings had brought their families there, so the situation was quite dire since they had women there. They repelled the Indians, but realised it would be impossible to settle there with their families. They did not have enough men to defend themselves against the natives, being already spread thin in their Greenland settlements.

I watched a Twitch stream of this game. Seeing niggers in unfitting period clothing confused some people who were promptly banned when they questioned it to the thunderous applause of NPCs in chat.
It's sick how being anti-white (pro diversity) is mainstream dogma thanks to constant social engineering.

Short, fairly shallow (compared to Divinity 2 which I'm playing atm) but compelling enough to play through, I only did the 'bad' end and thought it was ok. The Gun-mudslime/nigress was egregious and Fatty cleric guy was basically useless.
