So, with Episode 9 turning Palpatine into a tranny-faggot that wins and has an incest relationship with Kylo (No, I am not making that up), let's talk about the series back when it was good.

The movie says if Ray kills Palpatine, he will take her body, or his spirit will combine with hers, or whatever, Ray killing Palpatine will turn her evil. - until the movie decides no it won't do that cuz she's good.
They basically wanted to copy the "Strike me down and your journey will be complete" scene in RotJ without realizing the Emperor had no intention of actually being killed, he was just fucking with Luke.

So it was nice to know after having my friend drag me to watching that movie neither of us actually wanted to watch. I could go home and enjoy something Star Wars relater I was actually looking forward to.
These 90's PC green screen cutscenes are way more fun to watch.

So if people start saying the Sequel Trilogy is good, it will be due to whatever coming after being somehow even worse, and thinking the Mandalorian is good.

Rise of Skywalker was on par with Last Jedi, if not worse. I paid money for it and at one point I couldn't help but audibly express my disappointment, only to upset the family in front of me because apparently I spoiled it for them.

At the time of release Force Unleashed 1 was hype as hell, Now looking back on it, it shows it's age, it doesn't hold up as well as a Devil May Cry or classic God of War game, but it's still perfectly enjoyable to mess with all of the OP Force Powers, and you can definitely see the effort put into the game, stuff like how Storm troopers will hang onto railings or each other when your grabbing them with the force. The main campain areas are cool to explore, and the DLC has some fun "What if…" stuff.
The main flaw would be that the harder difficulties it can usually boil down to finding the best way to exploit the mechanics for an easier win, rather then proper skillful strategy.
Force Unleashed 2 is just kind of the first game, but worse in all areas, Bosses were given really Chunky life bars that just pad out the fights. Still it's might be worth playing at least once, just too see the ending that sets up events that never get resolved.

Even if everyone was copying the trends GoW set during that gen, the over all end result is what matters.
Force Unleashed is still worth playing if you want to see and use the over the top Force powers, and indulge in that kid fantasy of being edgy and OP.
X-men Origin's Wolverine also copied God of War's tends, but you could tell the devs still cared despite that, and end result was that the gameplay was far better then previous attempts of Wolverine as a playable character.
Both of those games are more memorable then something like Dante's inferno that just copied God of War's gameplay verbatim.

You'll want the current release of this mod here
https://github.com/jdmclark/jkgfxmod/releases
and follow the installation instructions here
https://github.com/jdmclark/jkgfxmod/blob/master/doc/install.md
It's not hard just a bit tedious
If you have the version 1.1 exe then you need to downgrade it to the 1.0 exe which you can get here
http://www.jkhub.net/project/show.php?projid=511§ion=downloads
or you can use the unofficial patch here apparently, I didn't. but the previous link doesn't have the 1.0 for the expansion Mystery of the Sith
https://community.pcgamingwiki.com/files/file/986-jedi-knight-df2-mots-pre-patched-unofficial-patches/
I tracked down the 1.0 for the expansion on some shady website I didn't even check the name of, and tracked down a no cd crack the same way, if I looked at things more clearly I probably just would have used the Unoffical patch, but it eh… it worked out.

Fallen Order? Haven't actually played it myself, but what I've seen of it looked like bootleg soleslike™ with some metroidvania elements (getting new tools to reach previously inaccessible parts of the maps) and a SW coat of paint. It even had not-bonfires. The combat looked passable, but nothing particularly enticing. Some setpieces, like the one with the big avian creature on Dathomir, were OK. The story was meh (Empire bad. #resist) and ended on a whimper. He just wrecks the McGuffin, invalidating the whole point of the journey.

Pirated it and beat and never again. Game is too unresponsive for a damn "souls like" The character moves too slow and his force power animations take even longer and they're weak as shit but that makes sense since he is basically a padawan still. The story was passable up until the ending which was basically "Wow! it's fucking nothing". I liked the idea of going single and double saber but the way the game is you dont feel like a jedi at all, the lightsabers are the equivalent of having a blunt weapon they should have just giving you a blaster and stun baton and the game would have been so much better.

Its a logical conclusion if you ignore context and take what critics and such spit out.
Subversion is good so do it as much as you can. Spectacle is good so it must be better than logic right? It can be sacrificed for the film, meshing well with what came before in this established series doesn't matter.
Context doesn't matter too much, just shove scenes in ignoring it.
If you act like a lobotomized chimp then his way makes sense, just don't think. His views are very superficial.
Its very obvious if you look at how it acts about it was always the case and the early delusions were from people not paying attention to the actual person and putting a "logical" reason to it. it was also done as shitposting a good chunk of the time but thats beside the point.
Honestly TLJ never struck me as deliberately bad, in any fashion; it just looked like an insane cluster of the garbage that infested hollywood shite, even without looking into the person i thought it was clear reaching to think it was a giant shitpost.

Looking at the picture anon posted he's not actually impregnating her since she seems to already be pregnant. He's just customizing the fetus a bit. Force impregnate would be a creampie via force teleporting his semen directly into her.
Actually this made me think of a stupid argument to have.
Let us say that in utero genetic engineering becomes commonplace and easy to do. Is the engineer that makes custom changes to your child also, in a sense, that child's parent as he had a hand in shaping their genes? I would say no to this because he is not making authoritative changes to the child's genes, but instead a skill proxy for the parents. Very simple. Now what if you pull a Sheev and Force your way right into a woman's uterus to make unsolicited changes as you see fit? Sure, you're not contributing actual genetic material, but the child will nonetheless be a product of you, the father, and the mother.

Thats incompetence, not lack of desire to use it for money. They wanted to have their cake and eat it, put in poz(and thus radically warp the brand) while getting the usual star wars money.
The side materials didn't crash their main money maker, TLJ did.
>why even change it in the first place?
To be fair Anakins birth wasn't actually very specific, he's never mentioned to have a father or anything right. Can't retcon something that was never stated.
I have a feeling it was pulling from the Plagueis novel, but missed the part where he wasn't directly created by the Sith. And the Plagueis novel is non-canon in yidsney land anyway i'm pretty sure.

If that's the actual family tree, Rey is 5 degrees away from Kylo and past 4 you're mostly safe from genetic problems, so it's not that bad.
What gets me is the need to make Anakin the son of Palpatine. What fucking purpose does that even serve? He didn't need to be related to Sheev in order to explain why he turned to the Dark Side, he did it because he wanted to revive his parents and necromancy is part of the cool kids club on the edgy side of the Force. Couple that with his loss of Padme afterwards and you have a solid emotionally unstable character that makes perfect sense he'd actually join the Dark Side.
>>16785771
>That's incompetence
Niche opinion here, but I think that's just exactly this and nothing else.
It's not greed or wanting to politically charge their movies, it's just that Hollywood is staffed by the biggest short bus you've ever seen at this point.
There have always been greedy directors\publishers\etc, they just knew what to do if they actually wanted money.
There have always been crazy hacks that want to inject their own political message in movies, they just knew how to make something appealing that actually makes you enjoy being indoctrinated by them.
But for a while now, there's nothing but dumb faggots that live in a bubble over Twitter who have no skill or ability to neither make money or propaganda but are told otherwise with all the dumb trophies they award each other and the circlejerking in the communities they visit.
Consider that Romantic Comedies used to be the lowest form of entertainment you could make since they were formulaic with very basic characters and the same plot repeated in every movie.
And yet go compare your average romcom from 5 years ago with any of the shit that's released today and it will seem like a well crafted masterpiece.
I'm even convinced that all the faggot shit they insert into the movies isn't even part of any agenda. It's just basic bitch pandering that they think will endear the public to them and help make the movie more successful. The lesbian kiss in Star Wars only shows up in the end, where critics will likely not even see it and it's there in a "feel good" moment. It's token as fuck and if they wanted to carry an agenda at all, they've have carried on with Finn\Rose romance, but they never even TOUCH each other for fear of the Chinese wrath.
There's no agenda or greed. There's just a bunch of inept crazy hacks that truly believed they were good at making movies and a very large mob around them repeating it to.
Fortunately, it seems we are nearing the end of this circus act.

I see it as the opposite. For I believe JJ explicitly stated he really wanted a "diverse"(I think he wanted an all asian cast?) Star Wars and Kathleen Kennedy's views are clear and it doesn't help that she's probably a control freak considering how both the side movies Rogue One and Solo got their directors fucked halfway through production.
I think there was always an agenda or greed, but it has exceeded the point of sanity. You're correct on them being inept crazy hacks that truly believe they are good at making movies, the different is the large mob repeating it to is now just a vocal minority(if the sales of the recent movies are anything to go by) screeching their asses out while said hacks think insulting your audience is a good idea.

>I think they were shit back then and are still equally as shit now.
Didn't said they ever were or are good. Romcoms are still trashy chick flicks but they're still well made and entertain their target audience quite well. One of the benefits of following a formula is that you really can't fuck up too much at the cost of becoming stale, after all.
They were and still are about an absolutely bland girl getting the attention of some rich playboy and living the fantasy of a romantic life with a fall off 2/3 into the movie and a resolution that ends in a kiss in the end.
Now compare that to sci-fi movies, for instance. They used to be about exploring alien worlds and civilizations with their core idea being basically "what if" and running with the most exotic and weird concepts you could think of.
What are they now? Action movies, but in space and with some drama to pretend there's any depth to it. Same shit that happened to Star Wars is happening to Doctor Who and Star Trek, it's writers simply cannot write an interesting scenario to save their lives, so naturally everything the characters do will be bland shit.
>JJ explicitly stated he really wanted a "diverse"(I think he wanted an all asian cast?) Star Wars and Kathleen Kennedy's views are clear and it doesn't help that she's probably a control freak
I get your point, and you're correct but actually it's Ryan Johnson. He hired Rose Tycho by flipping a bunch of CVs and taking in the first asian that popped up, not even kidding. Kathleen Kennedy is probably the same shit but with feminism instead.
My idea still stands however. There have always been crazy hacks that wanted to push their agendas into movies, but they were smart enough to know that getting fired or going bankrupt doesn't help with that goal, nor does it help to make something so bland and obvious that nobody falls for it.
Compare in one of the latest Pixar movies where some map in a wall shows Indonesia (or some other shithole island) as being part of China like they always wanted. It was a lot more subtle and did not really harm the movie, just caused a few complaints on twitter but otherwise the movie was still the same quality that they make. Which is far more subtle than shoehorning some interracial romance in a critical part of the movie or even having a lesbian kiss at the end of it.
I wouldn't even mind the agenda, I'm not dumb enough to fall for it anyway, if it didn't ruin the entire movie and the only thing that gives me mirth here is knowing that they have shot themselves in both foots with the first two movies and this one was an headshot.

Completely agree. I really wished any of the recent SW movies would focus on a slicer or some non-combatant so you can see the worlds and factions in a different light and it's such a disappointment, even moreso when you consider how barren the worldbuilding in the Sequel trilogy is like.
>Agendas
I see agendas as an extension of an idea, it can be done either terribly or well, and like you said I doubt anyone here is stupid enough to change their thinking entirely because some movie portrayed a concept as good or bad. The problem is that it's currently done so poorly it's not done in service of the story(Think a story about PoW camps and an anti-war agenda) or world building(think Abe's Oddssey and an anti-industrialism message), it's not a trait of a character in order to provide contrast to another character or the world, it's simply this omnipotent "this good, please clap because I think it's good" or "this bad, please clap because I think it's bad".(Think the portrayal of racism or nazis in any media) In other words its done solely for reasons outside of quality.
What lesbian kiss are you talking about? Are you thinking of Avatar's Korra by mistake?
I will say just because you can't be influenced media doesn't mean others are the same, especially children. And, watch as those kids fail in school when they use Yoda and Spock as credible sources for a quote.
I will admit that I do find some inspiration material in media in the way of "I never thought about it that way before" or "That's a great way of summarizing it", but another thing about media is that it's only as "deep" as you are. For example, one of my favorite childhood films is Dragonheart, and, growing up, I didn't really pay attention to anything in the film much deeper than just the "evil king" and the companionship between Bowen and Draco. Watching it recently, then it finally dawns on me about how Bowen was a romantic, wanting to live in a time and a world that is long dead and having to come to terms with the fact that he, himself is the only one that can make the world he romanticized about.

In the ending of the movie, when everyone's back at the rebel makeshift base, everyone's celebrating and what not. There's plenty of people hugging each other and at one point there's 2 women kissing. You could just google "rise of skywalker lesbian kiss" and you're likely to find it since it's entire purpose was to be found by LGBT morons later on anyway.
It doesn't even bother me as much as the guy hugging some space slug alien simply because they clearly went overboard with the aliens in this movie since everyone complained about the lack of them in the previous 2 movies. It's token as fuck and aliens are mostly props or potential toys instead of characters.
>just because you can't be influenced media doesn't mean others are the same, especially children
Everyone always uses children as an example for this with good reason because kids are dumb and you can easily convince them of the dumbest shit. This is never a problem because they are supposed to have parents and role models that put some sense in their head and part of growing up is learning to discern what's fantasy from reality. Of course, if you're still mentally a kid by the time you're 30, then communism being viable follows logically to you.

That's the thing that I like in media when it's present, when it gives you a new perspective over some topic that you never though before. You might not even agree with it, but you'll understand why someone would do things that way or what the price of a decision actually is.
It's not even that hard, all it takes is putting characters in a dilemma and show why everyone chooses different solutions to solve it.
It makes perfect sense that you never get any of that from the current Hollywood cast because they are completely incapable of considering any other point of view.

Kotor 1 and 2 is like fallout 3 and fallout NV, except one of them isn't garbage. If you want some mindless star wars action where you can choose either to save kittens from trees, or set them on fire, play kotor 1. If you want something more intriguing and more introspective, while characters will actually properly react to you saving or setting kittens on fire, play kotor 2.

I think of Kotor 2 as the NGE of Starwars, in that they are both to a damning critique of the existing tropes and fan expectations for Mecha Anime/Starwars.
They simultaneously treat their subject matter with respect but also illustrate the major flaws that plague them and creates a more cohesive vision of the the subject matter.
If you flip your shit whenever people even allude to any flaws in the pre-prequal starwars world building then you are going to have a bad time, but if you are fine with thinking critically of Starwars's world building then you may find some value in the game.

Calling Visas a muslim because she wears a veil and hand maiden being a nun because she's dedicated to the life of a warrior is some serious conspirtard level shit. Never mind the fact Visas wears a tight leather top and that hand maiden makes it clear that she hates her because she has a naive view of morality.
Kreia criticizing what ever you do is a smooth brain complaint, she criticizes the extremes of both light and dark side, that's the entire fucking point. She takes a very pragmatic position pointing at that the pointless murder and cruelty serves no purpose and only risks creating greater hardship, while on the other hand she also points out that blind generosity and un conditional aid weakens those that receive it, making them complacent and unable to act on their own when needed. The light/dark system very clearly was designed in kotor 1 for the player to fully invest into and thus pick the extremes just for the purpose of the points. Kreia challenges the player to actually fucking think rather than just mindlessly pick the good or bad option because they want those light/dark side points, she'll openly support actions of either alignment if you're more tactful than the light/dark side points system encourages, she wants you be better than a generic RPG murder hobo.

In Lucas lore the Sith lose their identity and form when they die and all of them basically merge into the dark side of the force and it sorts of makes sense for the emperor to say "I am all the sith," but it makes no sense for stronk cunt mary sue to say she is all the jedi considering they keep their identities and live on as ghosts.

I was speaking about KOTOR2. The game challenges the dichotomy between light and dark side, but offers no storyline for neutral, or "grey" characters. Trying to remain neutral will only make the game choose for you depending on which slider was higher at the time (like on Nar Shadaa where the thot was shoehorned into my party. Also in a few storyline moments (Onderon) your dialogue choice determines the rest of the game Jedi Master Kavar will attack you no matter what if you side with the rebel general. These are my major gripes with the otherwise great game and no redemption for Kreia, but I blame that on time and budget limits; IIRC they had only 16 months to make the game.

That's been Obsidian's excuse at least twice, and iirc the second time with New Vegas, they only gained a verbal agreement for more time to develop the game. To be so irresponsible (and perhaps naive) as to think a "verbal agreement" is good enough makes me think their own management was the other limiting factor on them making good games.

Now this makes me think that the reason a lot of Obsidian games end up being very linear in nature is likely because they have little time for other branching paths at all, not just a matter of that being their formula.
New Vegas is a good example here where you can still see the "exposition tour" that Obsidian always dumps in their games with the initual U-Turn you're supposed to take before reaching Vegas despite the game being an open-world. There are indeed ways that you can just cut straight there, but they are much less detailed and look more like quick fixes to allow for that kind of decision rather than actual viable sensible paths you could feasible do on your first play through.
It puts into perspective the Legion side since it was said they ran out of time to do proper content for them, which is why they come across so irredeemable. However, if this is how Obsidian is, then you could just assume that they'll always cut content to meet deadlines.

>Now this makes me think that the reason a lot of Obsidian games end up being very linear in nature is likely because they have little time for other branching paths at all, not just a matter of that being their formula.
It's still probably the best, or one of the best options we can get. We can either have
>open, but static world with the illusion of choice (bethesda games)
>open world that reacts to your choices, but the paths are few and they don't differ much from each other, or aren't fleshed out properly (Obsidian's NV)
>a plethora of linear paths, with lots of choices in the middle, that all end at the exact same point no matter what you picked (Age of Decadence)
>classic story-driven RPG where you go from point A to point B with some minor freedom and side quests in between (KOTOR, Baldur's Gate, and many others)
Age of Decadence is worth it, by the way. It's unique, it has kickass gameplay, the story is brutal and can be taken seriously. In comparison, Obsidian almost always have delivered in terms of story but left the combat boring, tedious or both at the same time. At least old Obsidian - Pillars of Eternity has no redeeming features whatsoever and lives on nostalgia and pretty art altogether.

Allegedly (and I say "allegedly" because I don't know shit about this myself, this is something I read online elsewhere) a "mixer" is an illustration used to test color combinations. It may simply be an unfortunate combination of a name and a word, innocuous without a certain hyper-vigilant mindset (which is not always helpful).

I appreciate the live action story cutscenes, I really did like those it felt like they were having fun with the material. But I wasn't particularly impress by the actual writing, probably because so many Star Wars stories by now have kept pulling new Sith lords out their ass. so unfortunately it felt like something i'v already seen, even if as a game it may have done what it did first, makes me wish I could have experienced it when it was new, since I can totally understand how it blew people away.
On the other hand I always new about the Dark Troopers from Battlefront 2, but had no idea they were originally from Dark Forces 1 until I played it. so learning about their origin felt awesome to me.

Start a new game on Medium difficulty. Call it .Wampa..Stompa (Case sensitive). Start in a level and as soon as it starts press pause. Now press and hold all at once C up, C right, C down, C left, L, R, Z and Left on the d-pad. While holding these down gently move the control stick left halfway, and hold all this until you hear a sound. Do the same thing with the joystick facing right, then left, right and finally left. Make sure you keep the other buttons held down during this time.
If it worked pink writing will come up, and using L, R and A you can select cheats such as 50 lives, wall ghost, next level, gravity, jump power etc. To make the menu reappear each time you go back to the pause screen C up, C right, C down, C left, L, R, Z and Left on the d-pad.

another bumber about the PC version is the Buick Cheat doesn't work, it's still in the game, you just can't access it. thankfully someone made a mod program that lets you swap the V wing for the Buick. it's on this site here https://roguesquadron3d.wordpress.com/
Aside from that I was playing the Prisons of Kessel level, and I couldn't get the damn Gold metal beacuse I was too good at my Job, I didn't Realize I had to wait for guys to run out of these bases, I just took out the bases right away, which made it impossible to kill enough dudes for the gold metal, I had to look up what I was doing wrong from a the video I got the screen shot from.

One of the last demoscene-tier games, where devs packed an insane amount of content into a small cart. But I guess all the hackerman code introduced a lot of bugs in the port.
But yeah the port is terrible. They wrote a custom compression algorithm to fit all the voice stuff onto the N64 cart, but for some reason didn't use better samples when they ported to PC. The AI on PC is fucked, but N64 has a bug where lazers sometimes pass through objects.

Holy shit I need to Jump through more Hoops to play Rogue Squadron on PC then I do for fucking Dark Forces 2
I played up to level 10 on the Steam version, but then it started Crashing in that level constantly, So I got the GOG version and I was able to move my save to that version, and smoothly beat that level, but then immediately after beating that level the fucking GOG version starts fucking crashing on the level afterward, so Now i'm back to playing the Fucking Steam version!
At the very least I found out you can fix the Camera bug by using a 60fps cap, which is a solution I should have saw coming earlier.

>How is that recent game? The one with the ginger MC that looks like they have fetal alcohol syndrome
its okay, but mediocre. meh in most departments. Gets a little janky on the wallrun/parkour and the combat is good enough but nothing too deep. The force powers are pretty nifty though. In my eyes, the biggest disappointment is how tiny the boss roster is. It does that thing where you fight the same boss at 3 different points throughout the story, but the changes between each fight aren't nearly virgil-tier

The gog version works just fine for me with dgvoodoo2 and Sui's Rogue Squadron DLL wrapper, unless you're using Windows 10 or something stupid like that.

You can also run the game with single core affinity to fix the camera bug or cockpit view if you aren't a faggot.

Yeah I ended up getting it to work now, like an idiot I didn't install the dgvoodoo2 correctly when I tried it the first time, and Embed related helped me see that I missed a step.

I remember getting that shit fucking game for christmas one year. The only reason why I remember it was because I cut myself really bad trying to get the shit out of the insanely tightly packed box. They didn't just put twist ties to keep the the stuff in the box. They also put several layers of tape over said twist ties.
That was the day I learned about cutting away from yourself.

So is Mandalorian as good as everyone says it is or is it a case of the bar being so low that anything that isn't complete garbage ends up looking like a masterpiece?

It's mostly shit, with a more then a couple of good moments. And like you said, the bar is so low, that anything that is not explicit garbage, is suddenly great.
Still better off watching old westerns, and old chanbara. Or playing decades old star wars games.

If you liked the Clone Wars you'll probably like the Mandalorian. It has it's issues
>every character will either betray or want something from everyone else, so why do they trust each other in the first place
>almost everything is a movie reference, even the mando's rifle is a reference to the Holiday Special
>baby Yoda is the new Porg
>comically evil Imperials

It's amazing how, as consensus on the sequels has changed, their opinions have changed in tandem as well. They would have made a very different TFA review if they had done it years later like they had the prequels

It wasn't just their opinion it's been pretty much everyone's opinion, who isn't a retarded TLJ fan. TFA's wasn't the important part of the sequels trilogy. It only had one job, and that was just setting up the status quo of things to go forward. The only reaction anyone needed to have after TFA was "that was good, but THE NEXT MOVIE That's is when things are going to get interesting."
TFA may have been just a rehash of a new hope, but everyone was expecting new things to happen after it, that's why TFA keeps seeming worse in hindsight. If Ray and the rest of the cast actually ended up developing into interesting characters in the next 2 movies, nobody would be care as much about TFA rehashing things, as Soft Reboots tend to do.

Mediocre, but everything else new and Star Wars related is so shit that Mandalorian seems like a master piece in comparison. I'll say the 3 first episodes are good, carried by its action, environment and music. Feel kind of Samurai Jack in a way. After that it just becomes another average TV series. Haven't watched past 5, so I could be wrong though.
