True, but hopping timelines means that the characters I loved remained in a doomed timeline, while the hero fucked off to a new timeline just for worst girl pussy. Not to mention that the new timeline you arrived in contained characters that I had no connection with.
I didn't really care for Veronica. The character development for Serena after Veronica died was top tier. I didn't really like Serena before then either, but after, she became my favorite character and best girl.

What all did the switch version add, story wise? I preordered the collectors edition for ps4 the second it was available, and I felt gypped when they announced 'the definitive edition', so I haven't played it. Might consider picking it up if they port it to PC.

I feel really conflicted about the whole timeline thing. On the one hand it undoes a lot of really good character development but on the other hand there's no way that the Hero wouldn't try to actually, completely save the world if the opportunity was presented instead of just merely pull it back from the brink. I sure as hell wasn't going to let my loli die either. There should have been some option to preform a Chrono Cross type synthesis between both timelines.

Some character focused events in the beginning of Act 2 (Erik, Sylvando, Rab) and a certain event during Act 3 about Hendrik and Jasper. Most of the other changes is QoL stuff and 3DS version content.

I am hoping this is what they added with the definitive edition, like your party members somehow regained their memories from the erased timeline after you did another side quest with them in the post game.
Chrono Cross is awesome and I'm glad to see someone else reference it positively. All I see in other threads is people shitting on it.

Yes you can choose who you marry or live together if you pick a male party member in Act 3. Haven't tried to go back to previous chapters but I'm pretty sure you keep your levels and items.
