<Common in all games
Good:
>Music
>Animation
>female models
>Character
>Stealth
>Additional content(every game has a shitton of challenge missions, both combat and stealth and whatnot)
Up to you:
>Combat: It's basically an easier prince of persia. You mash square and Batman automatically locks onto an enemy and starts fucking him up, you press triangle when an enemy is going to hit you and you counter, enemies take a lot of hits but once they're knocked on the ground you can crouch and press triangle for a ground takedown to get them out of the way, but the animation is long so you need to time it correctly and the whole thing is you trying to get a combo up as high as possible, every x8 consecutive hits you get to use a special move like an AoE stun or an instant knock out or a gadget special move. It's a spectacle to watch but honestly I'd love an actual combat system instead since bare handed martial arts are a rarity in vidya
>Stealth: Very simple predator(go behind someone and press button to knock them out) stealth with one neat addition. You have your standard bullshit(X-ray vision and safe havens where enemies aren't going to be looking), but the more and more enemies get taken out the more the remaining enemies start wising up and using tactics like looking through/grenading vents, destroying gargoyles or grapple points, going in two man groups, avoiding trap points or destroying them, and sometimes they start freaking out and shooting at nothing. It's really well done as a spectacle and I don't mind it at all, especially in the challenge mode where they have you try neat takedowns with gadgets and whatnot. They have different enemy types with every game, one that jams your x-ray vision, one that deploys turrets, etc.
Bad:
>Riddler trophies, basically 300 collectibles of something except only 20 are tied to an actual puzzle instead of laying around, needed for concept art and finishing riddler's quests all the way through. Now do it thrice for City, Origins and Knight
>Difficulty, there is barely any
<Asylum
Good:
>Best of the bunch overall, it's like a metroidvania and it's very well done
Bad:
>Doesn't have QoL improvements from the later games
>The sewer area is a bit shit
>All the bosses suck dick
<City:
Good:
>Side quests
>Some neat movement with the gliding and grapple hook launch
>Get to play catwoman
>Challenge mode lets you also play as robin and nightwing, who have their playstyles
Bad:
>Riddler trophies start getting out of hand
>That deadshot "boss"
>Start of the joker-faggotry
<Origins:
Good
>Gotham in the christmas looks wonderful
>Has the best boss fights in the series, particularly deadshot and the first bane fight
>Is basically Batman: Year One so there's a lot of neat character building with Wayne, Alfred and the rogues and the police
Bad:
>PC port is a mess
>adds the shitty ubisoft towers mechanic and fast travel too
>Out of the eight assassins, only two are actually worth shit gameplay and story wise
>Joker faggotry extreme
<Knight:
Good
>Best music
>Really interesting premise
>Gameplay is at its most fluid
>Challenge mode has like 6 characters to play with their playstyles, Batman, Robin, Nightwing, Harley Quinn, Catwoman and Red Hood(Who's pretty fun since he's murdering people instead of just breaking arms and whatnot, but no blood because ???)
Bad:
>Scarecrow's a completely different and shittier character
>The side campaigns are garbage, literally 10 minutes long which is a shame since they are tailored to a non-batman character and it's a neat idea to see
>Can only play Batman in the campaign, very rarely you get to fight using another character too but it's mostly scripted
>Boss fights are really scripted, but the Knight bossfight was neat
>Stealth sections are mostly connected to the open world, so you can cheese them way too easily
>It also adds the mark and execute shit from the worst Splinter Cell games
>Batmobile is too simple, yet overused. It has a shitton of combat segments, chase segments, racing segments, platforming segments, stealth segments and puzzle segments.
>Riddler has this shit Max-Headroom audio effect on all his lines and its grating
>Catwoman asks Batman to go fuck in a motel somewhere and you don't even get the chance to say yes
>Arkham Knight is very solidly built up but is a rehash of the Red Hood story, with a thousand times more daddy issues and its resolved in a really retarded way
>The final act of the game is contrived and happens because Batman is conveniently a retard
>joker faggotry extreme
They're guilty pleasures of mine. Pirate Asylum and see if it's to your liking. If it is, play it and see if City's open world is to your liking. If it is, then go ahead and play until you burn out from any of the games. If you didn't like Asylum, the other games won't do anything for you and the same goes for City's open world.
