Couldn't get into it whatsoever, the beginning pissed me off because I couldn't figure out how to leave the fucking first room piss off and after that it was a bunch of dialogue which was really boring to read. I've played the common routes of many awful visual novels and they were all better than the first hour I spent on the game.

I'm a day or so in. It's a good looking RPG that gives you a lot of choice in building your character and handling situations, with a lot of consequences both big and small. The murder mystery's a great central framing device, and because of how I statted my character and choosed to play, I was able to get some extra leads.

That said, I think having to roll the dice for every skill check is bullshit. You can fully stat your character for shooting and still miss a target. There's also too many long, wall of text conversations, many with important choices near the end of them, and the setting's an overwrought mess. Politically, it does randomly ask for your opinion on capitalism vs communism, which takes you out of the setting and is kinda gay.

There's no combat system, just the option to initiate combat through dialog checks or certain actions. All of the dialog and "action" has hidden checks to your various skills that only display if they succeed, and certain actions linked to a skill that require you to pass a dice roll. These dice rolls can be made easier or harder depending on the clothes you're wearing or the decisions you've made.

So hypothetically, you piss the kid off, he starts screaming about how he's getting raped, and your Fight or Flight skill passes a hidden check telling you "oh god oh fuck". This opens up the option to punch him in the face, and the higher your "Physical Instrument" skill is, the easier the dice roll is to pass. I didn't punch him, I just watched some faggot streamer do it, so the details might be off, but you get the picture.

Point and click with stats and RNG. It's not an RPG. Of lot of the prose is blatantly self satisfying, and the Wiki profile page for one of the authors is cringe incarnate. Very little replayability, unless you count different dialogue options and flavors to count. The conclusion is weak and the world is very small for a game that is primarily reading text and lower poly/detailed assets. It has some funny moments, shitty moments, etc.

Yakuza has better sidequests than this fucking game for god sakes.

Depending on how much you enjoy the story and inner dialogues it can be a 5-7/10.

I'd say its worth a pirate. I went in completely blind, and when the commie shit started to rear its ugly red head I got pretty worried. However, I hardly think that communism is portrayed in an entirely positive light here. While I haven't finished the game, there are certainly jabs at both communism and capitalism. For example, characters bring up just how ridiculous the union's demands are, and when asking the ghost of the hanged man what killed him, he answers "communism". But I think that there are more problems than just the whole commie thing here, like others have mentioned the writing is absurdly self indulgent. I also think calling it an RPG is definitely a bit of a stretch, its much more like a VN disguised as an RPG. I've enjoyed what I've played of it so far, but then again I'm a sucker for that hard-boiled detective shit. Just judging by the writing I can tell that the devs are almost certainly self-absorbed cucks, and probably don't deserve your money, so pirate as always.

Excellent gimmick, decent narrative, weak game.

The gimmick of talking to your own neuroses (and other assorted functions) is fun. Definitely made me smile once or twice. Talking to first suspect and having your volition call out the others for being shitlers was a high point for me.

Narratively I find the game so-so. It sells the immersion well even with the use of protagonist amnesia. The initial murder is something any gumshoe fan will grasp quickly. Its the end I found really lacking. You essentially walk your self-destructive supercop into your typical murder-with-extra-political-stakes. But instead of building on the 'who does Blonde Hime Cut actually work for?' or 'how far has corporate fattie gone in his preparations for war?' it cuts it all out for some historical oddity that ends up as the shooter. There were larger themes and culprits you could've been chasing but it just ends up as some manipulated old guy. Stank of sequel hook.

I found the writing ok to above average. While the writers themselves are apparently huge faggots the game takes trouble to shit and shine on all the available political view points. The game itself… is a walking VN. The skill checks are neat and seem to promote multi-builds and multi playthroughs but it suffers from some really ass mitigation for failed checks and potential soft locks. This is some basic shit that really shouldn't have made it through in a game that completely relies on skill checks of this sort.

Anyway, TL:DR - Walking VN with narrative gimmick, Worth a try, 5/10 if you don't like murder mysteries, 7/10 if you do.

Because of its somewhat loose definition in common English, you can really define it as anything you want within the current economic system. It's kind of postmodern in a way: "See that massive corporation making a living by creating opiates then selling the overdose medicine? That's capitalism."

What these people want isn't really even socialism, either. It's a more like a restricted form of capitalism, you still have the core system in place.

I think people are a bit confused about it. This is not an RPG in the sense of freedom of action but in freedom of being how you want to be. The story is the same but how you see it changes with every build which is pretty cool to me.

Seems devs tried to be somewhat impartial, but are actually lefties/old school commies that lacked any real understanding of right wing politics.
