I did, and I barely used it afterwards. Probably because when you have so many ROMs downloaded you just get overwhelmed and have no reason to play them all. Sold it on eBay for a grand $25
My coworker also had one softmodded to hell and back until someone broke into his truck and stole it.

true that. I usually stick to classic titles I love or play games made for the console.

My PSP still works, shockingly.
All the memory cards are corrupted now, though.

Based trips.
If you buy a micro SD converter you can get more life out of it. Or you can hack your swtich and get even more out of that.

That's why you sit down and decide to play a certain amount of games (No more than half a dozen) at a time.

Because I have a Vita with a PSP emulator. Trying to get to Valkyria Chronicles 4 so I'm playing the undub of 3.

I have a hacked PSP and a hacked Vita but there aren't really many games I am interested in on either system so they don't get much use anymore.

Had this thing cracked way back when the first exploit was released sometime in the Summer of 2005. I vividly remember playing the SNES Tales of Phantasia back then. Good times.
Now with the cracked Vita, not much use for the PSP itself anymore, but at times I'll play some PSP titles like DJMAX.

>used to make a bunch of mini movies with my psp
>years later once I'm no longer friends with anyone included in those movies I go to check them out also had a bunch of videos of an absolute qt
>start up my psp
>battery is fucked
>doesn't charge past 50%
>runs out of battery after doing literally nothing in about 30 minutes
>all data is lost or corrupt
I had years worth of entertainment on that fucking memory card and possibly the most funny video me and my friends made of my self and now I'll never witness it again.

My psp needs a new screen but I can't open it because screws are stripped. fuck my life. I can't find replacement parts and imports are closed. Shit sucks.

Flash media needs to be powered every 3-6 months or bits will start zeroing out. This happens to SSDs too.

But i did, i dug out my old 3000 to repair it, i haven't touched this thing in nearly 8 years so it was still running CFW from 2011. The replacement parts, memory stick adapter, power brick and a case cost me $40, but this thing was in such bad shape i feel like i wasted money on it.
>glossy paint fell off
>d-pad, face and shoulder buttons didn't work
>some of the screws were missing, one was stripped
>battery cover was broken
>screen had 3 dead pixels, thankfully all on the bottom left
I had to use a tiny screwdriver and hotglue to get one of the screws out, and i STILL broke it, so now the PSP doesn't fully close anymore (fixed it with electrical tape and the acrylic case, but i really should have bought a new shell for it), the L button doesn't "click" anymore either, but at least it works. I threw a 64gb sd card on it, installed infinity 2.0 with LME and gave it to my father, he's unable to comprehend 3D games so all he's been playing on it is metal slug anthology, patapon 2 and street fighter alpha 3 max.

What are some cool things I can do with a PSP? I feel like all the homebrew and theme sites for it are dead link graveyards.

I have, it's pretty nice and easy to do. But I mainly just used it to play a few PSP games, as I prefer to emulate on my computer. If I am remembering correctly, some SNES games have a bit of slowdown on PSP anyways.

Why do you still have a psp? It's not like it has anything you can't get from emulators for your phone or computer.

Hacked it, found some hidden gems in the PSP library. The PSP has some serious wonk with the current CFW scene, though.
<battery life is shit (2 hours max) even with the highest quality 3rd party PSP-1000 battery in PSP 2000
<no standard for replaceable batteries, nearly all nobrand chinaware
<better off getting a usb adapter for a battery bank than deal with PSP battery
<everyone recommends 6.60 cfw for best compatibility with homebrew tools
<due to above, official PS1 games from PSN aren't compatible unless you take the jump to 6.61, which means reapplying 6.60 from scratch when you hit a wall
<unofficial PS1 games work as you expect due to repackaging tool, except when they softlock when they shouldn't (see: MML2, MML1 just has corrupted graphics)
<all emulators past Genesis hardware need an overclocked 333mhz CPU, which drains battery
<still no guarantee on stable performance, automatic frameskip is almost a requirement that needs to be configured for every emulator
<scene basically abandoned for Vita, which has its own dedicated interface for PSP programs, official and not
The best part?
<android devices nowadays can run circles around PSP emulation
<even chinese handhelds can run up to PS1 emulation with little frameskip, and have stable & replaceable batteries (up to 8 hours) between the price of a used PSP and a used Vita
I tried to love it, but except for Phantasy Star Portable 2, nearly every other option is better.
