This is old news, but I feel the need to share with everyone my absolute burning disdain for NISA. I've quickly fallen in love with these games and NISA has ruined them. The current official series name is No Heroes Allowed. But NISA has fucked it up so much, it essentially has no proper English franchise name.

I haven't finished the second game because it's hard and NISA was really fucking pissing me off. There's a fucking Electric Boogaloo reference in the training missions of the second game. Greanted, there's also a clear Hunter x Hunter reference that was likely in the original game and unchanged, and various heroes named "shota", so not all the dialogue is scrubbed of anything Japanese. The core games have a unique dungeon management system that I've heard compared to Dungeon Keeper which I have not played. But the unique hook is that the management of all your troops is fairly indirect. You can dig, and you can kill off troops. That's it. How you dig the layout of your dungeon will help you manage the dungeon's ecosystem, raise strong monsters, manipulate the monsters' paths, and manipulate the heroes' paths. It's really really great. I fucking love it.

The EN ads for the third game are fucking horrible. The JP trailer just shows the gameplay off and uses the game's music.

The VR game being shown at E3 2017 is the best western advertising this series has ever gotten and what tipped me off to the existence of the series. And it wasn't shitty like the No Heroes Allowed trailer. While I despise Musume's NISA "translates" her name as Badmella English voice acting, most normalfags probably don't, and Maou's English voice acting is actually good. Musume is fucking adorable and fucking sold this game, in addition to it being a fairly original VR game based on a tabletop enviroment that doesn't give you motion sickness.

I didn't finish the first game before moving on to the second, because it's hard. I'm still unable to beat the last stage "Bonus 2: What I done to deserve this!?" and I can't beat the story on normal. I like how Maou has different advice for you for each and every stage and round you lose. In the second game that has the story split up into missions with smaller numbers of rounds, as opposed to the first story mode which was just two eight round missions, he has unique dialogue for each and every round you may lose at in each mission. I'd savestate and intentionally lose the easier ones to read it all were it not for NISA likely tainting much of it.
I don't have a Vita, and Vita emulation is a ways off, but does anyone have the fourth game preserved?

Just tested everything in the mega, all three games work. What the heck are you doing? You have an archive, no nisa stupid.rar, that contains folders for the first two games, each game in their folder. Then, in the folder for the second game, you have another no nisa stupid.rar that contains all three games. That's two copies each of the first two games adding nearly another 200MB to the archive size. I hope you didn't do this for the torrent too.

You manage the ecosystem more than the troops. The humor might've been appealing, but there's no telling how much NISA shoved their cock into it. By one time do you mean one of the training levels, one of the challenge levels, one attempt at the campaign, or some larger amount of playtime? Try the third game. It's the most feature complete, has Musume, and has an independant water ecosystem you can create.

Literally every digital image is consistent with a grid. This is god-awful pixel art partly because the different-sized "pixel" blocks clash (aka mixels). It's not even like Pokemon RBY where the back sprites were scaled up by 2 (but those look ugly in general); this is a single character having differing levels of detail.

I hadn't gotten to the third game yet. Electric Boogaloo in the second really turned me off.

Translation is probably better than the first two games, but they still kept NISA's name for Maou/Badman despite changing the title, which then resulted in Musume being named Badmella. There's a fair possibility they continued on with reusing a ton of NISA's poor translations of key terms like some monster names and whatnot, as well any references to specific things in the previous games. This also means NISA isn't actually to blame for that godawful trailer that No Heroes Allowed got. Worst case scenario, whoever at NISA translated the first two games left NISA to work for Sony and then was tasked with translating the next three when they came out because they worked with the series before.
Definitely going to get back to finishing up most of the second game and start on the third now that I know the series isn't entirely tainted by NISA. This could also make fan translations easier. If the third and fourth game seem fairly accurate, for those games it may only be necessary to change a few names and key terms that were holdovers from the NISA translations. Not holding out hope for this applying to VR game, since spoken dialogue means the translation probably changed things much more radically than would be necessary for an accurate subtitled version.

Begging is all well and good but it's not a simple task. It's likely easier though for a localization because the technical script handling is likely in place. Not so if it's expecting Japanese. Marginally easier though, the script/translation part is by far the lengthiest and most involved part.
Also you need to play Dungeon Keeper. Both of them. First is best but the second turned out surprisingly well since it was after the EA buyout.

It was pointed out that even if NISA weren't directly involved that the translation was likely compromised to fit in with the previous two. NISA don't even have to be formally named for it to matter, as happened with Neptunia Re;birth 2 and 3 which were handled by their "translator" and good lord does it show. It gets even worse with the games actually bearing their mark of death.
Topically though, a few over on /nep/ took it on themselves to fix the broken translation for both, and those are text-heavy being JRPGs, so maybe that could happen for these if there's enough interest? It would at least need someone capable of PSP ROM hacking since I don't think there's any tools for the series, and obviously a translator with a script they can work off of.

I've really been looking at this game on PSVR, but the valley girl accent they gave the loli is really off-putting.
