Florida Man kills hundreds because chicken told him to

Will we ever get to see Hotline Miami 3? The world needs more ultraviolent games with dat 80s vaporwave aesthetic.

Dennaton have already said Hotline Miami 2 was going to be the final game, many times. It even hints so on the steam page.

>Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game.

>This is the finale, this is the unquestionable end.

Also have anons here ever made any levels? I think one anon was making one based on Die Hard for the NES back in 2015.

The devs aren't interested in making Hotline Miami 3.

They put out the level editor and said, "You can make your own Hotline Miami 3 if you want. We're looking forward to that."

Another guy was making Midnight Animal which was going to basically be Hotline Miami 3, and Dennaton were cool with it, but then the MA dev's gf broke up with him and he had a fucking meltdown and transformed Midnight Animal from Hotline Miami 3 into some lame ass emotional crap that could probably be compared to some bad RPGs if I played pussy shit.

Fast/Instant TTK would be essential for a HM-style game, so i could only imagine it being a multiplayer shooter like Counter-Strike but with less bullet spread, a bit faster-paced and with characters retaining their Hotline Miami skills. A real shame since Hotline Miami is such a simple but fun formula, and 2 kind of dropped the ball when it came to level design and direction. And no, I'm not talking about the windows.

I really should check out the level editor some time. I already had my fill of the games by the time it came out and never really had the interest. I'm sure someone ported all the levels from the first game by now, and that's basically all I could want. Well, that and a properly scaled UNATCO.

Its like they forgot how to make fucking games once they put out the terrible bowling ally and convention bonus levels in the first game which were massive, open, and filled with gun enemies. 50 Blessings and presumably the Us/Russian govs have numerous nuclear blast-proof bunkers. Of of these you even get to see when playing as Evan in the bonus episode Abyss. Some of them may have survived the fallout if they knew it was coming, but likely not many. Back when I played HM2, I noticed that Biker is one of the only characters not seen getting killed in a flash of light. Even in the pre-game introduction on a second playthrough where Richard (dressed as Jacket) speaks to all of the protagonists about the events that are about to happen, Biker is absent. When you talk to him as Evan in the Bar of Broken Heroes, he mentions living out in the desert (although whether the bar and that interaction really happened are unknown). This could have all served as a set up for some post-nuclear wasteland where Biker survives, or is just a character in, but it would have been extremely contrived and out of time with the game itself, unless treated like a Blood Dragon "what if" kind of story. You could even fully realize the alien plants as part of the plot too for the hell of it.

Biker isn't killed in the nukes because he's already dead. You meet him in the Bar which is where everybody who died up to that point in the story are all hanging out in. The "desert" is what he perceives the afterlife to be like.

>Even in the pre-game introduction on a second playthrough where Richard (dressed as Jacket) speaks to all of the protagonists about the events that are about to happen, Biker is absent

Because he isn't a playable character and his appearance in the game is entirely optional. The cutscene is meant more for the actual player than the characters anyway.

Reminder there will never be another HLM game, the devs have stated this repeatedly since 2015.

I mean hell, this is the actual description for the game from its store page.

Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is the brutal conclusion to the Hotline Miami saga, set against a backdrop of escalating violence and retribution over spilled blood in the original game. Follow the paths of several distinct factions – each with their own questionable methods and uncertain motivations – as unforeseen consequences intersect and reality once again slips back into a brilliant haze of neon and bloodshed. Blistering combat against punishing opposition will require intense focus as new variables, weapons, and methods of execution are introduced throughout the struggle. Let the striking colors of an unmistakable visual style wash over as you meticulously cut down those that would stand between you and the ultimate meaning behind the massacre. This is the finale, this is the unquestionable end.

Didn't Dennaton basically disband? Their website isn't active anymore.

You forgot to mention that he got so butthurt about the criticism that he renamed it to "The Exegesis of John the Martyr", and couldn't even finish the first chapter before dropping it altogether.

Persona din do nuffin.

It's like Sonic, or Earthbound. They're decent games, but the fanbase is cancer.

You guys try Katana Zero?

Visually similar, but set more towards a early 90's aesthetic.

>sidescroller

>weird story

>bullet time that is completely optional since it's a crutch

>decent soundtrack, though not as good as either HM

>secret endings

>a handfull of ending altering choices

to be fair you're locked to melee while enemies have guns, but you can deflect and reflect bullets.

The terrible levels, fucking glass houses, The story is an over the top retread of the first one with vietnam of all things included for some reason, just why?

Ive loved the first one, I dont think ive ever been more disappointed in a sequel in my life.

I know about the swords, they're all incredibly lame.

>Rainbow sword for randomizing the blood color of everything

>Flame sword that supposedly improves your range but I can never tell

>Dagger which attacks rapidly but has shit range

>Claymore that lets you break through the pompadour guy's defense, but does not let you reflect bullets because they disintegrate instead

>energy sword that lets you fire a projectile once charged, useless outside of the secret boss if I'm being honest. Also the projectile disintegrates bullets too.

Outrun is 80s retro-future with sports cars & bikes, geometric cgi/wireframe, and lots of Miami influence.

Vaporwave is 90s computer graphics mixed with marble busts, pastel gradients, japanese text, surrealism, and advertisements.

Not that either of these hare hard fast rules, and there's also a lot of overlap, but Hotline Miami is definitely no where close to being anything resembling vaporwave.

>>16756839

I wouldn't literally call it outrun, but it could fit into a piece of outrun aesthetic.
