Plasmamen were such a retarded idea in the first place. A fiery skeleton born out of plasma fires is a cool idea but the way it's implemented makes it almost impossible that they happen as a consequence of a catastrophe. You practically have to do it on purpose to become one.

They should instead work as self-combustion engines, with their Nutrition stat being filled by high temperatures, their bodies hot enough to ignite plasma in the air (but not oxygen).

A Plasmamen should enter Toxins in it's default state and call it a buffet, their suits should work to contain the combustion that happens as their bodies burn the plasma that surrounds them and absorbs the heat. And if they can't bask in fire or heat for long enough, they should get the same problems that hunger causes the other races, as they cool down and slowly die.

Suddenly instead of a rare, special snowflake that only shows up if you start with one or work towards it, you get a freakish mutation out of uncontrolled fires that can happen to anyone caught in one, while also not being a goddamn headache to everyone else in how to deal with you, not being horribly retarded to handle yourself either but still being quite thematic and handy in specific situations.

The issues were actually fixed on 8ch server you just were never told how to do it because you'd do it every round. TG has more problems than just the shitty admins and terrible code, they've got an actual SJW tranny infestation on their hands and won't do shit about it.

Also your shit about teleportation, there ARE random numbers given to the algorithm, the fact is that giving it more would completely nerf teleportation into uselessness to the point nobody would use it. It needed a full rewrite with something that din't rely on the mapgrid so you couldn't just "memorize" locations for an automatic calculator and had to do actual math to use it but Trannies are lazy fucks and just decided to delete it entirely instead. 8ch server did bring teleportation back though, and they also added the "replacement" that trannies tried to implement as well.

I'm more upset that they changed Mob behaviour to always murderkill everything on sight regardless if it appears to be living or not, so you can't do sneeki breeki operations, while also disabling Away Missions because they couldn't just despawn whatever item could be used to wipe out the entire rest of the station.

Host wasn't bragging when he said the server was being hosted on linux, he said the server HAD to be ran on linux because he previously had it on windows and it ran like complete shit. TG optimized it for that which is about the only good thing they've done.

When I played I wasn't even sure if I was going to like the game so I just did whatever I could to get started to see what the hype was about. Once I was playing regularly I just pressed the same buttons to get back in the game except maybe switch jobs if I wanted to try something new.

What is the difference between a welderbomb and a maxcap? I mean, the welderbomb can sometimes crit 1-2 people, maybe break a few tiles, but given a few minutes is easily recoverable. Technically a maxcap isn't very disruptive - they need a few minutes of preparation - and any damage they do can be recovered from, it's just a hassle. Why not tweak them a bit?

Typically all servers aside from ours realistically restrict them. I like maxcaps, I do punish for it if its a non-antagonist, but maxcaps are unironically fun. Plus, the MoMMi-fag does a fantastic job making bombs that completely kill all of the sub-systems making the server borderline unplayable.

A welderbomb destroys 1-2 tiles and maybe maims someone. It does take a few minutes to fix but it's a pain to fix the air, wiring and piping for a sole engineer after dealing with the floor, walls, windows, tables or airlocks.

A maxcap obliterates an entire department and half of another one, while deleting irreplaceable equipment depending on location and usually ends up killing/gibbing half the skeleton crew in the process if done in medbay or central hallway. Oh and it lags the server too but that's a minor issue.

It takes minutes to "fix" the breach with a Mech/MoMMI/EngCyborg/RCD and likely 2-3 hours for atmos to normalize and for the area to be fully repaired, give or take another hour for the piping, lighting and disposals, back to how it was with the effort of the rest of the surviving crew– if they even give a fuck about doing that and don't just instantly call the shuttle like any other sane person would do.

It is legitimately feasible to call shuttle, wait and do nothing until it comes, go home, restart the round, and then convince everyone to do the exact same things they did the round before up until the maxcap, all in a time shorter than it would take to actually repair the damage. It is worth repairing maxcaps only when they are a natural function of the round, i.e. there is an ongoing onslaught of traitors and everyone knows they're in for the long haul. If it was some random shitter and the station is most likely devoid of antagonists because they all just got blown up, there's no point. This goes double for ghost crews where you have 1 engi and 1 mechanic and that's it.

Maxcaps are not hard to make and they do not take a long time to make if you aren't a smooth-brained retard. SS13 has always been skewed towards destruction, with it being easier than construction in part due to archaic systems no one cares to change as much as because it's normally restricted to people whose exact job is to cause destruction.

I'll point to Goonstation, Baystation and Vorestation and tell you that there's your solution. Yes, those are terrible servers with their own brand of bullshit and problems, but they have one thing in common: they know very well who they want to keep in and who they want to keep out.

All their players share the same mindset, likes and dislikes, want roughly the same thing from the game and understand each other fairly well. Basically, they are the opposite of "diversity" and that's how they have lasted longer than many other servers that tried to pander to as many players as possible. Something that, in retrospective, shouldn't really surprise anyone when it fails.

A more moderate example would even be TG several years ago when they finally split into 2 servers, Basil and (I can't recall the name of the other). After just a few days, it was soft-established that one of the servers was for the weirdos that actually liked long rounds and roleplaying while the other was far faster and more action packed and both servers had a lot of happy players.

The moment it all went downhill was when players from the more action-centric server started popping on the roleplay server while they waited for their own to reset, usually after their deaths.

Or in other words, once two incompatible playerbases started mingling after they had a taste of a single-minded server, they could not stand each other anymore.

TL;DR:

A community needs cohesion. A purpose or common goal or at very least a shared mindset. Anyone that doesn't have it, should not be welcomed, not because he is wrong or bad but because he will not fit in and will only bring strife to everyone else. Nah, I realized I was making my math with a non-casual codebase. It was simply too baffling to believe, I assumed it was impossible.

I took some minutes, downloaded their actual codebase and, yeah. The buffed armor + the chemistry changes (seriously, some of these chems are bullshit of the highest order) do allow someone to survive all that.

I then had a civil discussion with him and to my surprise, the admin wasn't acting like his name would indicate. Not an hint of autism detected, quite the chill dude. Sucks that I only have free time on the weekends, but it's still good to know there's at least one good server waiting for me to autism it up in a Friday Night.

I'm not even sure why or how hippie changed, but these sort of things happened regularly, without people forcing them. The greyshittery eventually became just regular shittery and people trying to replicate "EPIC MEME PRANKS" they saw their favourite streamer/youtuber perform, and I dunno. I think I played there 4-5 times in the last year, and everytime, after 6 rounds or so, I'd notice that nothing particulary interesting or funny happening. Lots of validhunting, lots of "I'mma break into medbay for a first aid kit and heal this 30 brute damage, even though there's 7 doctors playing and they'd love to roleplay their job". Come to think of it, that might be most fun I had, chloraling people who jumped on medbay's front desk or tried to break in without saying a single word.

I know you want the first aid kit to go beat up shitcurity and recover from the brutal beating you're gonna take, but if you'd just ask, I could line you up with some actual potent healing chems. All I ask in return is a bit of roleplay, just a "Hey, what's up doc? Where can a fella procure some… "drugs" if you know what I mean?". It's lame, but it's enough for me to smile and have fun.

If the CEV code has cloners, strange reagent, or revival surgery then retrieving the bodies is harder than actually the medical part. Those things make medical so braindead easy I've seen doctors on /tg/ opt for killing the patient and cloning them, since they didn't know how to do chem or surgery.
