BRD is gutted so that DNC can be the buff job. It doesn't even hold up in PVP now due to the changes in adidtional actions and it's job action. DNC will just walk all over you while the Tank jobs will close and out DPS you. Hell You can't even handle solo healers and they will hunt you down and fuck your shit up in no time flat. The only way you can play BRD in PVP is if some heal decides to sit on you and the enemy is too retarded to attack the heal, leaving you free to plink away until something drops, usually another BRD because they are weak as fuck and easy targets.

RDM is so gutted my the changes role abilities, the change to MP pool, and the change to MP regeneration that it is pointless to bring it anywhere outside of Eureka, i.e. dead content. It can no longer rez effectively as each rez eats 24% of your MP pool and the balance on MP and spell costs is so fucked that if you are popping lucid the moment if comes of CD while working your normal attack rotations the expenditure slightly outstrips the recovery over time leaving you at a deficit over any expended period of time without rest. This is fine in a dungeon when every instance of combat is drip fed with a chance to recover while moving. However in the shit that actually matters, EX trials and Savage Raids, this means each rez has the very distinct possibility of leaving you OoM two to three minutes down the line. You can no longer manatrans to other players so you end up with a crippled class with no utility who still sucks as dealing damage. Embolden was never good as a buff for the party because it's range is so shit that the chances of you being within 15 yalms of a physical DPS when you are at that point of your vernuke combo is almost non-existent, especially now that BRD is a dead job, MCH remains a dead job, and DNC usually play retardedly close to the tanks.

DRG is very fun though, also BLM. They ended up being minor annoyances removed and more of the same but better.

After my third melee on an 80+/100 I hold it until my global cooldown is up so I can catch the Vernuke+corch and the build up to Manafication. Depending on how tight my timing it I can catch the second Vernuke in the cycle on the last 2% of embolden stacking with Manafication. Working with Ronkan gear I haven't had much luck so I am hoping with some of the future gear set I can get spell speed high enough to squeeze both vernukes and scorches into a single window without sacrificing too much DPS through Crit Det or DH loss. Kinda hoping someone like Mooglepost will parse every set and BiS again like they did though most of SB.

I've been stacking Manafication with Embolden to great effect, but I too feel the need for a touch more speed since the timing window for fitting Scorch into those 10 seconds is really tight. It's usually on the last second or less before Manafication falls off.

at 435 I was able to get about 10k DPS on lvl 80 target dummies, but my execution in actual fights is too sloppy for that.

Regardless, because of the nature of RDM and the current state it is in I'm focusing on getting good with SAM and maybe BLM when I finally max it.

I agree with making Reprise oGCD, but I've still found it useful for stuff like E1 during the aoe hell phases. Though I have to think that with a bit of SpS and knowing the fight will let you get away with dualcast sliding like usual.

Both leviathan fights have a huge focus on pushing the character. One's a fairly massive remix of the fight, but it's a remix. Titan has many of the same mechanics but once again remixed. That's why they're a refight. That would've been true if the buffs weren't so heavy, and it wasn't spread to every selfish DPS class. As it stands, the standings are skewed to the point where it might not even be worth bringing a ranged DPS at all and forgo the 1% main stat party boost, and instead bring another chad DPS spamming Fire IV.

Trick Attack is 10% damage up with 16.6% uptime, but why bring that when you can have DPS that all do like 8% more base damage with 100% uptime? Hopefully they address some things with the upcoming balance patch but I'm not crazy optimistic, expecting QoL changes and minor potency nerfs.

5.0 DRG is pretty great. They cleaned it up and got rid of a skill that made it awkward to play and they beefed up it's AoE game significantly. It's all about getting into the rhythm of your rotation and positioning before transitioning into burst. There is a real distinct pattern to it that is satisfyingly autistic without being so rigid that it is boring. It's not completely braindead like MCH as you will have to be aware of where your other eye is and which half of your rotation you are on. When it all comes together you hit fairly hard and you bring a lot of utility to the table. So far it is my favorite job this expac.

Openers generally involving using a potion to boost your main stat during the highest point of your dps when everything is lined up with raid buffs. So as a SMN you'd be using Devotion that time to boost everyone's damage, a potion to boost your own, and any other applicable raid buffs (Technical Finish, TA, Battle Litany etc.) would also be active around that time. I have no idea what SMN openers are but practicing one would be a good idea if you plan on raiding seriously.

Overall though, I'd say get used to your main rotation more than anything else, since while an opener is important, your main rotation is what you'll be doing while you deal with most mechanics since the early part of the fight is pretty mechanic-free.

SAM getting Hagakure back seems to be a monkey's paw situation, since instead of giving 20/40/60 Kenki it's now giving 5/10/15 instead. Clearly the only reason it's being brought back is so SAMs will have a means of dumping Sen between pulls/during downtime.

You're right in that it's mostly a phase change/between-battle Sen dump so you don't end up overwriting or doing an unbuffed Midare, but it also will have some use for moments when you're a hair short on Kenki and need to throw out a Senei or Guren. Dumping a Sen for an extra 5 Kenki would be worth it in that case. It's not a huge difference, and it's not the same level of choice it was before, but that's ok because it's an option now. It's QoL for SAM on phase changes to smooth out the rotation, and a bit of extra Kenki if needed elsewhere, assuming the cost isn't too steep I doubt there would ever be a legit use for eating more than 1 Sen in combat.

My FC actually plays a game when the server encounters issues, we call it "Hot or Cold" We all place bets on "Hot" or "Cold" and then when the announcement comes, winners get bragging rights. "Hot" means "Someone spilled coffee on the servers" and "Cold" means "Blizzard DDoSed us."

So Just ran Dohn Mheg as PLD. Got to the castle section and decided to pull from the first horse mob to the first king bomb. Drag everything with me to the wall, pop rampart, then sentinel, then sentinel gets close to wearing off and my DPS is dropping fast. There's a command to alter the size of Demi-Bahamut, but I don't know if only applies to your version or if it applies globally to any Summoner's. The command is /bahamutsize small. I would say to get them all to 15, then concentrate on Weaver/Carpenter and Botanist. Blacksmith and Miner after that, followed by Goldsmith or Leatherworker.

I also recommend getting an apartment before shooting for a house, so you'll have some minor access to gardening. You can gather specific low level seeds to grow elemental shards, which usually sell for a decent amount in bulk.
