Golden Sun 3 deserves a mention. It wasn't really a twist, it was that everything past the first hour or two of the game was a complete sidequest and the ending is basically the game going "oh shit, we forgot about our setup. here's a cliffhanger that should have been the second act of the game, bye!".

Zero and the virus are because of Wily. Sigma serves no one but himself through the entire series. He cannot be Wily’s puppet.

The fuck? This couldn’t be farther from the truth. If anything he’s a puppet for Mephiles, if you ignore the fact they’re supposed to be the same life-form. I’m starting to question how well you recall these games OP and some of these aren’t endings anyway
A really bad twist ending would have to be Asscreed 3’s ending, where Desmond releases the evil goddess, Minerva I think, so she can enslave the world eventually, but by releasing her he’s somehow killed by the impact. The ending of the MC’s story is left on a cliff hanger with no resolution or follow-up five fucking games later.

Fire Emblem Awakening: Lucina is not actually time travelling, and is simply in a different parallel world's present- Grima is Naga's offspring, and Ylisse is directly under the control of her cult who assassinated Prince Marth and replaced him with the OC donut from mystery of the emblem- in addition to suppressing information of the Origins of Valentia. Naga is a disembodied evil spirit, who has possessed and hollowed out her own daughter as a living vessel and maintains her eternity by spreading what is known as draconic degeneration to others of her kind- cannibalising them through her artefacts she gives to unwitting mortals. Medeus never perished in Shadow dragon- the one killed is actually the most intelligent remaining earth dragon given his dragonstone- whereas the true Shadow Dragon escaped and began gathering evidence on Naga's long-term deceptions that had started since fleeing the world of Binding.

I thought the whole twist ending with nu-Pray was the "we're already fucked so we're going to make the best of it and make friends with the aliens" part. Considering you spend a few of the missions trying to keep anyone from getting off the planet and have the aliens reach earth.
Not great, but I thought it was an interesting twist. Better than most. The whole "you're actually an alien" i saw coming within the first couple of 'un-explainable cutscenes, but yeah.

Cackletta was the villain, but at the last minute Bowser steps up and tries to fuck with you with her corpse. The game is easy as fuck though, so even as a last boss out of nowhere the fight is piss easy
And Wily just made the Sigma virus to fuck with Light, he never controlled properly. And his appearance in X5 was as a helper, not as a leader. (And then X6-8 happened and that storyline went down through Inafune's toilet)

That's not what happened at all, though. Halfway through the game, you beat Cackletta, then her spirit possesses Bowser's unconscious body and is the villain for the rest of the game. After you beat Bowletta, there's a short escape sequence before the castle explodes, and then that's the end of the game. There's no surprise boss fight with Bowser.

It didn't really. The world of 2300 was teetering on the brink of extinction. Not just for humans but for all life with only Lavos remaining and preparing to send his spawn out into the universe to repeat the cycle. Crono and the gang did their absolute best to fix things but but Lavos' damage to the planet and even the timestream was just far too extensive for it to be accomplished with only one single heroic journey. It took another swing at the problem by Balthazar and Schala (once the new time line was created) to straighten things out. Even then it's still not completely unfucked it's just better than what it was.

If you're reading someone's thoughts you'd think he would've at least had a little suspicious line when dealing with the guy who claimed to be the killer and other times. It's not that he's just vague, it's that even after a replay it feels like Scott is intentionally omitting his thoughts about being the killer to the player, which makes it feel really stupid when the reveal happens.

Yakuza 4.
To put it in even more astoundingly unbelievable terms, an untrained brute with next to no knowledge of firearms went into a restaurant filled with people from an enemy clan and shot them all, killing them. He was imprisoned for mass murder.
Except no, wait, the gun he was given had rubber bullets, and being shot with these rubber bullets (somehow) knocked out everyone who was hit and he assumed, despite the lack of blood and gray matter, that he had actually killed them all. A person inside the room, hit with one of these rubber bullets that immediately knocked out all of his clan members, then executed each person inside with a single expertly placed headshot, making it look as though the untrained brute was instead an ace sniper capable of instantly headshotting a dozen and a half enemies before they were able to kill him instead. This point is never noticed or noted by police.
Except no, wait, the police did in fact notice this. After the untrained brute ace sniper mass murderer pacifist was taken in, a double agent yakuza posing as an undercover cop noticed this discrepancy because he was in on the plot the entire time and simply left this out of the investigation notes, apparently somehow being the only investigator assigned to a mass murder/gang war crime scene.
Except no, wait, he had a partner, who noticed the report was faked, who the undercover yakuza cop then murdered to cement the coverup story that a mass murderer pacifist who only knows how to use his fists expertly headshotted 18 members of an enemy clan but wait no it was 17 members but no it was actually 16 because the chairman survived too and the entire thing was a plot to become second in command of a Yakuza family that was simultaneously pulled off by 3 different Yakuza families with semi-police support.
Or maybe I missed something.

The person who played must've fucked up. There are actual druids. He got the mediocre ending. In the proper ending, after they time traveled and confront the druids in the barrow temple thing, the main character manages to best the main druid but only has one thing demanded of him: that no harm come to himself or the woman with him. The main evil druid laughs heartedly at this foolishness, but agrees. Main character and woman go back to the present, they get to Stone Henge, and the main character stabs the woman/his girlfriend with a broken pair of scissors (she won't die if it's a broken pair of scissors). Then the main character shouts out that the druid's ancestor promised no harm would come to them, and clearly that pact has been broken since you just harmed your girlfriend. This literal interpretation of the pact being broken causes the last druids to die.

it was never mentioned, but that would kinda make sense. Megaman 9 (or 10, idk which one had those robo virus) kinda hints the Maverick incidents. Also in megaman 8, it was HEAVILY hinted that the "evil energy" is the thing that is used for zero. X4 and 8 also released at the same time, which means it was on purpose.. Otherwise adding some alien stuff for no reason for a classic megaman plot would be kinda retarded.
There were some theories that Wily has never actually died. It was Sergeant or whatever in X2, Sigma was explaining someone on X6, and some mad lads even said Dr Weil is actually Wily. First 2 makes kinda sense. And it would be pretty poetic that Dr. Wily is the reason why this neverending cycle of robo genocide and conflict happens. Wily is just too pissed for Dr. Light it seems.

This isn't accurate at all. A lot of weeaboos go on about Japan's honorobu culture and how they solve 99% of crimes, but thats ignoring the fact that nipponese police simply will not investigate difficult cases because it makes them look bad if they can't 100% close the case. Allegedly, Mystery of the Druids was a product of spite. The German developers had a deal with a UK publisher to make a point-n-click adventure game and they do hated the concept they intentionally made the puzzles obtuse, the story retarded, and the characters and setting completely unlikable and insane. In reality, it was the developers first of many adventure games, their publishers were also German, and the game sold very well in Germany despite being panned in reviews. It's almost certainly 100% parodic as it was well after the Golden Age of Adventure Games and the moon logic of those games were well known. Also, its revealed that the detective didn't kill his girlfriend because he had a sprig of magic mistletoe. Ruins the gag of the game where he is just a whiny, incompetent douchebag psychopath just like everyone else in Scotland Yard who has no care of killing innocents for minor convienences.

Don't remember the name, but there was this one shitty game i played where the twist was that you were a pregnant woman, and it wasn't obvious until the second playthrough where you could immediately look down and notice that you had tits and a bulging stomach, and the only reason you never looked at your feet was because the game was a fucking walking simulator with no puzzles or anything, so there was absolutely no reason to ever do that. Why is it a bad twist ending you ask? Because the story pointed towards you being a dead man whose soul got stuck in his parent's house, but it turns out it's just some girl revisiting the house she was raised in because she believes it'll make her a better mother or something equally stupid.

>You remember Persona 4, right kiddos?
Yes indeed, as does everyone else, which made it quite surprising - and not in a good way - that they literally just made Morgana Teddie 2.0.
For the first half of the game, my working theory was that the obviously evil pancake detective was actually the shadow from Morgana's dreams who had stolen Morgana's real body (and that, when he was exposed midway through the game, Morgana would get his body back but remain a party member). Wrong, but still better than what we got.
But the big letdown was near the finale where you come face to face with Igor. You then go and free all your party members from their cells… except Morgana. And then you go back to Igor and Lavenza's all, "Oh, you want to know where your friend Morgana is? Wellll… the truth is … Morgana is … he's just over there in that corner."
It really felt as though the game was building up to the big reveal that Morgana had been the real Igor the whole time, which would have made more sense and been a much better twist… and would also have solved Igor's voice problem. I really wonder if the game went through a rewrite midway through, because as it is a lot of the story beats seem… odd.

The game is shit, but you weren't a clone, you're a mimick that was tricked into thinking you're that guys brother/sister, in the hopes you'll help them reconcile the war between your race and theirs. There's also ample evidence that they're tricking you to make it seem as if everything was that dude in the end credits and the person you thought you weres fault, when it's likely the humans started shit first, and ended up getting stomped on earth by the mimics for swinging first. "You're" not there, iirc the person you think you are died already or is on earth missing, and they need you to fix everything, the brainwashed mimic.

The "dream world is real" approach makes Link's Awakening sadder in a way. Marin was real, but now you'll probably never see her again. Link having to leave a companion at the end of the game is a common thing, so if you interpret it that way it's one of the first times it's happened.

I actually liked the premise: Alex's long dead, shit is fucked, and they train a mimic to feel empathy (in a not so subtle way, they keep dropping hints to "mirror neuron's" every 15 minutes).
What they SHOULD have done is make that the mid-point of the game. Heck, it would work if it was near the end too.
You wake up from the VR sim, you can still kill the fat fuck or not, and then go back on the station. Everything is as you left it (because you were technically relieving Alex's memories) or possibly a bit more fucked (because some time passed). Then you fuck around for a couple more hours before ending the game, fully knowing you're a Mimic with alien powers.
Heck, you know what would have been absolutely great? If they did a reverse-Xen.
In Half life, you've got that one moment where your powering up the Gate, and then jump through.
So you wake from the Simulation, go back on the station, and your "gate" is an escape shuttle.
The reverse-Xen? The goddamn Earth: twisted and fucked by the Mimic forces. Then you go into Transtars HQ, where a giant fetus screams at you giant Phantom boss fight takes place, and the game ends shortly afterwards.
Goddamn, they wouldn't even need a lot more assets than this.

But by the end you simply scream at your friends to fucking kill everyone when you tell them to do something and your melee attacks become a lot more brutal and vicious. Also I have a weakness for mindfuck scenes, I just like them.

The big problem with the devs' "you could have turned off the game" thing is that the player is too disconnected from Walker for it to feel like an ending. The player wants to know what the fuck happens to this crazy bastard and see all the content, so they keep playing. That and the phosphorus scene are the two most disliked bits in the game because it otherwise handles player choice really well for a linear third person shooter.

that game fucking sucked ass in general, as someone who played the original AVP games for pc i was really disappointed. what the fuck were they thinking making a consolefag game? it was casual as shit and really restricted everything you could do. in the OG games predator jumps were purely skill based and you could easily fuck yourself with a tiny mistake. after months of practice you would eventually learn how to maneuver with it and turn into a fucking god, naruto-jumping all over the place and cutting peoples legs off with the disc.
in the 2010 game you just point to a spot and press a button and he jumps there, no skill, no room for failure, and no room for improvement. i hate what casuals and brainlets have fucking done to my favorite games.

Never heard the theory that the subcon world of Mario Bros 2 was the same dream reality as the world of Link's Awakening. I'm sure the devs of Link's Awakening were just making cameo's & references to their previous games, weren't making a shared universe or anything, but it's a theory that makes sense.
One weird thing is that Marin actually does leave the dream reality island of the Wind Fish in Link's Awakening, if you get the best endings. I think in the original she's seen singing with wings flying into the sky, implying she's finally left that reality. In the Link's Awakening DX she becomes a bird and flies into the sky.

"A father and daughter named Marin and Tarin that were introduced in Link's Awakening for GameBoy also appeared in this Zelda game. We're hoping that people who've played the Zelda series from the very beginning will recognize them. If you wonder "is this a reference to then?" we'll be happy." —Toru Osawa
Your assertion that this is fundamentally any different from any number of other secondary characters reappearing across separate games like this is so pedantic that you probably have actual medical autism and not just the fun internet kind. Next you'll tell me Syrup isn't the same character across games because she couldn't possibly by alive in both Link to the Past and Minish Cap, and she's also in Link's Awakening, which isn't even the same world. Well no shit it isn't literally the same person. It still clearly is a reference to the previous game in which a very similar person appeared.

It was supposed to make the twist in 4 sad because Big Boss blamed the wrong person.
Honestly the real twist is everything in MGS is fucking that dumb nigger Sigint's fault.

Would have been fine if they successfully went out of their way to actually show that N was wrong, but his points are practically never addressed. They just set up this other guy as a strawman to knock down and then be like "Hah! It's bad to try to take over the world! That's why you're wrong, N!" Even though he never wanted to do that.

>Fallout 3
The entire game is centered about purifying one basin of water, except that, as shown in fallout new vegas, it is piss easy to create purified water from dirty water using, you know, sand? The technology that your father creates is amazing, and if you side with the enclave, there is an actual reason to infect the water supply, but still, you end up wasting your fucking time, as anybody who isn't retarded could just teach the 2 or 3 major towns the game has how to purify it's own water without wasting a perfectly functional geck that could cleanse the land and actuallymake it livable again. The real plot twist is that everyone in D.C is a low iq retard, except your father, who just has a purifier fetish, even madison li and her men think his plan is retarded. Also, you might doom D.C to being an irradiated shithole where nothing ever grows again as well, but that is mitigated somehow if you choose to help harold spread in the oasis side quest
>Pokemon X/Y
Lysandre was right all along, and by stopping his plans, you doom poke-france to be infested with niggers till the end of time
>Call of duty : Advanced Warfare
The entire second half of the game is centered around a literal lie/false flag that the spec ops nigger whats his face forges so irons' top men will betray him and overthrow the only thing threathening (((world peace))), that being atlas. KVA were russisn isis, meaning they worked for us and israel, as the some sort of boogeyman as the former is in our world, and you're pretty much the villain that destroys actual peace and stability like a fucking nigger. irons did literally nothing wrong, and that's why his reaction to your actions in the last few missions is of genuine disgust and disappointment
>Call of duty zombies
(((Illuminati))) is actually controlled by the ancestors, as shown in the extinction game mode, which means that richtofen was literally taking over the planet in the name of some ancient jews talking to him in his head. Ironic, considering he is a nazi. Apothicons, which you meet in the later games, are the alternate reality "evolved"/ascended/final form ancestors, from the universe where richtofen succeeded in his plans to take over the planet again, or when the other 3 didn't blow up the earth(with the ancestors still in their underground arks). What I'm saying is, the plot twist is that it was the jews all along

But N's points were just retarded given what we know about pokemon, they live to fight and love to be useful to humans, they literally can't complete their life cycles without fighting, and many could never possibly evolve in the wild without human intervention (i.e. some can only evolve when they've made a deep connection to a human, or when exposed to extremely rare minerals/particular locations, or even when their master changes in a trade).
How fallacious N's argument is should be self evident even to a child, given this and that almost everything anyone ever talks about is how happy and fulfilled their pokemon companions are.

Your love interest IS real. Steve and Stephanie are the only living being in Harvester. That's why the game ends with you having to choose what do to; You spent the whole game killing virtual characters in gruesome ways and at the end, you are given the choice to "kill" her (well, you bash her head virtually, but she's being "unplugged" in real-life) or let her go and you both die in real-life.

Well the stupid thing is they have no reason to trust their captors because they are completely helpless. If there were a group of killers so depraved that they would kidnap impressionable teens and then force them through a desensitization simulation in hopes that they also become killers, they would have no reason to allow you to live that fantasy (even though that ending shows it ostensibly happening). They would just say "lol what a casual" and then unplug you anyway. It's in their best interest so they have another "slot" to put another unwitting kid in.

From psychology today:
This series of blogs has been describing pristine inner experience–whatever is directly in your experience at some moment. My colleagues and I have given people beepers to carry into their everyday natural environments; when the beeper randomly beeps, they jot down notes about whatever experience happened to be ongoing (their "pristine" experience) when signaled by the beep. Later we interview them about these experiences.
I've been saying that this procedure reveals five frequently occurring phenomena of everyday inner experience: inner speech, inner seeing, feelings, sensory awareness, and "feature 5." I haven't said what feature 5 is, giving you the opportunity to commit yourself to your speculation. Now I'll describe it: unsymbolized thinking.
Unsymbolized thinking is the experience of an explicit, differentiated thought that does not include the experience of words, images, or any other symbols. For example, if you had been beeped a moment ago, you might have experienced an unsymbolized thought which, if expressed in words, might have been something like I wonder what Feature 5 is. But if this was an unsymbolized thought, there would have been no experienced words–no experience of the word "wonder" or of "Feature 5." There would have been no experienced images–no seeing of a beeper or of anything else. There would have been no experienced symbols of any kind, and yet you would have directly apprehended ("before the footlights of your consciousness") yourself as thinking that exact thought.
Another reader might have said to herself while reading, "I wonder what Feature 5 is?" That experience would have ben very different from yours, involving the experience of words. And another may have innerly seen a list that looks like this
inner speech
inner seeing
feelings
sensory awareness
______
with a blank where the fifth feature will appear. Another may have felt a mild irritation with me for wasting time before I got to the point. Another may have been thinking about the war in Iraq. Another may have had no inner experience at all while reading that paragraph, was simply reading with comprehension.
There are thus lots of experiences that people may have had while reading that paragraph. Here I'm trying to illustrate one: unsymbolized thinking I wonder what Feature 5 is.
To qualify as an unsymbolized thought, the thought must be directly experienced, just as directly experienced as would be an inner speaking or the seeing of an image. That is, you don't merely infer the existence of an unsymbolized thought (I must have been wondering what Feature 5 is). If this is an unsymbolized thought, you directly apprehend the thought as an experience before the footlights of consciousness at the moment it is occurring.
An unsymbolized thought is specific: you're wondering what Feature 5 is. You're not wondering whether there are still other features, not wondering how Hurlburt knows this, not wondering what kinds of things go on in peoples' inner experience, not wondering about how inner experience is measured, not trying to recall what sensory awareness is, and so on. That is, you're wondering about what feature 5 is, not about anything else that might be more or less closely related to that.
An unsymbolized thought is not "hinty" or "general" or merely a part of some other phenomenon. An unsymbolized thought is just as complete and directly apprehendable as an inner speaking or an inner seeing.
Many people (perhaps most), including many (perhaps most) psychologists, believe that unsymbolized thinking is impossible.
Our beeper studies show the full gamut of frequency of experience of unsymbolized thinking. Some people rarely or never have such experiences, others experience unsymbolized thinking at nearly all their waking moments, and yet others sometimes do and sometimes don't experience it.
Most people who experience unsymbolized thinking, including those in the "nearly always" category, don't realize that they do so. In fact, many people who engage in unsymbolized thinking nearly all the time believe that unsymbolized thinking is impossible, until the beeper reveals its existence to them. A method that carefully explores specific moments is necessary to know what really goes on in inner experience.

The problem with Pokemon is that a fundamental plot point of the entire series is that "Pokemon love fighting! It's how they bond!" This is further shown with mechanics like evolution that occur much faster if they are battling.
This is itself a ridiculous notion, especially when you see how they feel real pain and such, but the Pokemon world makes it clear that this is just how things are even though it would not be this way in real life. N in any other universe would be 100% right, but the Pokemon world bends over backwards to justify it's glorified cockfights to a point where you can't really argue against it in-universe anymore.

Then when he couldn't have that, he tried to get Snake commit suicide in the graveyard, which also was scrapped by having Big Boss show up not-dead to give him a surprise CQC hug and to bring Zero in a wheelchair for no reason whatsoever. The loading screen, where he pulls the trigger, was supposed to be an actual ending and not just a funny little joke twist.

Reminds of Bravely Default. Heroes are uknowingly doing something that will destroy the world and are killing lots of their former friends and allies along the way due to misinformation, and not one of these former allies ever stops to ask them why the fuck they think this is a good idea and instead babbles about staying true to your ideals.
At one point one of the hero's own fathers engages them in a fight to the death instead of saying "hey, you realise smashing these crystals with fuck everything, right?".

>It was Sergeant or whatever in X2
Serges.
>Like Isoc, there is a prominent theory that Serges is none other than Dr. Wily.[1] This is because, in the Japanese game script, Serges is the only character to have mentioned Dr. Light (Sagesse: "Being defeated by the robotic memento of Light yet again… Such regret…",[2]). His Japanese profile points out his appearance resembles "a legendary mad scientist who terrorized the world." In his first radio conversation, he distortedly refers to X as Rockman X ("Rock… e..X…"[3]), while in the same game Sigma mentions Zero being one of Wily's numbers ("However, Zero.. why… he was.. the last of… Wi.. num.. bers….",[4]), both of which are unlikely to be common knowledge. There was also the fact that he was capable of rebuilding Zero, whose internal systems are still stated to be a mystery by Signas in X5. Keiji Inafune's reluctance to answer as to whether or not Serges is Wily, whilst at the same time quick to state Dr. Weil is not Wily is also seen as a compelling argument for Serges being Wily.

>because as it is a lot of the story beats seem… odd.
One thing that always bugged me was how they made it very clear that Futaba should not remain in her own metaverse for very long as it could have harmful side effects. Of course, if you enter a plane where your thoughts are reality the feedback loop can have wild results. I assumed that they got lucky with Futaba not really thinking about it and, as is, Morgana's explanation exists to fill a potential plot hole.
However it seemed to me to be foreshadowing for the final confrontation with Shido. I assumed he would resort to entering his own Palace as a last ditch effort to stop you.
Imagine, beating his shadow only for him to pop in and quickly take his Shadow on as a Persona. United in their shared desire to beat the shit out of you, they don't go through the same cognitive dissonance that the cast of P4 went through when meeting their Shadows. As the fight goes on he becomes more and more desperate and he embraces that dangerous feedback loop to basically become god. That would be the true final boss fight.

Jak 3's bad twist was Jak shifting love interest to Ashelin and cucking Torn just because Keira's normal VA was unavailable (Tara Strong probably couldn't do Anna Garduno's cute rasp, but would it have really been so bad to give Keira a full role in the story anyway?)

Chains of Olympus Kratos gets beaten by Charon the Ferryman due to him having some soul healing bullshit on the boat that makes it so you can't beat the boss, Kratos is then thrown from the boat and ends up chained to a wall in Tartarus, only to just break the chains and then comes back with the Gauntlet of Zeus and win buy breaking the healing bullshit.
God of War 1 Kratos dies after getting impaled by a huge ass fucking spike thrown by Ares, his body is totally dead, but his soul that falls into Hades "the place" has it's own body that is exactly the same, and he makes it out because Zeus disguised as the old Grave Digger dug a really really deep hole and dropped a rope for him to climb out. after beating Ares he trys to kill himself because the gods are assholes who didn't keep there promise to rid him of the nightmares of him killing his family, but they say NA were not gonna let you die, your the new God of War.
Ghost of Sparta the final boss is Thanatos the Primordial god of Death which Kratos kill him, and his Daughter Erinys earlier in the story, but his brother Deimos dies during the final battle.
God of War 2 Zeus tricks Kratos into draining all of his God power into the Sword of Olympus and then when Kratos is weakened after the colossus of Rhodes bitch smacks him, Zeus kill Kratos with the sword. Kratos's body this time is dragged into Hades, but the Titans revive him so they can use him to take revenge on the Olympian's. Kratos then Climbs out of Hades again.
God of War 3 Kratos Falls into the River Styx and that drains any power he had from God of War 2, and then at the end he Stabs himself with the Sword of Olympus beacuse that lets out the power of hope he's had inside of him due to GoW3 retconning Pandora's box from GoW1 into turning all the gods evil, and infusing him with hope, that has the world move on from the Greek gods I guess.
Whats funny is that NuGoW in the end is all like Kratos is destined to die cus the wall painting says so. This guy dies or goes to hell in every game.

I should mention Kratos fights the less cool looking redesign of Hades in God of War 3 for no particular reason, aside from the fact he kills every God in that game. but Hades is still peeved with Kratos cus he killed his wife Persephone in Chains of Olympus, regardless of the fact Persephone didn't love Hades and was going to end the world because she was forced to be married to him.
It would be funny if Hades was just annoyed by the fact Kratos never stays dead.

Resident Evil: The obviously evil guy is evil.
Resident Evil Zero: The guy who doesn't look like Marcus turns out to be Marcus and in the end the reveal doesn't matter at all. Could be some random dude and nothing would be different.
Resident Evil Revelations 2: The mysterious, creepy monster chasing after Berry and Natalya turns out to be the villain. Dying Light: The villain is right, but the game completely ignores it.
Uncharted 2: I know it's not a final twist, but still - Yetis are actually humans who turned immortal by the Tree of Life, and disguise themselves as Yetis, which is ridiculous. It's like explaining something supernatural with something else supernatural.
Metal Gear Solid V: The twist is that the game was shipped without adding the final mission and its actual ending. Also, Paz only exists in your imagination, which is a terrible twist, since you see her die several times.
F-Zero GX: Everything that happened was planned by three gods who created earth, which are trapped in the F-Zero champion's belt… okay.
Killzone Shadow Fall: The mentor of the protagonist kills the main villain and the protagonist and ends all conflicts between humans and Helghasts. Then a newly introduced stupid bitch shows up, avenges the protagonist's death, shoots the mentor and starts the conflict all over again.
Mentioning some games with twists which are imo amazing:
Bioshock - The "Would you kindly" thing.
Nier Automata - the truth about the humans.
Uncharted 4 - Nate's brother made everything up about how he escaped prison and has to find a treasure for some Mafia guy, but you actually play the story he made up, so it comes out of nowhere.
Horizon Zero Dawn - the whole friggin story.

Every single thing in Diablo 3 was predictable and stupid. It was one of the worst stories I've ever seen. You basically get betrayed by ANYONE, and female Diablo was predictable right from the start, since she had that female shape on all artworks before game release.
The addon was so much better in every way.

Micah actually being a traitor was such a stupid ending in RDR2 not only because it's painfully obvious since the second he shows up on screen but because he isn't a traitor until after Guarma, which means he never actually got the chance to be a traitor. It would've been a better twist if it turned out that he was actually just a decent guy.

Killzone Shadowfall was way worse
>Main Cast from 3 were executed for genocide inbetween games because 3's ending was garbage.
>Helgast are once again oppressed throughout the galaxy
>Vecta who lost the war restarted their bioweapon development from Mercenaries a far superior Killzone game.
>Vecta keeps carrying out terrorist attacks against Helghast to keep them oppressed
>You play a terrorist
>Scholar's granddaughter is a cuck who believes that war is not the answer and is why the galaxy hates the Helghast despite the lore stating outright their militarization was the only thing that earned them decency.
>Stahl steals the virus, plans to wipe out the Vectans because of what they did to Helghan.
>Nigger who raise you was the actual badguy who let your retard father die. Raised you to be his tool and kills you when you're no longer necessary so he can move forward with wiping out the Helghast.
>Visari's grandaughter pulls her head from her ass and kills him for killing the protagonist and Stahl realizing peace of was never an option.
That game should have been from Visari's grandaughter's perspective as a Helghast special forces soldier and dealing with being a half breed. Slowly coming to terms that peace was never an option.

>Megaman X: Sigma was just a puppet of Dr. Wily
This makes me think you just skimmed a wiki page to come to this conclusion.
>Metal Gear Solid 4: Snake makes amends with all his enemies
okay you're just baiting
Now in the offchance you aren't and someone is interested, sigma is acting of his own volition. He is the only carrier of the virus to have been known to directly speak to wily, besides zero himself. Isoc and serges, the bots suspected to have wily ties, have not had any hint of this and are likely instead avatars for wily himself. Sigma held the belief that humanity was weak and inferior before his exposure to the virus. The virus only granted him the agency to act on his radical views. Unlike the rest of the mavericks under the control of the virus, he is completely in control. This is indicated by the fact that he actually has talked to wily instead of just being a mouthpiece for him. If you want to argue, you can try to say that sigma and wily's wishes aligning in that they both want X dead is kind of like wily manipulating him, but its really speculation beyond that.
If anything, the "bad twist"(s) should be:
>the X hunters are just rebuilding sigma
>repliforce is just being manipulated by sigma
>gate is just being controlled by sigma
>red alert is just being controlled by sigma
>Lumine was being controlled by oh wait
>spider was redips this whole t-HOLY SHIT WHAT

I was under the impression that Johnny Cage was special because he was the only one who couldn't do some kind of special energy-ki-whatthefuckever, due to the fact that he was just a movie star who happened to know some martial arts.
Did that stop being true at some point?
