Like 3 fucking artists ever experimented with continuing synthpop in that era. The style didn't rise in popularity until around 2010 after the home producer boom when people were looking for alternatives to dubshit. Blood Dragon and Hotline Miami made it popular in vidya, Blood Dragon introducing the aesthetic stylings and Hotline Miami 1 and 2 the artists. Drive was popular enough as a movie to remind everybody of Kavinsky, who'd been DJing and even had been on tour with Daft Punk. It was around 2013 you started to see stuff like NewRetroWave taking it too far and YouTube tutorials teaching everybody how to make the same kick-snare-kick-snare patterns and boring progressions that it all started to sound the same, and of course subreddits and kickstarters that caused the genre to stew in its own shit and stagnate for fucking years until today.
It's just music. Bleep bloops that sound nice. It's up to the artist if they want to politicize it, like Cybernazi, or not.

I unironically enjoy vaporwave, despite knowing it's largely just slowed down pop songs with some mild remixing. When you get down to it, vaporwave is basically just a remixing style. That being said, I don't like how they're often considered their own songs. It's pretty disrespectful to the original artists who bothered to make the melodies and beats.
On a side note, I think the reason why vaporwave "works" is because it feels incredibly dreamy. Things that you know should be faster but are played "in slow motion" is what a lot of dreams feel like - especially if you actually have music playing in the background while sleeping, it often plays slower in your dreams. At least it does for mine

its a complaint because its a piss easy artstyle that you should master easily, meaning it shouldnt take you more than a month to pump out a low poly racing game, let alone multiple years then sell it off to some kikes. its not the low poly thats the problem, its the fact that devs take their sweet time making a game that should have come out by now.

Indie devs actually crutch on high-level software they are not trained in, thus they don't make low-poly assets. Instead they make high-poly and high-mapped assets that just so happen to *imitate* low-poly. It's the mixels problem but for 3D. >Meme retrowave soundtrack that doesn't even fit the game, instead of proper late 1980s arcade racer music
>Terrible gameplay and controls
>Drift mechanics is utter shit and unreliable, and never existed in the games it tries to emulate
>Cheating AI (never makes mistakes, drive as if they're on rails and physics don't apply to them, rubberband), it even has meta in-game jokes about the cheating AI that only make it worse
>So unpolished and badly designed that the optional tutorial is impossible to complete (in the slipstream tutorial the rival car starts farther away than the minimum slipstreaming distance, is a faster car and it's a straight test track without curves or traffic, so it's impossible to catch up)
I wonder how someone can fuck up this much just making a decent retro-style arcade racer.

Has anyone ever made a MegaRace clone? This was a much beloved game in my early teen years even though I never actually possessed a copy.
