A thread for those of us who haven't moved on to newer systems and are still messing around with this thing.
So, how can I get a PSP to play PSP games?
Used goods stores should be selling them for $40-$60, on average. Or go for a Vita. Either way, you're going to have to spend a little more money, on top of that, because (Baring the state of the system itself with possibly needing to replace components depending on there being any damage) you'll need to either buy one of the proprietary SD cards or an adapter. If you're just looking to play PSP games without necessarily acquiring the system, just download PPSSPP
Okay, how do I mod it?

Be sure to overclock your PSP to "333/166" in order to increase performance.
What are some essential plug-ins that should be downloaded?
This is my personal opinion, but I'd advise:
>Game Categories Lite v1.6: http://www.mediafire.com/file/4it5arh4nnrdip8/categories_lite__1.6.zip
This is if you don't like the organization (Or lack there of) with the XMB and would like your apps more organized.
>CFW Folder Blocker: https://mega.nz/#F!KcAQkAzY?HYQAXQLA
Some official games have incompatibilities with PSP running a CFW and the presence of certain folders on your SD card, this is to prevent that from happening.
>CWCHEAT: https://mega.nz/#F!KcAQkAzY?jZQjlACR
For those cheaters out there or for those who want to hack their games. If you plan on transferring PS1 saves between your PSP and your computer, this is required due to the way the PSP saves and loads PS1 memory card files: http://archive.fo/715CC
>CXMB: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?t=41302
For those of you who want to spice up the XMB. Here's a pack of themes already made: https://cdromance.com/psp/6-60-ctf-best-themes-collection-download/
>pprefs: https://mega.nz/#F!KcAQkAzY?GJ5hhbqL
A simpler way to enable, disable, add, and remove all your plugins from within the PSP
>PRXshot: https://mega.nz/#F!KcAQkAzY?eMBjgTqI
A simple screenshot tool.
>PSP Power Saver: https://mega.nz/#F!KcAQkAzY?PEQD2QDB
This disables the UMD drive when it is not in use. It really helps with extending the battery life.
>XMB Item Hider: http://wololo.net/talk/viewtopic.php?p=414844#p414844
Another plugin that will help clean-up the XMB by allowing you to remove all those apps and categories that you literally will not use (Such as everything under the Extras, Network, and PSN menus)
>6.60 plugins on 6.61: https://www.lolhax.org/2016/02/14/how-to-6-60-plugins-on-6-61/
This is to help solve any incompatibilities some plugins have with the 6.61 FW.
How do I convert PS1 games so that I can play them?

What emulators can I play on my PSP?

Now, here's something I want to know, what's the best way to convert videos into a playable format? I found Nick Swardh's old converter, but I'm wondering if there is a newer option: https://ccm.net/download/download-5582-psp-video-converter
